  1. "O herald of the dark, protect us with your embracing shadows.
  2. Protect us from nigh danger, death and destruction alike.
  3. Shield us from our enemies which would threaten.
  4. Envelop us in your cool, loving embrace.
  5. Bring swift justice to those who oppose us, and guide our way to find peace in your shadows should we fall.
  6. For we are all Nocturne’s offspring.
  7. For we are all, children of the dark blessed by his touch.
  8. With this I close my prayer, Nocturne guide us all.”
  9.
  10. This would be the traditional prayer to their god Nocturne before any sermon, major activity or meal.
  11.
  12. The mainstay of the Children of the Dark was a place just east of Honest Fields, in a hollowed out cave network not too far from it. Inside, the stonework was quite intricate, mainly rounded with little cubby holes to place gray glow stones for lighting. As a result, made the whites of the inhabitants eyes seem to have an unnatural bright glow to them.
  13.
  14. The dwellings were also carved out of the stone, with only a simple black sheet, accented with silver and light blue trimming. The sacred colors of their belief it was. Inside the dwellings, they all had a slightly larger glow stone cluster to keep the living room, dining room and kitchen well lit. Off to the side, an average of three bedrooms and facilities were carved out of the stone as well. Again, only those specific colored sheets, and a little shrine of Nocturne’s holy symbol; a three-horn within a circle.
  15.
  16. The centre for worship and sermons takes place in the central part of the network. A big, circular chapel with a podium-like stand and a tall, thin table containing a single book with the religious symbol behind it as a backdrop. Tapestries with said symbol hang everywhere, roughly 7 feet apart from each other with the sacred colors on them. Artfully worked benches lined up diagonally, as if organized in such a way that they all point north. The benches themselves were about two feet off the ground, made out of a wood and stone combination, and stained a grayish black.
  17.
  18. It is guarded by the temple guards, most wearing heavy armor with accents in the sacred colors and wielding flails, the edges of which resemble a crescent moon, though they know not the real origin of the shape. So they stick by tradition and continue to make it in that style. The flail is the main choice of weapon; the others include a chakram that resembles the holy symbol and uses the horns as blades, and a longsword with the symbol of the Children engraved or molded in the blade or hilt, respectively.
