  1. >You’re journey to the library is a slow one.
  2. >Your body has not recovered from…whatever was in that needle.
  3. >Was it poison? That would explain why you’re feeling like you’ve been run over by a dozen Mack trucks.
  4. >That would also explain you dying.
  5. >But that does NOT explain anything to do with Fluttershy.
  6. >Your brain hurts already, so you stop that train of thought.
  7. >You look to Twilight, and she looks uncharacteristically lost in thought.
  8. “Hey, Twi.”
  9. >She doesn’t answer for a moment.
  10. >”Twilight.”
  11. >She shakes her head and looks to you, finally.”
  12. >”Sorry, I was…I was just thinking.”
  13. >Why not.
  14. >”About what, exactly?”
  15. >She looks away.
  16. >”Just…about last night. That party was supposed to be a celebration. So many things went wrong…”
  17. “Relax, Twilight. Once we figure out what happened to Fluttershy, everything will be fine. I’m sure I’m probably just…uh…misremembering things.”
  18. >You were a terrible liar.
  19. >You know exactly what happened.
  20. >Or well, mostly.
  21. >You can’t explain why you weren’t wearing pants when you were revived.
  22. >Is that a thing? Are you going to start calling this your second coming?
  23. >”Anon!”
  24. “What?”
  25. >You look down at her, and she’s smiling at you.
  26. >”Looks like you were lost in thought too. We’re here.”
  27. >You look up to the great tree as she opens the door.
  28. >This world was amazing.
  29. >Magical ponies that can talk, magical trees, magical sex.
  30. >Fuckin magical.
  31. >You etch out a smile and walk into the library.
  32. >”Hey Anon! Hey Twilight! How was the party?”
  33. >Spike approaches the two of you, a load of books in his hands.
  34. >You look to Twilight, unable to answer that question truthfully.
  35. >And you couldn’t lie to the little guy. He was only like, one or something.
  36. >”It was fun, Spike. Maybe one of these days you’ll get to come.”
  37. >”Shucks, Twi, you know I don’t like those girlie parties.”
  38. >A party where you made out with Rarity in front of the mane 6, everyone took illegal drugs, and you were somehow left dead on the floor by the end of the night.
  39. >A girlie party.
  40. >”You’re probably right Spike, you wouldn’t have enjoyed how beautiful Rarity looked last night.”
  41. >OH SHIT HE DOESN’T KNOW DOES HE
  42. >You can see him blush.
  43. >OH THIS IS HORRIBLE TWILIGHT WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS
  44. >She catches you losing your shit and makes a quiet ‘shh’ noise.
  45. >”W…what was she wearing? Oh it doesn’t matter what she was wearing…”
  46. >You can see him drool a little, his green eyes turning into little hearts.
  47. >Oh god you cannot handle this.
  48. >You look pleadingly to Twilight, to please end this dragon’s suffering.
  49. >”Spike, I’m going to head down to the lab and run a few more tests on Anon. Oh, and could you send this letter to the Princess?”
  50. >She passes over the letter and you’re honestly curious on what in the world she wrote in there.
  51. >He takes it and sends it immediately with a quaff of green flame.
  52. >As you pass by him you can see him sweating a little.
  53. >The little dragon has a boner for your lady, and you have to keep quiet about it as he lusts after her, right in front of you, because you don’t want to hurt his little dragon feelings.
  54. >You want to scream so hard about how wrong that whole situation was but you were far too tired to deal with this kind of shit.
  55. >Why were you so tired?
  56. >You shrug internally, following Twilight down the stairs, bracing yourself against the wall.
  57. >She flips a light on and several machines whirr on.
  58. >You waddle slowly over to a stool, and Twilight sets some books down on a table, flipping one open.
  59. “So…can I ask a question real quick Twilight.”
  60. >You figure this was a good as time as any.
  61. >”Well, Anon, I’m sure I have just as many questions for you.”
  62. >Wow, good point.
  63. ”Uh…was I really dead?”
  64. >She looks at you with a frown.
  65. >”Anon…when we found you…you weren’t breathing and…and your heart had stopped. So…yes Anon, you were dead.”
  66. >Huh.
  67. >Well you can’t say that’s a load off of your shoulders.
  68. ”…okay.”
  69. >She flips through the books again.
  70. >”Anon, I need you to strip off your clothes and lay down on the table.”
  71. “Can I at least ask why, this time? Haven’t you poked at my body enough?”
  72. >The entire situation is anything but foreign. Twilight had written a brief journal on everything she could find out about humans. This required a lot of ‘testing’, apparently.
  73. >”Anon, if you were just dead and I…I uh…brought you back…don’t you think I need to make sure you’re…that you’re okay?”
  74. >She’s never usually this nervous. Twilight Sparkle is hiding something.
  75. >What, though?
  76. >But she makes sense, regardless.
  77. >You begrudgingly strip down to your super comfy underwear.
  78. >She smiles.
  79. >”Anon, you know I saw you pantsless at the party, right?”
  80. >Oh shit, everp0ny must have.
  81. “Can I still keep them on? It helps me pretend that you’re still innocent.”
  82. >She shrugs.
  83. >Thank god.
  84. >You struggle on to the table, but instead you find yourself slipping and falling off. Twilight catches you mid-fall and hovers you on to the table gently.
  85. >”Be careful, Anon.”
  86. >Hold on a cotton picking minute.
  87. “Hey, Twilight…levitate me again.”
  88. >She raises an eyebrow curiously and shines her magic.
  89. >You rise a few inches off of the table.
  90. >And nothing happens.
  91. ”Twilight...something is wrong. Or well, I guess its right?”
  92. >”What is it Anon?”
  93. “Your magic…it doesn’t hurt any more.”
  94. >A grimace flashes on her face before she regains her demeanor.
  95. >Okay seriously.
  96. ”Twilight.”
  97. >You look to her stern faced, taking a deep breath.
  98. >She looks at you, as if bracing for something.
  99. >”You brought me back to life, and you cured me of my magic allergy. What in the world are you freaking out about?”
  100. >You’re basically yelling at her now, but only as loud as your headache allows.
  101. >You grip your forehead in pain.
  102. >”Anon…I’m freaking out because I just…I just brought you back to life. I’m not supposed to be able to do that.”
  103. >You pause.
  104. “Wait, run that by me again.”
  105. >”Well…”
  106. >She closes the book and walks over to you.
  107. >”That’s actually why I wanted to bring you over here. I mean…yeah…I want to run some more tests but…you’re perfectly fine from what I’ve seen. Tired, maybe.”
  108. “So I can put my clothes back on.”
  109. >She blushes.
  110. “Okay then.”
  111. >You flop off of the table and pull your clothes back on, your little soldier downstairs rather quiet.
  112. >That’s probably for the best. You were in no mood.
  113. “So…what did you do then?”
  114. >She paces slowly to the other side of the room.
  115. >”When unicorns run out of magical energy, in a pinch, we can lend some to one another. I panicked and did the same to you.”
  116. >You cock your head.
  117. “I’m not a unicorn, Twilight.”
  118. >”Which is exactly why it shouldn’t have worked. You’re not even a pony!”
  119. >She huffs in frustration.
  120. >”And I can’t find a single bit of information in any of my books about something like this.”
  121. “Twilight, I’m a human. I doubt your books have anything on me.”
  122. >Silence passes, and you kick your feet idly.
  123. >Twilight goes back to her books.
  124. ”So…can I go then?”
  125. >”Actually, I want to try the spell one more time, just to...confirm my theory.”
  126. “…your theory?”
  127. >She doesn’t answer.
  128. >Instead, she charges a spell, a violet bubble of opaque energy surrounding her.
  129. >A similar bubble surrounds you, connected by a thin beam of magic.
  130. >You can see her furrow her brow in frustration.
  131. >Then your vision goes white in a flash.
  132. >Then just as quickly, your vision returns.
  133. >And holy crap your headache is gone.
  134. >You look down and see Twilight collapsed on the floor.
  135. >SHIT
  136. >You hop off of the table and go to check her.
  137. >She’s just asleep, thank god.
  138. >You stoop down a lift the snoozing pony into your arms.
  139. >She’s a bit heavier than Rarity, but…
  140. >Hold on, she just gave you a ton of magic again, didn’t she?
  141. >That must be why you’re so spry.
  142. >Awesome.
  143. >Well, aside from the whole ‘Twilight Sparkle passing out’ part.
  144. >Now you’ll have to wait for her to wake up to ask her what the hell her ‘theory’ was.
  145. >You stride up the stairs and out of the basement, switching the lights off.
  146. >Spike is busy reshelving some books and drops them as you walk into the foyer.
  147. >”What happened? Is she hurt?”
  148. “Relax, she’s fine. She just tired herself out. If she wakes, tell her thanks for me, will you?”
  149. >You walk out the library with a smile on your face.
  150. >You feel fucking fantastic.
  151. >You stretch wide, your joints popping happily.
  152. >You take a deep breath, the clean air filling your lungs as your body runs at 100%, finally.
  153. >Okay, so we’ve talked shit over with Twilight, on to step two.
  154. >You know you promised Rarity you’d come back as soon as you were finished…but…Rarity can be patient, right?
  155. >You know she can’t.
  156. >Whatever.
  157. >You need to find Fluttershy.
  158. >Where to start though?
  159. >Her cottage was the only place you know she ever was. Other than that, she’d been pretty much outright avoiding you since you stopped working for her.
  160. >Well, until the whole Estrus thing happened.
  161. >You take long strides as you enter the market place.
  162. >You actually pass by the tea pony from earlier, and shoot her a wink.
  163. >You know you have some grim business to deal with.
  164. >Better enjoy the peace while it lasts, right?
  165. >You walk through the forested pathway to her cottage and take some time to enjoy the scenery.
  166. >Today was a new day. And in theory, it was a new life.
  167. >A second chance? Or in your case, a third.
  168. >You try not to hurt your head with semantics.
  169. >This time, things were going to be set right.
  170. >No more rape.
  171. >No more drama.
  172. >Just a tranquil life with the girl of your dreams at your side.
  173. >This really was a dream come true.
  174. >If you disregard all of the other terrible things that seem to happen to you constantly.
  175. >Right, just look past all that and you get to go home to an alcoholic seamstress who only really loves you when she’s too drunk to even walk.
  176. >…this train of thought sure went awry quickly.
  177. >You shake your head of the thoughts as you approach the cottage.
  178. >As always, the chirping of birds and other critters fills the air. You hear a quack and laugh to yourself.
  179. >You approach the door, and even in your confidence you’re still nervous as hell.
  180. >The last time you tried talking to her she drugged you and killed you, apparently.
  181. >…well the other time she cuddled into your lap and everything was fine.
  182. >Well, you’re batting 1:1.
  183. >…well, here goes nothing.
  184. >You knock on the door.
  185. >Three hard raps.
  186. >Silence.
  187. >Your heart is beating like a drum.
  188. >What the hell can you even say?
  189. >Why the fuck did you kill me?
  190. >The door creaks open slightly.
  191. >You brace yourself and…
  192. >…see a pink haired pony poke her teal eye out of the crack.
  193. >Oh good, she’s home.
  194. >…silence…
  195. >”A…anon…” she says finally, tears welling up quickly in her eyes.
  196. >The door flies open and she tackles you.
  197. >In a panicked state you throw her off of you, but she flaps into the air, smiling and…crying.
  198. >What
  199. ”Fluttershy, knock it off. We need to talk.”
  200. >You try and control your anger.
  201. >You hadn’t seen her kill you but…she did it.
  202. >It’s in the past. Right?
  203. >”O…okay Anon…but first…I…I want to apologize.”
  204. >Oh. You’re sorry for killing me?
  205. >Calm down. Let her talk.
  206. >You clench your fist, and it helps with the rage build up.
  207. ”Go on.”
  208. >She hides in her mane, sobbing slightly, avoiding your penetrating glare.
  209. >”I’m s-sorry I didn’t go to the party last night…I…I didn’t want to see you and Rarity s-so happy and…”
  210. >She’s full on bawling now.
  211. >What
