  1. It is great that so many people have dedicated 90gb of their hard drives to Assange's safety. But being able to open the file is just as important as having it!
  2. Here's what you need to know to open the insurance.aes256 file:
  3.
  4. - First download and install AEScrypt, the encryption client that is used to encrypt and decrypt files. It can be found at aescrypt.com
  5. - Next, locate the AEScrypt files. They are installed by default in C>Program Files>AESCrypt
  6. - Copy the three files in the AESCrypt folder, and paste them into the same folder where you have your insurance file saved.
  7. - You cannot simply right click the insurance file and decrypt it. You must run a command using the default Windows "Run" app. Simply type Run into your Windows search bar to find the app.
  8. - The command varies based on your name, file name, and where you have the file saved, but here is my example (if I were Hillary Clinton):
  9.
  10. D:\Hillary Clinton\Documents\Insurance\aescrypt32 2016-06-03_insurance.aes256
  11.
  12. The important bit is that you have your file path and file name correct. Mine is saved on my D drive, yours may be on C. I recommend saving this run command into a text file so you don't have to remember it later.
  13.
  14. Once you enter this command in the Run application, a window should pop up asking you for a password. That's it! You're ready! If the password is ever released, all you have to do is enter it. When it is released, the AESCrypt website is almost sure to be DDOSed, possibly maliciously. Prepare for this and have the app before it happens.
