  8. Offensive (Breloom) @ Focus Sash
  9. Ability: Technician
  10. EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
  11. Jolly Nature
  12. - Spore
  13. - Mach Punch
  14. - Bullet Seed
  15. - Protect
  16.
  17. The standard offensive set for Breloom to run, Maximum EVS in physical attack and speed with a jolly nature combined with technician boosted STAB Bullet Seed and priority Mach Punch make Breloom a threat in the Doubles Metagame. Also, Spore has been given a considerable buff with the current testing of Sleep Clause which means that Breloom can constantly fire off Spore at the opponent. Protect is standard, shielding Breloom from its 4x weakness to Talonflame's Brave Bird as well as other super effective attacks that Breloom will not survive. However, if you do need Breloom to take a hit I've added Focus Sash as an item to cover for its weak defensive stats and common weaknesses.
  18. Tyranitar makes a great partner for this set, being able to handle the fire, flying, and psychic types that Breloom fears, while Breloom covers Tyranitar's weakness to water types. Heatran also makes a strong partner for Breloom, often forcing your opponent to not go for Heatwave, fearing the Flash Fire Boost from Heatran. Breloom works well on a rain team as well, threatening Rotom-W and Gastrodon, both of which give rain teams trouble. Breloom also threatens opposing weather setters [Mega] Tyranitar and [Mega] Abomnasnow with STAB + technician boosted Mach Punch. Breloom also likes to pair up with something that can take out apposing grass types, which Breloom cannot touch or spore.
  19.
  20. Sleep Abuse (Breloom) @ Choice Scarf
  21. Ability: Technician
  22. EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
  23. Jolly Nature
  24. - Spore
  25. - Bullet Seed
  26. - Safeguard
  27. - Mach Punch
  28.
  29. Being choice locked into a non-damaging move is usually not a good idea, however giving Breloom a choice scarf allows it to outspeed and sleep the opponent with the 100% accurate spore. The EV spread makes sure that Breloom has puts offensive pressure on the opponent (another quality that separates Breloom from other sleep inducers) with maximum speed to outpace as much as possible. Mach Punch is a clean 2HKO on Mega Kangaskhan but if you really want to OHKO it you can give Technician Breloom Force Palm and an adamant nature however the main purpose of this set is too abuse sleep so I opted for maximum speed investment.
  30.
  31. Mega Kangaskhan is the perfect teammate for this set especially, but any pokemon with Fake Out works as well. The strategy is to lead with Kangaskhan and Breloom and use Fake Out on opposing users of Fake Out, or anything that would get in the way of Breloom using Spore like Talonflame or Prankster + Safeguard Meowstic/Kelfki and then Spore the biggest threat. Mega Kangaskhan is free to use Power-Up Punch or Return while Breloom puts the Second opponent to sleep.
  32.
  33. Other sleep inducers like Amoonguss and Chlorophyll Venusaur threaten this strategy because of their immunity to Spore, so Safeguard is used beside the 2 STAB moves to keep your partner awake and hitting while you swap Breloom out the next turn.
  34.
  35. Checks & Counters
  36.
  37. Fire, Flying, and Psychic types threaten Breloom because of its weakness, particularly Talonflame who can use a priority Brave Bird to OHKO Scarf Breloom before it can use Spore. Latios, Latias, and Charizard Y also wall Breloom completely but are outsped by Scarfed Breloom. Prioirty users like [Mega] Scizor, Weavile, and Mamoswine can OHKO non-sashed Breloom easily however the ice types must be warry of Mach Punch. Breloom is walled completely by bulky grass types like Amoonguss and [Mega] Venusaur who resist Breloom's STAB moves and are immune to Spore. Uncommon threats are pokemon that use Worry Seed to transfer the ability Insomnia to the target, or Pokemon that have Insomnia naturally.
