  1. __**Observers**__
  2.
  3. I always knew they were watching. Those swollen red eyes, always swiveling, turning, and stretching, quietly watching us from afar. There were the walls between us and them, of course, but I knew that didn't stop them. They followed everywhere, watching what was done, when it was done, watching me all the time. You can't imagine how it felt to never have the comfort of privacy. It didn't matter how far I went or how long I was gone, I always had to come back to the eyes. Watching me.

  5. I remember the first day they got out, with some D-Class. They were all over him, watching his arms, his legs, they just went all over him. And I remember seeing them, and wondering why they didn't blink. Thinking about it now, I remember the tingle I used to get when they looked at me. It felt like someone was standing in front of you, about to touch you, but never moving any closer. The feeling of anticipation, you could call it.

  7. Things went on like that for quite a while. Years and decades strolled by, with them out there and me in here. Both them and I knew it was only a matter of time before we had to meet. I didn't know what they wanted then, and I always thought it would be something that would leave me dead. Wish I'd been right.

  9. Things had changed by the time the breach happened. Most of the personnel I worked with had gone off to be at other emerging sites, and most of the anomalous stuff was moved out. Felt like it was just me and them. All it took for them to get out was for one man to leave the door ajar just a crack. They could push it away. Poor guy didn't know what saw him. I was in the halls when they found me. Four of them, just watching at the end. I turned to get away, but they were watching behind me too. They saw me through.
  10.
  11. They keep me in a locked box now. I'm classified as a much more dangerous one than I was before. But that's okay. At least I can still see my old friends. But thats it. All watching. I guess all they wanted in the end was someone to be with them. Someone who knew what it was like to see.
  12.
  13. (The eye bods were observed by the eyeballs, who then took them as hosts in a containment breach)
