  1. Jul 07 17:14:07 <Knave> In the Andromeda common-room, a strange-looking boy is perched in the middle of a couch, leafing casually through a dog-eared notebook. His vibrant orange hair curls and waves wildly down to his shoulders, pushed back and away from his stark, pale face by the band of the opaque goggles resting on his forehead. He hums lightly and awkwardly to himself, knee bouncing impatiently. His stiff posture looks like he's trying and failing to seem relaxed.
  2. Jul 07 17:25:41 <Endorb> of her, Did somebody say stiff? Because Eponnie, the stiff little doll, enters the common room too, her seemingly vacant eyes looking over the place as usual. It takes a second of looking to tell where her pupils even are, blending into her dark blue eyes. her black hair, clearly made of synthetic fibres, goes down to about her waist. Her complexion is a nice creme color, although there is a reflective sheen of her smooth plastic. "Hello." she says, her voice a blunt reminded of her still movements. If it weren't for the stiffness, her voice would have an aire of motherly compassion and of youthful innocence, but those are mostly overwhelmed by the acursed stiffness.
  3. Jul 07 17:32:14 <Knave> "Hello." Emmett responds, looking up at her over the book as he snaps it shut, smiling strangely. His eyes, after a moment of looking at her, light with an odd sparkle. He stands, the notebook disappearing into the inside of his jacket, and walks over to her with a strange, hunched lurch. His index finger rubs his chin as, with no apparent awareness of social grace, he circles her, inspecting her. "Magnificent. An exterior of pure artifice, unlike any manner of golem or chimera, even automata... I trust as well that you are no mere robot, for you would seem to be a student, am I wrong?" He doesn't give nearly enough time to answer, just nods to himself, "Marvellous. Yes. I venture to guess that your animation is owed more to the supernatural than to artifice or natural genesis, yes?"
  4. Jul 07 17:36:34 <Endorb> "Indeed. I was created artificially of plastics and synthetic fibres." The stiffness is slowing down Eponnie's speech, even. She gives no sign of minding him observing her as he is.
  5. Jul 07 17:40:07 <Knave> "I must say, you are impressive. It is rare that I am truly awed." He pulls the goggles down over his eyes and gets uncomfortably close to her scalp. At least, what would be uncomfortable for any human. "The creation of life from whole cloth. The birth from the clay, as it were. Dreamt of. A distant dream." He pulls away, taking a step back to look at the whole of her, "The mechanics of your being interest me greatly. Your creator must have been... singular. As are you." He pushes the goggles back up to his forehead, and his face contorts as if he has thought of a funny joke, "Unless you have siblings, of course."
  6. Jul 07 17:48:21 <Endorb> "I do not. And although I have virtually no evidence, that which I do have points to a single creator, yes." Life? That's a little bit of a stretch. "Although only my hair is made of synthetic fibres."
  7. Jul 07 17:52:11 <Knave> "Then you are estranged from the genius who produced you? Regrettable." He shakes his head, then steps back up to her in a single, sudden movement that looks almost as if he tripped and righted himself halfway, a hand extended to her, "I am Emmett Walter Montgomery Percival Epstein, and if you do not think it too intrusive I should like to study you."
  8. Jul 07 17:54:40 <Endorb> "An arrangement of such is feasible. I am Eponnie." Eponnie returns the handshake. "And indeed, I spent less than twelve hours with him before I was removed."
  9. Jul 07 17:57:09 <Knave> "Removed?" He says, pulling a fresh notebook from his jacket along with a fine, monogrammed pen, scribbling as he speaks, "Forgive me, Miss Eponnie, but your life story is one of great interest to me. Might I infringe upon your time and ask you tell me more?"
  10. Jul 07 18:03:30 <Endorb> "Indeed. I do not know much about my creator, unfortunately. When I was removed, I was placed in a facility, wherein I was imprisoned as a laborer. However, my ignorance was enough that I did not realize I was imprisoned. The only activity I did of my own volition was making dolls, which is something they still managed to use to further their agenda, due to my ability to enchant said dolls in various ways." Eponnie doesn't really seem emotional about this whole thing.
  11. Jul 07 18:06:02 <Knave> "Enchantment." He nods, then mutters to himself as he scribbles, "So many untapped areas of study, so sudden, how to arrange, how to prioritize..." He clears his throat, then returns to full volume and a clearer accent, "And after this period of imprisonment?"
  12. Jul 07 18:18:27 <Endorb> "I escaped under the advice of another, more traditional prisoner, unaware of the implications of my actions. It was then that I took the name of his daughter, attempting to forsake my captors. Afterwards, I found this once facility, perhaps a military complex, and I was transferred around many times before finding my way to Sunnybrook, school for the Supernatural. The studentbase of that facility was eventually transferred to this one."
  13. Jul 07 18:20:33 <Knave> "Fascinating." He writes as she speaks, then stands with pen poised as he asks, "Can you tell me for how long you have been alive? I assume your body does not, in any sense, mature. Unless you modify yourself? Could you? I am sorry. You are exciting."
  14. Jul 07 18:23:46 <Endorb> "I am approximately four years old. My body does not naturally change, and in fact expends energy to remain self-consistent, as well as regenerate from damage. Recently, however, it has been modified magically. Specific areas were softened, and my sense of touch was vastly improved to be on par with a human."
  15. Jul 07 18:28:34 <Knave> Emmett's wide-eyed raccoon-in-a-candystore smile drops into a look of consideration, mouth small and taut. Then, he decides that there are some areas into which he will not delve. He returns to his previous manner of manic curiosity, "Fascinating. The psychological effects - if even they can be considered, as you seem to be... if you do not mind my saying so, somewhat at odds with yourself. Unused to emoting. Human nature does not come to you, an unnatural and supernatural creation, naturally. Nature. Large word. Many meanings." He shakes his head tightly and pulls his mind back in, "I presume you see an expert in the field. A developing mind, only four years old and entirely artificial, interacting with maturing humans daily, it is only natural - heh - that you must need some guidance. Assistance. Even study."
  16. Jul 07 18:50:48 <Endorb> "I do not. Only three have ever studied, all of the fellow students. Four, if we are to come to an arrangement."
  17. Jul 07 18:53:38 <Knave> "...Interesting." He says, pen tapping against the open page, "I would have assumed that the institution would make an effort to... Nevertheless, yes, I would be most excited to study you. May I ask who else has done so in the past? Were I to look at their notes, I need not trouble you so much personally."
  18. Jul 07 19:02:45 <Endorb> "Minami, Aiko. Kimura, Akemi. Arcega, Casta. I will inform them upon next I see them of my permission to disclose information of me. Will you, in some form, compensate me for the study?"
  19. Jul 07 19:06:49 <Knave> "Knowledge is its own reward." Emmett says, and with conviction. "My research will be of benefit to you, I am sure. As it sounds, there is much potential for you to suffer psychologically from sheer lack of understanding. And do you not desire to understand yourself? To grow more human?"
  20. Jul 07 19:09:01 <Endorb> "Why would I desire humanity? There are many flaws associated with the state that I do not desire. Self improvement would be a far more accurate statement.
  21. Jul 07 19:11:46 <Knave> "Very well." He says, squinting slightly. This doesn't follow the script - the created are supposed to want to become human - but it will suffice. "Even so, improvement will come through understanding, and understanding through study. Do we have an arrangement?"
  22. Jul 07 19:16:26 <Endorb> "It appears so. Perhaps you can study my connection to my body, as it is the least explored part of me."
  23. Jul 07 19:24:51 <Knave> "Indeed, that seems a fruitful avenue..." He scribbles something definitively, then shuts the book and returns it to his jacket, "I must ask you to excuse me. I have matters to attend to. It was enchanting meeting you, Miss Eponnie."
  24. Jul 07 19:26:12 <Endorb> "Have a good day as well."
  25. Jul 07 19:28:59 <Knave> "Good day indeed, Miss." He bows slightly, then leaves hurriedly.
