Determined to save as many families as possible from the same fate, George created a business focused around sheltering the homeless and putting them back to work, whether by acting as an employment agency or taking them onto his own payroll. This was possible mostly by his uncanny ability to find projects to work on no matter what else was going on. In certain circles it was said that if you needed a job, he could find you one - and if he couldn't find you one, he could make one for you.

  12. And then one day he announced he was selling his businesses and flying out to the central american CZ with a small roster of doctors, former SWAT personnel and ex-military veterans.

  14. Speculation abounds about the rationale behind this decision, and some say the man's genius finally gave way to tragic madness. Others suspect that on a recent visit to the site of his father's death he was overcome by the fact that collapse zones could be allowed to exist at all, determined to do something about them or perish in the attempt.

Thrown together by a maverick businessman with his profits from the past decade (give or take a couple of years) ARCHANGEL is a program that intends to restore the central american collapse zone to some level of civilisation. Though they have a handful of representatives scattered across the world, their closest ties are with The Union, SADTO and whatever central american governments still cling to some semblance of order - seeking investment from anyone who would be glad to see shipping through the panama canal resume. Their representatives extol the neutrality and sovereignty of ARCHANGEL, and whether it is this neutrality, the independence or the sheer maverick insanity of its founder's goals, it is seen as a mostly-harmless attempt by a well meaning if possibly unhinged young man to bring some stability to the region.

They aim to establish a headquarters on the coast of Panama on the outskirts of the city of Colón, where they will run a campaign of humanitarian aid including a modest clinic for whatever locals aren't aligned with the most ruthless local warlords. The well-equipped paramilitary staff offers a degree of protection - but for now, ARCHANGEL and its leader amount to little more than just another warband with a foreign leader at its head.
