Sam/Shula Shadow Run (Part 1)

[10:05]	Arkalest	Hydra’s voice fills your ears as she swims forwards, with the two of you riding one of her gigantic, pale dorsal fins. You’re latching to the grooved, bone-like corals growing over the white scales, and you can see the organic jacking ports, the titanium inserts and the supermaterial mesh criss crossing them.
[10:05]	Arkalest	She is singing something that is half whalesong and half hum, the glowing scales on her fins being the only source of light in this dark, sunless sea. Behind you, her dorsal tentacles trail off into the darkness lazily, coiling and uncoiling with an almost languid frequency.
[10:06]	Arkalest	The lights of Xibalba's base are a far off green blur in the black distance, and Hydra is slowly lowering herself as she proceeds.
[10:08]	Arkalest	| Well, kids. This is your stop. |
[10:11]	Shula	Shula shivers and looks around in the darkness| Thanks for this |
[10:11]	Arkalest	A gigantic forearm covered in eye-searing grey runes waves lazily in the water. | Go on, do what you must.|
[10:11]	Sam	gently pushes off from Hydra |Thank you, we will contact you when we get out of range of the pillars.|
[10:12]	Arkalest	-------
[10:13]	Arkalest	The pillars upon which the ocenaogrpahic platform rests are a dark grey, illuminated by dozens of searchlights affixed to the scaffolding supporting them. They are filled with activity: Robots and divers slowly floating around them, checking on the cabling, testing mooring points- All of their attention seem to be turned inwards, with very little personnel or robots even attempting to stray...
[10:13]	Arkalest	...away a few meters from the orange scaffolding.
[10:13]	Arkalest	As you advance, you notice that the seafloor slopes up to meet the pillars’ base, in an incredibly regular war- There are no rocks, no crevices or any sort of natural features: Only a strata of grey powder, dotted with the occasional powered-down piece of machinery and ducts.
[10:18]	Arkalest	Each of the smaller pillars seem to be connected to the main pillar at the base by maintenance conduitsthat run parallel to the ground, big enough for a man to comfortably float through.
[10:18]	Arkalest	They are accessible through hexagon shaped entrances near the pillar's bases- The closest two to you are respectively guarded by two divers fixing a light, and by three drones lifting a small container.
[10:19]	Arkalest	You could either try those two, or attempt to get to the main pillar..

[10:20]	Sam	looks around, trying to find a less risky entrance option.
[10:21]	Arkalest	Sam: There are small drone bays dotting the base of the pillar- Opening every now and then to let a drone pass, the doors closing slow enough for you to get in. A few of the scaffolds seem to have small maintenance airlocks at the base, with no peronnel monitoring them- But they seem to need a code for entry.
[10:22]	Sam	|Shula, could go in via one of the drone entrances, or see if we can get N to hack a door, assuming there's a port for it.|
[10:23]	Arkalest	Sam: [OKAY THOSE DRONES LOOK REALLY BAREBONES FOR A SUPPOSED BLACKSITE. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS PLACE]
[10:25]	Sam	[Thoughts N? Drone bay or one of those maintenance airlocks?, and yeah this shit is weird. Budget problems? Maybe they didn't expect someone to do this? I mean it is kinda crazy.]
[10:29]	Arkalest	Sam: [THEY ALMOST CERTAINLY KEEP A LOG OF THE TIMES THE MAINTENANCE AIRLOCKS OPEN AND CLOSE, AND THE DRONE BAYS CERTAINLY HAVE WEIGHT SENSORS. YOUR BEST BET IS..ACTUALLY GETTING BEHIND A DRONE CARRYING CARGO.]

[10:46]	Arkalest	[THERE'S THE CHANCE THAT THEY HAVE ONLY A PROGRAM LOGGING IN THE VARIOUS USAGES WHICH THEN ARE CHECKED AFTERWARDS FOR DISCREPANCIES, BUT...THAT'S A GAMBLE.]
[10:47]	Sam	[So is sneaking in with the drone. This whole thing is a gamble, but where are the best odds?]
[10:48]	Arkalest	[THEY PROBABLY HAVE CAMERAS ON THE DRONE BAYS AND IN THE TUNNELS, BUT THEY PROBABLY AREN'T CHECKED EXTENSIBELY.]

[11:04]	Arkalest	You slide into the rectangular cargo bay following a submarine-like drone that is holding a piece of supermaterial in its manipulators.  The water drains as the door close behind you, and the drone bay opens.
[11:05]	Arkalest	It's basically a miniature hangar, with several minisubs suspended on rails. A drone on thread slips forwards and starts towing the submarine out of the cargo bay and towards one of the rails.
[11:06]	Arkalest	There are seemingly two ways out: A maintenance hatch on the floor, near the center of the room, and a door at the other end of the hangar.
[11:08]	Arkalest	[HATCH'S PROLLY MONITORED, AND THE DOOR REQUIRES A COMBINATION. IT COULD BE HACKED...]
[11:09]	Sam	(Can Sam fit the fiberoptic camera past the door?)
[11:10]	Shula	(where are the drone bringing there stuff? ie do we want to risk using the rails in case it looks like one is not going for a incerator?
[11:10]	Arkalest	(No, it's sealed tight.)
[11:10]	Arkalest	The drones are dropping their equipment into slots at the base of the rails- Which then close.
[11:11]	Sam	(Good way to get crushed I think.)
[11:11]	Arkalest	Judging by the whirring you hear afterwards, it's some sort of miniature cargo elevator.
[11:14]	Sam	(Can Sam's Soulsight look past the door?)
[11:14]	Sam	(To see if there is anyone on the other side?)

[11:35]	Arkalest	The door opens almost immediately, with two HAZMAT-suited technicians stepping through- Letting you inside the spherical room they were occupying.
[11:36]	Arkalest	It's filled with various screens and desks, with control interfaces for the drones- Two of them are turned towards one of the screen, talking loudly to each other.

[12:01]	Sam	pings the box on Shula's HUD. [Let's top off.] He jacks into the box to recharge his suit.
[12:02]	Arkalest	The holograms tell you that this is Side Strut N°5  and that you are headed to the central strut.

[12:07]	Sam	[Grab the BioWep samples, any and all data we can grab, plus anything else that seems useful, and then leave.]

[12:09]	Arkalest	[NO I MEAN WE REVERSE ENGINEER IT...AND THEN COMMAND REALIZES THEY ARE MISSING A SAMPLE.]
[12:10]	Sam	[They don't know that we know that it's here. Hydra will have the samples, and we'll burn all the gear. If all goes to plan we'll come back from our honeymoon and Command won't know who took it.]

[12:20]	Sam	(Not gap to fit the fiberoptic camera I take it?)
[12:21]	Arkalest	(Not in the heavy doors. The maintenance tunnel is fair game.)

[12:23]	Arkalest	Sam: There seem to be a duct- And then a sort of platform with a ladder, leading down.

[12:45]	Arkalest	The only exit is a hexagonal tunnel entrance- Leading towards a long, dark hexagonal tunnel with blue lights interspecies every now ansd then.

[12:53]	Arkalest	The walls are covered in blue and orange energy lines thrumming softly, and four hexadron-shaped blocks of grey materials float at the center of the room, semmingly suspended over  circular platforms of Geofrontium.
[12:53]	Arkalest	Your feet are envloped in a chilly mist, and there are distant sounds coming from the three entrances- Like an etheral humming.
[12:54]	Arkalest	Sam: You feel..:Weirdly drawn to the one on the left. It exhudes a sense of..Familiarity.
[12:54]	Arkalest	[OKAY I AM SHITSTUNTED AS TO WHERE GO NOW. ]
[12:54]	Sam	[This is not what I expected. N? What is this?] Sam narrows his eyes and slowly creeps over to the left, inspecting it closely

[12:55]	Shula	|The.. right one feels familar. but.. there is also something with the central one..|

[13:01]	Arkalest	There's a short buzz on N's frequence. [OOOOOKAY, readings off the scale in the center. Some sort of power generator- OR SOMETHING STUDYING ENERGY.]
[13:01]	Sam	[Ok, so I think the right tunnel is the cavern that the BioWep was at. Left might be a lab. Central is. . . there's something there.]
[13:02]	Shula	|Something that, is not our target now I think..|
[13:03]	Sam	[No, not yet. Shula I think we may need to split up. If the sample is at the end of one of these it's prolly the left or right. I'll go left, you go right. Contact me before you grab anything in case there's alarms. Sound good?]

[13:17]	Shula	shivers and then goes for the other one.
[13:17]	Arkalest	You are at the entrance of...Some sort of bridge, suspended over some...Sort of sea. Which perfectly reflects the sky.
[13:17]	Sam	[Ohh what the fuck.]
[13:17]	Arkalest	The clouded, starry grey sky, with a massive Moon covered in runes hanging nearby- And a gigantic golden hemispher at the horizon.
[13:18]	Arkalest	The sky's filled with thousands of spike-like structures, floating orbs and pyramids- All connected by struts. At the "center" of this fantastic environ a single pyramid that might be...Hundreds of kilometers from side to side, with a single strut shooting up in the sky and disappearing.
[13:19]	Arkalest	And past the bridge of grey material there is a hexagonal pillar. On top, a hill upon which golden light shines- A grassy hill with slopes covered in trees.
[13:19]	Arkalest	At the top, a rather coozy-looking, squat home, with large windows. Music drifts from that direction, nearly dronwed out by the sound of the waterfalls pouring off from some of the structures.
[13:20]	Arkalest	Sam: Stairs start the end of the bridge, into the side of the hill- leading up to the house.

[13:24]	Arkalest	Shula: The walls disintegrate as you move forward. They segment into tiles, and then the tiles start to float. You find youself at the beginning of a brdige- Leading to the pyramid that is sitting at the center of a massive, spherical room illuminated by cyan globes of coral hanging in the air.

[13:24]	Arkalest	Shula: The pyramid is covered in spikes emblazoned with Deep One runes- And the bridge leads to an iris-like entrance.
[13:24]	Shula	(I assume that I reloaded it ark)

[13:25]	Sam	(We both recharged in the Maintenance tunnel, and we both have batteiries for it as well.)
[13:25]	Arkalest	Sam: It's...Quaint. You can spot drawers covered in flower pots, white-tinted walls, parquet floors...A semicircular living room overlooking the hill. It'd be trivial sneaking into it.

[13:32]	Arkalest	Shula: There are no traps- But you can see that the bottom half of the chamber is filled with crystalline water....Supine forms lie at the bottom, all scales and coiled tentacles.
[13:34]	Arkalest	Shula:[A HIBERNATION CHAMBER. NOW THA'T SNOVEL...]
[13:34]	Sam	silently raises the smg. Still behind her.
[13:35]	Arkalest	Sam: She slowly turns around, raising her hands. Johanna Makinami blinks. "Are you one hundred percent sure of what you are about to do?"
[13:35]	Arkalest	"I mean, are you really sure you want to shoot me dead?"
[13:35]	Sam	"Precautionary measure." He says, voice garbled through the modulator.
