  1. >Your mind is racing with anticipation
  2. >You are fatigued and tired
  3. >But anger fuels you as you walk
  4. >Your fists clench and unclench constantly
  5. >You’re getting impatient
  6. >Every step feels sluggish to you
  7. >Yet you’re walking at a very brisk pace
  8. >Something has nested within your mind
  9. >It guides you to your destination
  10. >Towards justice
  11. >The world around you is silent
  12. >The only sounds you hear are your breathing and the echoes of your footsteps
  13. >You are just now exiting Canterlot Castle
  14. >Luckily, Princess Luna
  15. >None of your friends…
  16. >No guards
  17. >No one encountered you on your way out
  18. >You’re glad for that
  19. >You don’t need to see the ones you’re about to condemn
  20. >All these ponies
  21. >You’re sick of them
  22. >Sick of being treated like a child
  23. >Being told you don’t know what you’re doing
  24. >Acting as if you aren’t there
  25. >Always judging you
  26. >Assuming because you couldn’t speak that it reflected the quality of how you expressed yourself
  27. >Even your friends did this to you
  28. >That somehow was worse
  29. >Sure they liked you and it may be unintentional at times, but they never trusted you or tried to help when it mattered
  30. >Oh sure there was one who always saw you as an equal
  31. >And she’s the worst of all
  32. >She deceived you
  33. >Made you feel safe
  34. >And then left you a wreck
  35. >Treated you like the others did when it benefitted her
  36. >You grit your teeth
  37. >She is going to pay for this!
  38. >They all will!
  39. >And yet
  40. >This feels wrong
  41. >In fact….
  42. >A small part of you is telling you that this is very wrong
  43. >To turn back now
  44. >You’ve learned that two wrongs don’t make a right
  45. >You almost smile
  46. >When did you truly learn that?
  47. >From who…?
  48. >As you walk onwards your mind wanders to that moment
  49.
  50. >Sometime in the past….
  51. >You’ve only been in Equestria for a few weeks
  52. >But you feel safe here
  53. >She said you wouldn’t come to harm here
  54. >So far you haven’t
  55. >Though you aren’t really happy
  56. >Today you’re helping Fluttershy give breakfast to the animals
  57. >Fluttershy is filling bowls full of feed
  58. >She asked you to feed the other half
  59. >You complied, may as well do something around here
  60. >Anything to keep you from thinking about home
  61. >At the moment you are about to feed a white rabbit
  62. >He was rather cute, but looked very impatient
  63. >You reach out your hand to pet him
  64. >Hoping to put him at ease
  65. >He doesn’t appreciate this and bites your hand
  66. >Hard
  67. >You grunt in pain and pull back sharply
  68. >It actually drew blood
  69. >You glare
  70. >Maybe he doesn’t know better
  71. >But the recent and drastic changes to your life has not helped your mood
  72. >Fluttershy said to feed him, but no
  73. >You will not
  74. >Fluttershy finishes feeding the rest of the animals
  75. >You feed the other half except that one rabbit
  76. >He looks quite pissed now
  77. >You don’t care
  78. >Fluttershy notices this
  79. >”Oh dear, Anon you forgot Angel.”
  80. >Shake your head
  81. >This puzzles her
  82. >Show her your now scabbed bite
  83. >”Angel Bunny!”
  84. >She frowns at him
  85. >But she then turns to you
  86. >”I know he wasn’t very nice, but it’s not good to do something mean as well….”
  87. >You cross your arms
  88. >”You won’t solve anything by fighting, mister.”
  89. >She smiles sweetly
  90. >”S-sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness.”
  91. >You would shrug that off, but she took you in
  92. >And you’re grateful for that
  93. >Fluttershy motions you to a corner
  94. >You follow her
  95. >She whispers to you
  96. >”Angel can be a bit naughty at times, but I think you’ll both be good friends.”
  97. >”If you wouldn’t mind, I think you should make him a special treat.”
  98. >You really don’t want to
  99. >But you’re a guest here so you nod
  100. >It takes quite a while to prepare, and this rabbit was apparently picky eater
  101. >Whip cream?
  102. >A cherry on top?
  103. >All the time you spent making this with Fluttershy has ebbed away at your temper
  104. >Although this bunny better appreciate all of this
  105. >You carry the fancy salad over to him
  106. >He hasn’t moved but you’ve never seen a rabbit look so angry
  107. >You set the bowl down in front of him
  108. >Angel looks absolutely shocked
  109. >He quickly eats the whole thing and appears quite calm now
  110. >You look to Fluttershy
  111. >She nods at you
  112. >You pet Angel and he nuzzles your hand
  113. >You smile and sit down while petting him
  114. >To your surprise he jumps onto your lap
  115. >Fluttershy beams at the two of you
  116. >”See? Two wrongs don’t make a right.”
  117. >She giggles
  118. >”I’m so glad to see you two warm up to each other!”
  119. >You roll your eyes as you rub behind Angel’s ears
  120. >Yeah…Fluttershy kind of has a point…..
  121.
  122. >Present day
  123. >You sigh heavily
  124. >Two wrongs don’t make a right?!
  125. >SHE told you that!
  126. >Screw her
  127. >You growl
  128. >Some values she turned out to have
  129. >That traitor…
  130. >She probably still doesn’t think she committed anything wrong
  131. >But she’ll see
  132. >You’ll make her see
  133. >The statues are in sight
  134. >You scan the area
  135. >The Statue of Victory is in sight
  136. >Discord should be nearby
  137. >You run in that general direction
  138. >This is it!
  139. >You sprint past the many statues…
  140. >Only to see that Discord’s statue isn’t where it should be
  141. >What the hell?!
  142.
  143. >You are now Twilight Sparkle
  144. >This is terrible!
  145. >Catastrophic!
  146. >Terrifying…
  147. >What is driving Anon to do this?
  148. >You know is he’s been very unhappy recently
  149. >But what pushed him too far?
  150. >You don’t have time to ponder this
  151. >You need to alert the princess immediately
  152. >It hurts
  153. >First, Fluttershy turns out to be not the pony you thought she was
  154. >Now Anon is betraying all of you
  155. >Can you trust anyp0ny now?
  156. >To get through this you’re going to have to
  157. >You gallop through the halls of the castle
  158. >Not quick enough
  159. >You focus your mind
  160. >It’s a bit hard to do with all the worry and fear you’re experiencing
  161. >But you soon feel power course through you
  162. >You begin to imagine the Princess
  163. >Where she is
  164. >What she is doing
  165. >Away from here
  166. >Each thought is accompanied by a tugging feeling
  167. >It gets stronger and stronger until you’re pulled through
  168. >A bright flash emits all around you
  169. >The scenery changes
  170. >It is dim in here, but the room is large
  171. >The floor beneath you has a large sun emblem
  172. >You’re in a bedchamber
  173. >It definitely looks like Princess Celestia’s
  174. >She’s still sleeping, but she’s starting to stir awake
  175. >Normally you’d feel very nervous about interrupting her sleep
  176. >Not now though, this is too important
  177. >”Princess! Please…”
  178. >”T…Twilight Sparkle?”
  179. >”Yes it’s me! Listen, your highness Anon has gone crazy!”
  180. >The princess is now very alert
  181. >You continue
  182. >”I can feel him through his enchanted necklace.”
  183. >You inhale sharply
  184. >”He’s …going to free Discord.”
  185. >Princess Celestia quickly gets out of bed
  186. >Her eyes are wide
  187. >”Are you sure?”
  188. >You nod
  189. >”I-I just don’t know what why.”
  190. >You attempt to hold back the hurt in your voice
  191. >The princess hangs her head
  192. >She sighs deeply
  193. >She looks almost …guilty?
  194. >”My dear student, I must tell you later. What is important right now is that we stop Discord before it is too late.”
  195. >You nod with no enthusiasm
  196. >”Every moment he gets strong and I was afraid something or somep0ny may try to tamper with Discord. So I had his statue moved after your last attempt to seal him.”
  197. >That’s the princess, always cautious
  198. >”It will only buy us time.”
  199. >She then gains a more commanding tone
  200. >”Gather the rest of your friends.”
  201. >You nod
  202. >The princess gives you a look
  203. >”All of them.”
  204. >You nod again this time with a bitter expression
  205. >”Be prepared for anything Disocrd may try. He will most likely try to hinder your progress in anyway he can.”
  206. >You shiver
  207. >You know that all too well what he’s capable of
  208. >Maybe Discord is exploiting Anon’s anger with something
  209. >You surely hope so
  210. >”Anon, please fight it.”
  211. >You mutter under your breath
  212. >”Don’t let your desire for some desire for revenge rule you.”
  213. >You gallop out of Princess Celestia’s bed chamber
  214. >You head towards the rooms where your friends are sleeping
  215. >You need to hurry
  216. >To save all of them
  217. >To save Equestria
  218. >And to save Anon
  219. >If he can still be saved…
  220.
  221. >You are now Anon
  222. >You are quickly looking around the area
  223. >There isn’t a Discord statue
  224. >You groan loudly
  225. >It should be right there!
  226. >Maybe it was there
  227. >There may just be an illusion
  228. >You can see where it used to be
  229. >You reach out a hand
  230. >You don’t feel anything
  231. >Still not giving up on this theory
  232. >You walk onto the spot where it was once located
  233. >Nothing
  234. >It really isn’t there
  235. >No illusions
  236. >If it’s not here then where is it?
  237. >You can’t have come this far for nothing at all!
  238. >You hear the rumbling of thunder
  239. >You look over at the hedge maze
  240. >The entire maze is surrounded by low hanging dark clouds
  241. >You’re taking that as a sign
  242. >Something within you urges you to enter the maze
  243. >You give in to that urge and begin to walk again
  244. >Despite it being very dark because of the clouds you seem to know where you’re going
  245. >Each turn you make without hesitation
  246. >You look a bit above you
  247. >The clouds remind you of the ones on Earth
  248. >He’s not even free yet and he’s capable of doing this
  249. >Well, at least you’re sure this is his work
  250. >You know he’s capable of anything
  251. >Of making Fluttershy sorry
  252. >For her to be put to justice
  253. >That motivates you again
  254. >You breath out sharply
  255. >Then you walk a bit faster
  256. >On the other hand he’s capable of ruining this place
  257. >This world
  258. >Sure, you’re angry at the ponies
  259. >Even you didn’t know you were angry with the majority of them until now….
  260. >You shake your head
  261. >There definitely are things you don’t want gone from this world
  262. >Remembering the time you befriended Angel makes you wonder how he’s doing right now
  263. >How he’ll be doing along with the other animals
  264. >A part of you really worries what will become of all of them when you go through with this
  265. >Many of the animals here cannot take care of themselves
  266. >You usually helped them with that
  267. >It was something you actually enjoyed during your time here
  268. >You were no expert, but you got quite good at it
  269. >You liked all of them
  270. >They at least treated you with some respect
  271. >And they were nice to you…
  272. >You try to push these thoughts out of your mind, but they flood back into you
  273. >You begin to recall when you really appreciated caring for them….
  274.
  275. >Sometime in the past…
  276. >Spring just came recently
  277. >You didn’t know how serious they were about changing seasons
  278. >It amazed you that they were capable of doing it at all
  279. >There are many new additions to the cottage now
  280. >Some are baby animals
  281. >Others are animals just returning after napping all winter
  282. >And some have flown back for spring
  283. >Fluttershy is doing a check up on all of the birds
  284. >All of them
  285. >She invited you to watch and possibly help out
  286. >You enjoyed helping her, but tended to pass up larger and more advanced tasks
  287. >It intimidated you actually
  288. >What if you screw something up?
  289. >What if the animals don’t like you anymore?
  290. >Fluttershy insisted this time
  291. >When she insists you listen
  292. >You owe her a lot
  293. >You just hope she isn’t making a mistake by doing this
  294. >The both of you walk out of the cottage
  295. >Fluttershy brought a large perch
  296. >There’s nothing outside
  297. >You raise an eyebrow at her
  298. >She smiles and then clears her throat
  299. >She sings a little tune skyward
  300. >At first nothing happens
  301. >But then you hear birds repeat the tune
  302. >A few of them land on the perch
  303. >Fluttershy hovers over to them and mumbles calming things to them
  304. >She performs a few check ups
  305. >You’re amazed the birds aren’t freaked out
  306. >Each one is done quickly and efficiently
  307. >After the first ten birds are done they fly into the air
  308. >Singing that tune
  309. >You look up and your eyes widen
  310. >Above you both there are all kinds of birds
  311. >A few were familiar sites, but you saw a toucan
  312. >A flamingo even
  313. >And is that a falcon and an eagle?
  314. >Different birds of all shapes, colors and sizes fill the air
  315. >You’d expect chaos but they land ten at a time on the perch
  316. >Fluttershy checks up on them and they take off
  317. >You watch this for some time until she turns to you
  318. >Uh oh…
  319. >”Anon would you like to do this next row?”
  320. >You shake your head
  321. >”How come?”
  322. >You sign to her, nervous.
  323. >She gives you an encouraging smile
  324. >”I’ll show you.”
  325. >You slowly walk over to her
  326. >Making sure not to alert the birds
  327. >They still react to your presence but do not take off
  328. >Fluttershy begins to guide you through the process
  329. >She told you to remember their age, name, species and gender
  330. >This was a male blue jay named Breezy
  331. >She’s memorized just about all of them
  332. >If you hadn’t known her for some time now you would dismiss that claim
  333. >But she is very dedicated to what she does
  334. >She helped you through the actual check up
  335. >First you checked his eyes for any running
  336. >The bird didn’t struggle at all
  337. >You went through the rest of physical examination with Fluttershy to help you every step of the way
  338. >From skin, feathers, nares, beak, ears, oral cavity, bones, muscles, and ….ew even the vent
  339. >You went through the others faster each time
  340. >None of these birds had any health problems
  341. >They circle around you happily and take off
  342. >That wasn’t so bad
  343. >The two of you switched between checking up on them
  344. >Fluttershy took care of a bird if it really did have a health problem
  345. >Overall this was actually a nice experience
  346. >About a couple hours later and it’s finished
  347. >The birds have still hung around though
  348. >It amazed you that they seemed grateful for this
  349. >A few landed on your shoulder even
  350. >The animals here really are smarter than the ones back at home
  351. >You smile up at them
  352. >Fluttershy nuzzles your leg
  353. >”Would you like to hear the birdies sing for us?”
  354. >You nod
  355. >She flies into the air and organizes them in some sort of pattern
  356. >All of them were perched somewhere
  357. >Then she motions to them with her hooves
  358. >They begin to sing a sort of marching song
  359. >There were many different sounds from the birds, but it all worked somehow
  360. >Did she practice with them?
  361. >You assume so
  362. >You can’t wipe this smile off of your face
  363. >The animals here truly are amazing
  364.
  365. >Present day
  366. >Now is not the time to think about that!
  367. >You’re making things right!
  368. >And of course who brought out your interest in animals?
  369. >Fluttershy
  370. >It’s always her
  371. >You purse your lip
  372. >Damn it!
  373. >Why did you allow her to become such a big part of your life?
  374. >Fresh fury courses through you
  375. >The pulling gets stronger
  376. >The presence within your mind is more vivid
  377. >You can feel him now
  378. >Guiding you through this maze
  379. >You can barely see in here, but you aren’t lost
  380. >You’re getting closer
  381. >It would be a bad idea to turn back now
  382. >Everything is going the way it’s supposed to
  383. >There is no need for distractions
  384. >You don’t owe anyone anything!
  385. >Not even the animals
  386. >A traitorous part of your brain asks you
  387. >Then why, do you have so much doubt now?
  388. >You don’t attempt to answer that
  389. >You just clench your fists as you keep walking
  390. >They may know something is wrong now
  391. >The ponies
  392. >Most likely your “friends”
  393. >Under the orders of Celestia
  394. >You feel a bitterness wash over you
  395. >Yeah they’re going to “help” you alright
  396. >Help you become a naïve idiot all over again
  397. >Let Fluttershy off free
  398. >Hopefully they cannot find you in time
  399. >That would be the worst thing that could happen to you
  400. >Not to mention
  401. >You’re not sure if you can face your friends before you can go through with this
  402. >You cast away that doubt
  403. >Even though you haven’t stopped moving towards your destination you still feel doubts
  404. >Nagging and digging away at you
  405. >Your anger begins to seep out like blood from an open wound
  406. >But your determination hasn’t
  407.
  408. >You are now Twilight Sparkle
  409. >You and the girls are right outside the hedge maze
  410. >Discord is truly confident in becoming free if he is using so much of the little power he has to prevent you from intercepting Anon
  411. >Rainbow Dash attempted to fly through the clouds only to end up back where she started
  412. >You tried teleporting but your mind becomes filled with confusing images and conflicting ideas when you attempt to
  413. >You look to your friends
  414. >Everyp0ny is not looking forward to entering this maze again
  415. >You can see it on their faces
  416. >Not even Pinkie Pie is smiling
  417. >This place held so many bad memories
  418. >It looks like it will bear a few more now
  419. >You’re wearing your crown
  420. >They’re wearing their necklaces
  421. >You explain to them how you can track Anon
  422. >”You may have noticed Anon has been wearing a necklace recently.”
  423. >Everyp0ny nods
  424. >Fluttershy winces
  425. >”It’s enchanted and runs off of my magic.”
  426. >You could feel it draining from you
  427. >No fatigue from it yet, but you needed to hurry
  428. >”We can use that to find him within the maze or wherever he may be.”
  429. >”He seems to be distracted enough not to notice it is activated.”
  430. >”Just follow me and this time we do not want to get separated.”
  431. >Everyp0ny did not need to be told twice
  432. >Not after what happened last time
  433. >You stare at Fluttershy
  434. >She looks the most miserable out of everyp0ny
  435. >Good
  436. >Because of her you’re not even sure you can stop Discord if he is free
  437. >The princess has specifically ordered you not to tell your friends about her crime
  438. >So you haven’t
  439. >But it irritates you to see your friends treat her as if she did nothing wrong
  440. >Rarity notices Fluttershy is shaking
  441. >She gives her friend a sympathetic look
  442. >She sighs
  443. >”Fluttershy I’m sure Anon will see reason.”
  444. >”You love each other very much. It may not be his fault.”
  445. >Rarity seemed to be reassuring herself as much as she was trying with Fluttershy
  446. >Nop0ny has been taking the betrayal well at all
  447. >Fluttershy is still shaking
  448. >Her mane is hiding her expression
  449. >She begins to hyperventilate
  450. >Rainbow Dash hovers over and interjects
  451. >”I’m pretty sure he knows what he’s doing!”
  452. >”Isn’t that what some of you all say anyway?”
  453. >”That he’s like us! Let’s face it he’s gone off the deep end!”
  454. >Rainbow grimaces
  455. >She stops shouting
  456. >”He’s abandoning us…..he wasn’t always so great….but I liked him…”
  457. >Fluttershy raises her head
  458. >She had no tears in her eyes, but there was sorrow displayed on her face
  459. >She raises her voice to a volume you rarely heard from her
  460. >”It’s my fault! All of it!”
  461. >Her hooves shake weakly but she looks everyp0ny in the eyes
  462. >Rarity looks confused
  463. >Her mouth gapes for a few moments
  464. >”What do you mean Fluttershy?”
  465. >Fluttershy is silent for a few moments
  466. >Lost in her own thoughts
  467. >”I d-don’t deserve your sympathy Rarity, not from any of you…”
  468. >She shuts her eyes tightly
  469. >Rarity looks extremely concerned
  470. >”Oh Fluttershy, it’s not your fault w-“
  471. >”No! It is! You knew it back then too! You know what I did! You told me you were disappointed in me!”
  472. >What?
  473. >Did Rarity know about this?
  474. >Fluttershy moves over to Pinkie
  475. >She puts a hoof on Pinkie’s withers
  476. >”Pinkie, I promised to you and I broke it! I d-didn’t know I was breaking one, but I did…”
  477. >Pinkie Pie looks confused
  478. >She puts a hoof to her chin and frowns
  479. >”What promise?”
  480. >”Uuh you didn’t promise anything to me.”
  481. >Fluttershy sighs
  482. >”None of you remember….”
  483. >Remember….
  484. >Then it hits you
  485. >You were all memory wiped…
  486. >That has to be it
  487. >What happened before?
  488. >Only Fluttershy seems to know
  489. >Maybe Anon knows now too
  490. >Is that what drove him to do this?
  491. >You and the others give Fluttershy a confused look
  492. >Applejack clears her throat
  493. >”Sugarcube I know you’re very shaken up by all of this, bu-“
  494. >”I’m sorry, but there’s just no time!”
  495. >Fluttershy rushes inside the maze before anyp0ny can respond
  496. >”I have a promise to Anon, and I need to make things right!”
  497. >You all gasp
  498. >A few of your friends want to go after her
  499. >”No! Don’t!”
  500. >”Fluttershy will have to meet with us later.”
  501. >”We need to stick together this time!”
  502. >Everyp0ny nods reluctantly
  503. >Thanks Fluttershy
  504. >It wasn’t like this was bad enough
  505. >You still wonder what she meant by a promise
  506. >Is she realizing her mistakes?
  507. >With the girls close behind you enter the maze
  508. >Your horn illuminates your path
  509. >You’re not sure if it’s a good thing if Fluttershy encounters Anon first
  510.
  511. >You are now Anon
  512. >You’re nearly panting in anxiousness
  513. >Justice will be served
  514. >You keep assuring yourself that
  515. >But is it really going to be worth it?
  516. >Despite you deciding the animals aren’t worth saving you still find doubt within yourself
  517. >You still care about them
  518. >That they may not have proper homes
  519. >That they may become twisted
  520. >No…
  521. >Why do you care?
  522. >About this world?
  523. >You never wish you came to this world
  524. >Especially after everything that’s happened
  525. >The lack of humans
  526. >The embarrassment
  527. >The strangeness of it
  528. >With impossible creatures
  529. >Magic
  530. >Yet you’re the strange one
  531. >It’s a world full of ponies that see you as some sort of odd creature
  532. >When it should have been the other way around
  533. >You frown
  534. >It’s not your world!
  535. >It never was!
  536. >It never has been!
  537. >It can burn for all you care
  538. >That traitorous part of you begins to stir again
  539. >You didn’t always feel that way about this world
  540. >You don’t really mean that….
  541. >You try to ignore it, but it resurfaces memories within you
  542.
  543. >Sometime in the past…
  544. >It’s dark outside
  545. >It’s incredibly quite
  546. >With the exception of the occasional cricket the only sounds that can be heard are your footsteps
  547. >And her hoof steps
  548. >You’re holding a picnic basket in your arms
  549. >Fluttershy has a lantern in her mouth
  550. >You could carry both, but she felt that she should carry something
  551. >Neither of you talk
  552. >Sure, you couldn’t and she wasn’t talkative either
  553. >But she said no words to you
  554. >You both were looking forward to this
  555. >A late night picnic
  556. >She made your favorite foods
  557. >You can’t wait to have smoked salmon
  558. >The two of you have been walking for a few minutes now
  559. >Luckily, the cottage is already on the outskirts of Ponyville
  560. >So the walk to a particular spot in the meadow was much shorter than if you lived in the middle of Ponyville
  561. >There it was in sight
  562. >A hill far from Ponyville
  563. >It was very dark and the only light around the area was the moon and the lantern
  564. >You open up the basket and help Fluttershy lay down a large blanket
  565. >She made it herself, and it has many intricate patterns on it
  566. >You eagerly sit down and she rests beside you
  567. >You open the picnic basket
  568. >You grin widely at the smoked salmon, and was that…bacon?!
  569. >She hardly ever got you bacon
  570. >It was hard to stuff to get
  571. >You hug her and she giggles
  572. >”Only the best food for my sweetie.”
  573. >You pet her mane and pass her a cucumber, lettuce, and tomato sandwich
  574. >She begins to eat it
  575. >You dig into your salmon and bacon
  576. >It was delicious
  577. >The two of you enjoy each other’s warmth and the good food
  578. >Before you knew it all the food was gone
  579. >But you didn’t mind you had your fill
  580. >”Let’s look at the stars Anon.”
  581. >You nod
  582. >She puts out the lantern
  583. >It’s pitch black now
  584. >You lie down and look upward
  585. >Fluttershy gets onto your stomach and observes with you
  586. >You lightly pet her back as you look in wonder
  587. >The constellations here look pretty much identical to the ones back on your world
  588. >The Ursas, the Dippers, even Orion seems to be up there
  589. >You feel a bit of sadness
  590. >So much like your world
  591. >But it’s not…
  592. >Still you are happy to see the stars
  593. >And so many of them
  594. >It’s beautiful and you can see more here now that you’re farther from Ponyville
  595. >Each one shines brightly in the sky
  596. >Some brighter than others
  597. >Some different colors
  598. >You’ve actually never seen so many before
  599. >You can’t hide your amazement at it all
  600. >Fluttershy studies your expression
  601. >She waits a moment before asking
  602. >”You really like the stars don’t you?”
  603. >You nod
  604. >”I’m wondering though, it looks like you haven’t seen them before.”
  605. >You nod again
  606. >She cocks her head
  607. >You sign to her, tell her you couldn’t see stars like this back on your world
  608. >Fluttershy looks surprised
  609. >”Are there fewer stars where you’re from?”
  610. >You think for a moment
  611. >It may be difficult to explain light pollution
  612. >Instead you sign to her, there were the same amount of stars, but you cannot see them from where you used to live.
  613. >Fluttershy gives you a very sympathetic look
  614. >She looks very shocked actually
  615. >”Th-that’s so very sad sweetie…”
  616. >You guess
  617. >You sign to her, It wasn’t so bad you actually liked that place
  618. >You sigh
  619. >You lose your smile
  620. >Fluttershy presses herself closer against you
  621. >”Do you miss your world?”
  622. >You nod
  623. >You breathe out again
  624. >You’re beginning to feel melancholy again
  625. >You sign to her, this world is beautiful though
  626. >Fluttershy gives you a warm look
  627. >”It’s your home and world too.”
  628. >She nuzzles your neck
  629. >You think about that
  630. >You can’t go back to Earth
  631. >So you guess it is your world
  632. >You smile in agreement
  633. >She then looks at you
  634. >Her eyes glisten
  635. >”You always have a place here, sweetie.”
  636. >Fluttershy pecks your cheek and you chuckle
  637. >”I love you, I care about you, and nothing is going to hurt you.”
  638. >Present day
  639. >You shake your head frantically
  640. >Damn it!
  641. >No!
  642. >You can’t get hung up on this!
  643. >Not now!
  644. >You’re at the statue of Discord
  645. >Well, he’s in sight anyway
  646. >In this large open area within the maze
  647. >This is it
  648. >You’re about to take another step forward, but you hesitate
  649. >If you go through with this you would be taking everything away
  650. >This place’s beauty….
  651. >Innocent ponies….you can’t really blame all of them…
  652. >The animals you cared for….
  653. >Nothing is going to be spared from whatever Discord has store
  654. >Do you really have the right to do this?
  655. >This deal with Discord
  656. >Justice for his freedom
  657. >What guarantees that he’ll really help?
  658. >These deals with the devil never go right
  659. >You’ve come this far
  660. >It’s either this or whatever the ponies have planned for you
  661. >You bitterly sigh
  662. >This is the point of no return…
  663. >You feel something within you urging you forward
  664. >So you do so
  665. >You walk up to the statue of Discord
  666. >The statue begins to move slowly
  667. >It’s pose changes
  668. >His claw is outstretched
  669. >As if asking you to shake it or hold onto it
  670. >You gulp and step closer
  671. >Discord speaks to you
  672. >The statue’s mouth doesn’t move, but his voice is projected
  673. >”Ah, Anon it’s good to see you.”
  674. >”It’s getting really cramped in here. Why don’t you help me out?”
  675. >”Just give me your hand, your anger, all of those emotions.”
  676. >”Then I can be free!”
  677. >You nod
  678. >You slowly move your arm towards the stone claw
  679. >You’re still uncertain
  680. >”I think you should hurry up. It looks like we have a special guest.”
  681. >You comply, but the you hear it
  682. >Two loud stomps one soft one
  683. >You withdraw your arm and turn your head
  684. >Fluttershy
  685. >Oh perfect
  686. >What is she doing here?!
  687. >Something tells you she just knows you too well
  688. >How to find you
  689. >You shiver and growl loudly
  690. >She approaches you without fear
  691. >Just in time for her judgment
  692. >You glare at with an intense anger
  693. >Her ears flatten but she begins to speak
  694. >”I’m sorry Anon, for everything.”
  695. >You clench your fists
  696. >Oh now she has to be truly sorry?!
  697. >When everything is on the line?
  698. >You begin to turn your head away and continue
  699. >She then speaks up loudly and begins to cry
  700. >”I raped you Anon! I didn’t want to admit it, but I raped you!”
  701. >”I was so *snf* wrong to do those things to y-you!”
  702. >Fluttershy gets closer
  703. >”I just *gasp*couldn’t handle the rejection, I love you Anon!”
  704. >”And I always will!”
  705. >Your hurt feels heavy with many emotions
  706. >You’re glad she’s admitting it
  707. >Shocked even
  708. >You feel a big weight off your heart
  709. >However, you’re still angry
  710. >That she still seems to love you even when you’re doing this
  711. >She never seems to give up on you
  712. >Fluttershy is now beside you
  713. >You move your hand towards Discord’s claw but you wait for her
  714. >She looks like she has more to say
  715. >”I took your choice away from you….”
  716. >”*snf* That was so awful of me.”
  717. >”Th-that’s why I’m going to let you choose.”
  718. >Your eyes widen
  719. >”I’m not going to stop you, mister.”
  720. >She sniffles and tears run down her face
  721. >”I just want to *snf* keep my promise to you, that’s all I want.”
  722. >”I’ll accept anything you think I deserve!”
  723. >Discord grows impatient
  724. >”Don’t pay attention to her, just hurry up!”
  725. >But you listen to her words
  726. >A choice
  727. >You actually smile a little
  728. >Finally someone is giving you a choice again
  729. >Just like she used to
  730. >Before all of this happened…
  731. >Everyone always wanted something from you or thought what was best for you
  732. >Back on your old world everyone tried to make decisions for you
  733. >The local ponies always wanted you to be a pet or to listen to their advice
  734. >Your friends always though they knew better than you did
  735. >Celestia wanted you to live in peace with Fluttershy as if nothing happened
  736. >Always trying to undo things to maintain the status quo
  737. >Discord wants you to free him so he can spread chaos throughout Equestria
  738. >Even Fluttershy one of the few who has given you choices before
  739. >Well she betrayed you too
  740. >She had acted like the others when it benefitted her
  741. >To pretend you didn’t reject her and to assure herself
  742. >No one ever asked what you wanted
  743. >You look at Discord’s statue
  744. >This isn’t you
  745. >You’re not that person
  746. >You’ll have to find another way…
  747. >You’re going to do what you really want
  748. >And that doesn’t include being Discord’s pawn
  749. >”Give me your hand Anon!”
  750. >He sounds genuinely angry now
  751. >”These ponies deserve it!”
  752. >”I can give you anything you desire!”
  753. >”I can give you a voice!”
  754. >You almost do so
  755. >But you don’t
  756. >You’re still conflicted, but you’re not going to do it because he offered you something like that
  757. >”Free me! NOW!”
  758. >Fluttershy is pressed close against you
  759. >From behind you a loud sound emits
  760. >A bolt of purple nearly hits you
  761. >The others are here!
  762. >Shit
  763. >How?
  764. >You notice it
  765. >The Canvas!
  766. >It reads: “Uncertainty.”
  767. >You deactivate it, but it’s already led them to you
  768. >How could you have been so forgetful?
  769. >You hear Twilight call out to Fluttershy
  770. >”Get out of the way Fluttershy!”
  771. >You turn around to see the others with Twilight at the front of the group
  772. >Her horn is glowing
  773. >”I had to see it to believe it! Anon is going to betray all of us!”
  774. >Fluttershy is blocking Twilight’s shot at you
  775. >”No! He needs to make his own decision!”
  776. >Twilight glares, but Fluttershy doesn’t move
  777. >You look at the faces of all your friends
  778. >They look shocked and confused at all of this
  779. >Discord booms
  780. >”RELEASE ME BOY! GIVE ME YOUR HATE!”
  781. >You sigh
  782. >With them here it seems obvious
  783. >You just can’t release Discord
  784. >You’re just going to have to find another way
  785. >To negotiate with the princess
  786. >Anything
  787. >For everything
  788. >Everyone
  789. >And especially for yourself
  790. >You look at the statue and shake your head
  791. >The ground begins to shake
  792. >”Oh you’ve done it now Anon!”
  793. >”I was hoping you’d not be such an idiot, but now I’m going to do this the easy way!”
  794. >”Well, easy for me.”
  795. >”If you won’t give it to me….”
  796. >”I’LL TAKE IT FROM YOU!”
  797. >Using whatever energy he had left the statue moves quickly now
  798. >Everyone gasps
  799. >His claw swipes at you
  800. >You shut your eyes
  801. >But nothing happens
  802. >You open your eyes
  803. >Fluttershy is in front of you
  804. >She’s shaking now
  805. >You cover your mouth
  806. >The claw impaled her
  807. >It withdraws
  808. >Then the statue stops moving
  809. >Fluttershy falls onto the ground
  810. >You’re in shock, but everyone rushes to her
  811. >”Fluttershy!”
  812. >They gather around her
  813. >She speaks to them while you stand there stunned
  814. >Shaking
  815. >Trying to process what just happened
  816. >Some time seems to pass
  817. >Twilight approaches you
  818. >With tears in hers eyes
  819. >”A-anon, she wants to speak to you now…”
  820. >They all give you some space as you rush over to her
  821. >Her stomach is seeping blood at an alarming rate
  822. >Oh nononono
  823. >You motion to Twilight
  824. >To save her!
  825. >Anything!
  826. >Twilight shakes her head
  827. >”Anon, that’s no ordinary wound….”
  828. >She sobs
  829. >”She’s going t-to…”
  830. >You kneel down next to Fluttershy
  831. >She’s in very bad shape
  832. >Her coat is matted with blood
  833. >She’s weezing and shivering
  834. >Some dark substance seems to be eating away at the wound
  835. >Fluttershy sees you with tears in her eyes
  836. >”Anon….”
  837. >”I’m *unf* s-so sorry.”
  838. >Tears begin to run down your eyes
  839. >”Isn’t this what you wanted though *snf*?”
  840. >You frantically shake your head
  841. >Your hands begin to shake
  842. >You sign to her, you wanted her to be punished and have her realize her mistake.
  843. >You weep a little more
  844. >You sign to her, you never wanted her to die
  845. >She looks at you sadly
  846. >A hoof slowly and gently strokes your cheek
  847. >”I love you, I c-care about you, and nothing is going to hurt you….”
  848. >”D-did I *agh* keep my promise Anon?”
  849. >You feel now that she did, this time…
  850. >You nod
  851. >Fluttershy smiles through the pain
  852. >”I’m so *snf* glad…”
  853. >You sign to her, the world may be doomed now…
  854. >Without her Discord still wins
  855. >Fluttershy doesn’t lose her smile
  856. >”Listen to me sweetie, *unf* I’ve taught you that you can make things right….there’s always a way.”
  857. >”I know you can find a way Anon *wheeze* you’re so k-kind, resourceful, smart, and I believe in you ….”
  858. >You begin to sob now
  859. >”Sssssssh sweetie, please.”
  860. >”Please….smile for me…”
  861. >You cradle her in your arms
  862. >She wipes away your tears
  863. >You slowly smile at her
  864. >She smiles more warmly now
  865. >”Someday we’ll meet again *unf* I know we will…”
  866. >You shake your head
  867. >She can’t die
  868. >She can’t leave you here!
  869. >”I know it’s hard, but I’m….I’m going away for a little while okay sweetie?”
  870. >She sniffles a little
  871. >”I love you Anon and I will love you forever.”
  872. >”*unf* Th-think of this as going to sl-sleep….”
  873. >”I’ll even s-sing you a lullaby.”
  874. >She wheezes and looks at you
  875. >”H-hush now, quiet now~”
  876. >You hold back your tears
  877. >”It's time to l-lay your…. sleepy head~”
  878. >You maintain your smile despite it faltering
  879. >Her body begins to glow her essence is fading away
  880. >”Hush….. now, q-q-quiet now~”
  881. >”It’s time to…go to b…”
  882. >She’s gone
  883. >Her essence fades away completely and she disappears in your arms
  884. >You stop smiling
  885. >You begin to sob
  886. >Everyone does
  887. >You gather around
  888. >Trying to confirm if this just happened
  889. >It begins to rain
  890. >You look up at the statue of Discord
  891. >It’s cracking
  892. >So that’s it
  893. >He still wins
  894. >You look at your self
  895. >Your shirt is soaked in her blood
  896. >The only thing in your hands now is her necklace
  897. >The Element of Kindness is dead
  898. >Equestria is done for…
  899. >You look at the only remnant you have of her
  900. >Your hands shake
  901. >Your tears fall freely
  902. >Everyone seems to have lost hope
  903. >You stare at her necklace
  904. >You hear her words to you
  905. >”Listen to me sweetie, you can make things right….there’s always a way.”
  906. >”I know you can find a way Anon you’re so kind, resourceful, smart, and I believe in you.….”
  907. >You look around you
  908. >You’re not sure if you should or could do this
  909. >Slowly and carefully you put on the necklace
  910. >It’s a tight fit, but it’s secure around you
  911. >At first nothing really happens
  912. >Then you feel a warmth run through you
  913. >As if she were still here
  914. >Like the days when you trusted her
  915. >It’s a wonderful feeling
  916. >Your eyes widen when you feel the necklace shift and glow
  917. >It is now an emblem of two butterflies
  918. >You’re shaking
  919. >Everyone is looking at you
  920. >All of you are displaying sorrow
  921. >Twilight speaks slowly
  922. >”*snf* Y-you….you?”
  923. >”The Element of Kindness?”
  924. >You’re surprised too
  925. >Every looks uncertain
  926. >They don’t entirely trust you
  927. >Rarity speaks slowly through her sobs
  928. >”Sh-she told us everything….about what she did to you….”
  929. >She sighs sadly
  930. >”B-but I don’t feel it excuses you for trying to release Discord!”
  931. >”And now she’s gone!”
  932. >She whimpers
  933. >”She’s gone.”
  934. >You shake your head
  935. >She’s not gone, at least not entirely
  936. >You motion to your necklace and to your heart
  937. >Rarity seems to understand, but hangs her head
  938. >Discord’s statue begins to crack even more
  939. >You point to the statue
  940. >Rainbow Dash nods and stands beside Twilight
  941. >You all slowly stand beside each other
  942. >You hear Discord laugh
  943. >”Is that your best plan? Finding a monkey to replace her?”
  944. >None of you respond, your faces are expressionless and empty
  945. >You all close your eyes
  946. >United in your sorrow, and determination
  947. >You can feel them
  948. >The ones you call your friends
  949. >All of them
  950. >A connection that transcends your bodies
  951. >It fills you and power rushes in to your minds
  952. >You begin to rise from the ground
  953. >You are not alarmed
  954. >You glow along with everyone else
  955. >”Oh no…he really is a replacement…”
  956. >From all of you a rainbow of light shoots out
  957. >It engulfs the statue
  958. >It’s pose goes back to becoming terrified
  959. >The stone repairs itself
  960. >You all float back down to the ground
  961. >It’s done
  962. >The clouds are gone
  963. >And you see a beautiful sunrise shine down on all of you
  964. >But you don’t feel like celebrating
  965. >None of you do
  966.
  967. >ONE YEAR LATER
  968. >”Dear Princess Celestia,”
  969. >”I’ve been meaning to write this to you for some time now. Things have gone back to normal since the incident. None of my friends were happy with me or Fluttershy. But we’re learning to forgive each other, we’re still friends. That’s what I want to write to you about. I’ve been wondering almost every day since she left us. Why did I become the Element of Kindness? I didn’t know what I felt when I refused Discord, and what followed after. But it was something I learned some time ago. Revenge is not path that solves our problems. It’s about being the better person and the need to forgive each other.”
  970. >”Your subject, Anon.”
  971. >You put the quill down
  972. >You’ll deliver this later
  973. >It’s time to visit her
  974. >You exit the cottage with Angel close behind
  975. >Fluttershy left you behind her entire property
  976. >You’ve since taken over caring for the animals
  977. >You’re not as good as she was, but you’re trying and getting better
  978. >You walk along the meadow until you arrive at her headstone
  979. >At the spot you two used to picnic together
  980. >Her headstone has her cutie mark engraved with her name displayed on it
  981. >You smile and begin to sign to her
  982. >You sign: “I don’t know if you can see this, but I want you to know that you gave me everything here.”
  983. >You sign: “You wronged me, but I love you and you redeemed yourself….I didn’t want to admit it but I never really hated you.”
  984. >You sign: “Two wrongs don’t make a right, and that’s why….”
  985. >You pull out a picture frame from your coat
  986. >It’s the picture of you and Fluttershy hugging
  987. >You place it next to her headstone upright
  988. >You feel your mouth open
  989. That’s why I forgive you.
  990. >You nearly gasp
  991. >Tears run down your eyes
  992. >You hope she heard you
  993. >For some sign
  994. >Anything
  995. >Angel nudges your leg
  996. >You look up to see many butterflies fly closely
  997. >You smile
  998. >You set off with Angel to take care of the animals and the worlds many wonders
  999. >End
