a bullet yearns to be free
in green meadows, a silent death lurks
a bullet is another bird
mountains capped with snow, and laughter
of... what? i do not know,
the gun does not sow its own enemies -
the hired gun: secretly paid off,
on a thread of fiber
and a thin streak of light;
a bullet happily takes flight
another cloud bites the sun
another bird of prey races down
down the rabbit hole, down
the abandoned road, on and down
the throat of the enemy
of the gun - the hired gun.
bird of prey, word of play,
world of grey, lord of decay
a bullet is on its merry way
on and down the throat
of a sheep a pig and a goat
a bullet just raced out
of a gun - of the hired gun
a single tree, the lonely one
a pine tree with a mellow sun
and a dimly shining new moon
rests on a single hill, rests, on a
new moon, old goons, old guns -
old hired guns, running around
old feet, old eyes, old world,
everything is old everything is gold
yet a free bullet is lead
a bullet rears its ugly head
and you will surely be dead
before your time runs out
a bullet turns about
and hits a gun - a hired gun
a tired gun
a tired bullet
i tried, bullet
