Nova

Alexa Hawkins was once a normal med student, ok that was a lie she was never by any definition of the word, 'normal', she had grown up having murderous fantasies her whole life, ranging from simply poisoning someone to some disturbingly descriptive ones, like the one person who's eyes she wanted to remove with a melon-baller, then peeling the skin off his face with an apple peeler, these may seem sick to us, but these kinds of thoughts made her happy. She was smart enough however to know that she couldn't act on any of her fantasies, no matter how badly she wanted to. As a result throughout her life she ended up repressing a lot of darkness within her, then she died at 25. She was seated in the back seat of the car she was in with two friends when they were caught in a head-on collision caused by the other vehicle. Alexa was trapped, the framework of the car had crushed her leg, so she had no way to get out on her own. Alexa watched her friends get dragged from the wreckage but before rescuers could reach her, fire had reached the gas tank, she died in the explosion that followed. Thing was both of Alexa's friends had sustained far less serious injuries than she did, and would have been able to get out of the wreckage on their own, she was the only one who actually needed help. Worse yet was that the driver of the other car, who it turned out had been texting when they crashed, survived the accident, Alexa was not happy with that. She was even more infuriated when she saw that the man who had killed her didn't even seem to care that his selfishness had cost someone else their life.

That rage bound her to this plane as a Fire Demon, it took time for her to figure out her powers, but once she did she decided to make her murderer pay for his crime, not to mention she could finally act out some of the dark desires she had kept pent away her entire human life. Now that she was no longer human she no longer needed a human name, being able to create fires and explosions at will caused the Demoness to rename herself Nova. When she finally tracked down the man responsible for the car wreck that killed her, and found he was still behaving in an dangerously selfish manner, texting while driving, being one of the many things she saw that infuriated her. Nova began using her newly trained powers to torment the man who had, in her opinion, unjustly ended her life. Everywhere he went fires would break out, he lost 3 jobs due to the buildings catching fire, in what was always ruled as being caused by faulty wiring, shortly after he was hired. He lost his girlfriend in one of Nova's first house fires, she had been scouting out the place for weeks, figuring out some way to strike, yet not make it obviously arson. She noticed the man's girlfriend kept a can of bacon grease in the kitchen, she used it to grease pans obviously. Lucky for Nova though bacon grease is highly flammable, so she waited, she knew sooner or later one of them would knock the tin over. Her patience was rewarded, one night while the man was out searching for a job, his girlfriend was home alone making some dish Nova had never seen before on the stove top, they had a gas stove, she reached for something but hadn't been paying close enough attention and she accidentally knocked the tin of grease over. A Sadistic smile grew on Nova's face as this was exactly what she had been waiting for, with a flick of her hand, one of the flames from the stove top jumped to the spilt bacon grease. It immediately erupted into an inferno, and the woman, who had been attempting to clean up the mess was right in the center of it. Nova didn't even need to use flames to block the exits, she burned to death far too quickly for her to have ever had a chance. When the man returned home and saw the fire trucks, and upon telling them that the house in question was his, was informed a corpse charred beyond recognition had been found near the source of the fire, the man never quite recovered from that. For months she continued haunting him, driving away any other human being who came anywhere close to her target, it grew to the point people started to believe the man was cursed considering fires seemed to follow him everywhere. Soon the man began to believe he was cursed as well, after all fires had killed his girlfriend had burnt down countless places he tried working, and had scared every sane person away from him. Half-convinced he truly was cursed the man spiraled into a deep depression, and since everyone who knew him thought he was cursed, he had no one left to help him work through his depression. He wouldn't even go to a therapist for fear of bringing his "curse" there too. If he had gone to a therapist Nova would have burnt down their building as well so he wasn't totally wrong about his "curse". In the end Nova waited until the man got into another car wreck, one far worse this time, he ended up trapped inside his vehicle, just like she had been back when she had died, meaning she had the chance to blow up his gas tank killing him the same way she died, a taste of karma she thought, though right before she let the gas tank blow she found she was finally able to appear before her victim in a visible form. He didn't recognize her at first, considering her appearance changed drastically when she became a Demon, but she made sure he knew just who was going to be murdering him. The woman who he had killed in a car wreck then hadn't even cared that he had caused someone's death, he paled he hadn't forgotten about killing that young woman, but he never suspected that that action would define the rest of his life. The last words the man ever heard were, "Ready for the Grande Finale?"

She decided to stick with the name Nova since her preferred method of killing is to cause explosions. She usually strikes gas tanks or gas stations, though she can create her own explosions if she wants to. She takes a sick pleasure in delaying explosions until would-be rescuers are within range before allowing the car to blow, killing them in the process. Nova had almost twenty-five years worth of dark murderous fantasies she could finally act out, well to a degree anyway. Her abilities include being able to create small to somewhat large fires and explosions on her own, no one is quite sure why but the flames Nova creates on her own are vibrant shades of purple, she likes it though since tormenting mortals with purple fire makes it much easier to drive them insane, if that was how she felt like torturing that particular victim, controlling already existing fires, and traveling through flames similar to Floo Powder from Harry Potter. Nova does have a few more tricks up her sleeve as well, but she keeps those secret, no one really knows the full depth of her abilities. Nova tends to kill people who have caused fatal car accidents or are risks for causing car accidents, like drunk drivers or people who drive whilst on the phone, and people who would rescue accident victims, yeah she’s still a bit bitter about the whole 'not being saved thing'. Though Nova tends to pick specific targets when she scouts out locations, she enjoys killing innocent bystanders when she finally does strike. She has long fiery red hair that’s always pulled back in a ponytail, if it wasn't her hair would be waist length, before death her hair was brown, but her rebirth as a fire Demon changed that. Nova was a very small woman in life, at only 5'2". She wears smoke stained Jeans and a black T-shirt, fire damaged versions of the clothes she died in, along with comfortable running shoes when she's out hunting. When she's just relaxing she is usually found in jeans and band shirts. Nova really doesn't care about looking sexy, as she once put it, "I'm here to kill people not seduce them," in her opinion purposefully trying to look sexy, while going killing, defeats the purpose of being a mass murderer. Her eyes have red pupils, with black sclera except her pupils are actually tiny embers, she wears sunglasses when around normal humans so they don’t see that, eventually Nova learned how to become permanently visible to humans. It’s a trait inherent in all Demons to have black sclera and red irises/pupils, not to mention bloody tears. Also her ears are long and pointed, like how Elves' ears were always described in fantasy novels. Again that's another trait all Demons share. Nova always whispers the phrase "Ready for the Grande Finale?" to her chosen victim, right before directing the fires to cause the massive lethal explosions.
