[AN: the chapter opening, Ellsy and Bene's airship ride]

E: Eeeeeee! Ben, I'm so excited!
B: For the airship ride or for the wedding?
E: Hehe! I can't believe it's finally happening. It took her long enough, right?
B: Ah, I guess. I'm just wondering... why Hugel?
E: Oh. Sir Glass was married there a while back, and he recommended it to her. They have a chapel that's open and airy and it's supposed to be beautiful. And it

has a lot more room than the Prontera church. There'll be lots of guests, so...
B: Yeah, the first Angevon family wedding in over two decades. Everyone has to be there.
E: When we get there, I'll have to go find my sister. We brought dresses together last week. I'll be really busy, I might not see you gain til the end.
B: That's fine. I don't mind being a guest on my own.
E: I feel bad, though...
B: You're a bridesmaid. That's more important.
E: Thanks Ben.

(they land)

E: Okay, I'm off.
B: Good luck, Ellsy!

[AN: Bene meets Carl at the wedding]

B: Gosh, what a line. So many people... I stand out in my acolyte clothes, but Ellsy said it was okay...
C: Yo Bene!
B: Carl?
C: Fancy meeting you here, eh? So glad I kept the tux in storage, haha.
B: I guess Ellsy invited you, too?
C: Ah, no, actually
B: A wedding crasher?
C: I'm here as someone else's guest.
B: I can't imagine ...
R: Hey Carl, come on! They're going to seat us all together.
C: Ah, sorry Bene, we'll talk later, okay?
B: Okay...

C:  Is half the country invited or something?
B:  Pretty much... though we're only in as Ellsy's guests.
E:  Hehe.
C:  Well, go get dressed.
B:  You should lose the hat.
C:  Ah, fine...

K:  Lily, what are you doing here?
L:  Lavian made me a guest.  Sit with me during the wedding?
K:  /shy (this will be incredibly awkward)  I'm the best man.
L:  Oh...
K:  We'll talk at the reception, okay?
L:  All right.

[AN: Colin was added as an afterthought at Soma's suggestion]

K: I had a fight with him earlier, anyway. I don't want to see him right now.
L: What happened?
K: He's just an idiot.


SJ: Congratulations, Kyrsa!
K: Are you out of your mind?
SJ: Oh... Rune?
R: Pops, it's Lady Lavian who's getting married.
SJ: Oh!
K: You'll never see me walking down the aisle.
SJ: Why not?
K: I'm married to the church!
SJ: So was your mother.

L: An emperium...
E: But... you're the best Knightmaster. Feargus would be awful. He doesn't have the patience for anything.
L: Well, I'm running out of patience myself.
E: There's got to be a way to reduce the paperwork you do. Set limits for yourself, or something. You've always got to allow time for things you enjoy. So, make

more field days for yourself. You are the boss.
L: Well, I didn't say I was going to quit today. And I've tried several things to change the paperowrk trail. But it turns out that if I reduce it, then someone

else ends up making more, anyway! It's hell.
E: Then the limits.
L: I could try that. But I don't see myself behind a desk for the rest of my life.
E: Make it less of your job. Or something.
L: There's something else I wanted to say, but not here.

E: I don't know, Keth. It's all happening so fast.

Barkeep: Here's your order. Enjoy!

E: Not really hungry...
L: Same. Let's go back.

(she leads him down the road)

E: Umm, Lady Lavian, this isn't the Knights' Guild...
L: I know. I wanted to go somewhere. Just you and me.

(it's the hedge maze)

E: I don't want to be here. Bad memories...
L: Neither do I, but you can't deny it's private. We... we'll need privacy for this.

E: Are you ... going to make a guild right now?
L: No. Edgar... Edgar, do you still love me?

E: How... why would you ask such a thing?

L: Kethios told me...
E: Is nothing I told him safe? No, don't answer.

E: Look, it doesn't matter anyway. Nothing could come of it. I knew that from the start.

L: You're wrong. Edgar, I love you.

SJ: That was a joke! Carry on!

KA: I still can't believe he did that. I -this close- to getting up and hitting him!
EA: And after I told him to be good! Hehe.
KA: I know, right? He doesn't listen to anyone! And he missed the rehearsal!
EA: Yeah! How could he!
KA: Frankly I'm surprised he even showed up. And to bring all those people as guests! What was he thinking?
EA: It's lucky we had room for everyone here in Hugel.
KA: They were so common!
EA: Kyrsa... you realize our new brother-in-law is common, right?
KA: Yes, I know. I don't have to like it!
EA: Well, at least dad came! I'm sure Lavian was happy to see him anyway.
KA: ... yeah ...

SJ: I'm sorry again. I thought it would be funny.
E: It was. Kind of. Very, uh, memorable.
SJ: But I should have cleared it with you first, Lavi.
L: (sigh) It's fine, Dad. Though you only get married once.
SJ: Ahhh...
E: Well... If you really want to spar sometime, I might be up for it.
L: He was only joking.
E: Still, I should get to know your father, right?
SJ: Heh. Willing to cross swords with me? I think I like this man.
SJ: All in good time! Now I just want you to enjoy your honeymoon. Please accept my blessing, Edgar, Lavian.
L: Thank you, Dad.
E: Thank you.

PR: Pops, when do you want to leave? The party seems to be winding down.
SJ: Ah, Rune.
PR: Whoa, old man, are you okay?
SJ: I'm fine. I always cry after weddings. They make me think of, well...
PR: Your wife. I'm sorry.
SJ: Ahhh. Not your fault, my friend.

[AN: I had a lot of trouble writing Carl and Bene talking about Ellsy]

B: What have you been doing?
C: Believe or not, I've been reading!

B: Not the Bible?
C: Don't make me laugh. You know I'm a devout atheist.
B: I didn't know that, actually. But don't say things like that...
C: What, you think Sleipnir will suddenly trample me? An 8-legged horse, whoever heard of such a thing.

B: Carl...

C: Nah, man, I've been reading this.
B: It doesn't even have a cover.

C: Listen to this. "Grampa's Cookbook"
C: Let's just flip to a random recipe and...
(The recipe book has several recipes for Gelatin/quiche made of poring.)
B: Umm...
C: Oh, I guess it is kind of boring, but I've been reading so much academic garbage with my new job that it's kind of a relief.
B: Oh, you have a job then. That's... good? I guess we won't be seeing you for a while.
C: It's only temporary. I think I've, oh, maybe a couple of months left of work to do, at most.
B: Well, I'll tell Ellsy, I guess. We haven't been doing much without you. She's... actually kind of lazy when you get right down to it.
C: Yeah... Ellsy...
B: Oh, right! I should have told you. Umm, you know she didn't mean anything by that kiss she gave you.
C: ... what. You're kidding me.
B: So she says. But she was rather annoying during the entire wedding. I mean, your almost wedding, not this one.
C: You don't say. I can't say I'm interested in her in that way.
B:

B: Carl, are you going to come with us back to Prontera?
C: Ah, well, that is -- I have plans.
B: Oh...
C: I wish I could tell you, but it's TOP SECRET. I'm like a spy or something.
B: Really...
C: Nope. But I'm translating secret documents. That's true.
B: ...
C: I gotta get going, Bene. I'll be back sometime, I promise.
B: I'll let Ellsy know.

C: Yeah, it's Cool Event Corp, or something. But eh, they do the same thing.
K: Do you have access to blue gems or not??
C: Yeah, got plenty from all the Vadons and Marinas we've murdered at Byalan.
K: Hurry up and get some! Your friend Solor's in trouble.
C: Wait, what?

C: So, he got warped to Glast Heim. I know he's got Teleport so he can go home any time, but he's protecting this noblelady until you can bring enough blue gems to

warp everyone home?
K: Basically.
C: Damn, and the Aesir Ciel have already left.

it's wanderlust. symbolic for carl being kind of lost on the road.

[AN: I decided not to have Sir Glass come to the wedding because it'd be awkward for Edgar. Honeymoon plans will be revealed in C7].

[AN: As you can see, a lot of what happened wasn't written in here. That means I came up with it at the time of making the comics, i.e. I just plugged the dialogue
