  1. Basic ideas:
  2. Quetzar is the being of Destruction, while Xochi is the being of Renewal.
  3. The two, before humanity, kept Uroborus in a cycle of prosperity, destruction, then renewal.
  4.
  5. Xochi delegated the tasks of Renewal to 3 beings:
  6. -Patama for the plants (Grass/Ghost, rainforest)
  7. -Machima for the creatures of the ground and sky (Flying/Ghost, desert)
  8. -Yacuma for the creatures of the water. (Water/Ghost, deep ocean)
  9.
  10. Xochi also breathed life into a golden statue to have a friend, Xotec.
  11. The two were worshipped by early humans; however, as time went on,
  12. Xotec gained more attention due to its Midas Touch.
  13.
  14. that's simple backstory
  15. ------------
  16. 40 YEARS BEFORE START:
  17. Mangrove and Northington are young, aspiring researchers. They decide to journey together to study the history of Uroborus.
  18.
  19. -Mangrove studies the ancient ruins and artifacts
  20. -Northington studies texts and oral histories to gain knowledge
  21.
  22. As the City of Gold, if it exists, is long since forgotten, Northington stumbles upon the legend of El Dorado.
  23. Northington tries to convince his friend to search for the city, and Mangrove initially agrees.
  24. Mangrove realizes that Northington doesn't want to find the city for its cultural value, but instead for wealth.
  25. The two argue, and split off on unpleasant (but not hostile) terms, not speaking until the present day.
  26.
  27. Northington, without his partner, starts a group called [name pending, but for sake of brevity it will be The Expedition]

  30.
  31. Northington recruits a woman that worked in the Power Plants in one of the eastern cities, a man from the coal mines in Tremol Town, and a woman from Cliff Town, a town on the edge of the desert.
  32.
  33. The four of them work together, and discover a set of ruins stating the need for three great spirits to rediscover El Dorado. However, they know the spirits would not simply listen to humans, as they do not trust people.
  34.
  35.
  36. Thus, the man from the coal mines fashioned a being out of bronze that was powered by the energy of coal, and called it Erion.
  37.
  38. The woman from the Power Plants created a being that would feed off of electricity from batteries, and called it Erace.
  39.
  40. The woman from Cliff Town crafted a being that would run off of biofuel and plants, burning bright and hot, and named it Eronze.
  41.
  42. Each of their creations, however, was lifeless by design.
  43. To truly utilize the power of the 3 spirits and gain their obedience, the team set out to take the cores of each of the spirits and fasten them into their machines.
  44. This process started a few years before game start, and they start gathering the spirits after years of research during the game.
  45.
  46. Patama's core for Eronze.
  47. Yacuma's core for Erace.
  48. Machima's core for Erion.
  49.
  50. Using these, the team will eventually uncover the city of Gold.
