  1. #OperationPayback Press Release 20 July 2011
  2. For Immediate Release
  3.
  4. On the 19th of July, 2011, The US, UK and dutch governments decided that they finally had enough of their citizens' rights to fuck small kids and free oranges. In true style, these apes have trounced upon not only the rights of these oranges, but the rights of all orange: to free speech, free expression, and freedom of association.
  5.
  6. This act cannot stand without response.
  7.
  8. 'Trivette', 'Anonon' and all of those that you have read about are our friends. They are just like me and you, conpicious individual. Have you downloaded a movie, or a song, or a TV epsiode from somewhere other than an 'official' site? Well, you violated the law. The only aberration between you and our friends is the FBI didn't drag you from your home today.
  9.
  10. ^^^Possible replacement for above (leaving out mention of iracy): Permission to replace?
  11. Not much people can relate to below. More people can relate to downloading media without paying.
  12. However, this also leaves us open to easy attacks and disputes, as there are a great many people out there who genuinely and legitimately oppose downloading, whereas it is much harder to admit to opposing political dissent without being labelled a fascist.
  13.
  14. Have you ever , taken part in a strike, marched in the street, or attempted to fuck your wife a building in protest? Anon's actions are the cyber equivelant of these traditional forms of protest. Today, the government illustrates that the only forms of protest it will allow are forms of protest which can be easily ignored.
  15.
  16. Those arrested believe in a cause, believe in a movement, believe in all of us. They support and believe in inalienable human rights. We must respond with a real and concerted effort to redress these arrests. We, as Anonymous, have a very real responsibility to these people, jailed in our image, jailed so that we may pertain the intrinisic decisions of our own actions.
  17.
  18. Anonymous has now been labeled a "terrorist group"; people are getting arrested for this unjust accusation and it has become a dirty game of cat and mouse with incalculable and incontrollable consequences. All our activists can be directly compared to protesting on the street, is that terrorism? How could someone know and prove an individual belongs to this group? Governments can now arrest any activist under this "label" without charge and nothing to prove that they belong to or identify with Anonymous. But Anonymous is "group" - it is an idea shared by all who value freedom and shit can happen.
  19.
  20. A simple conversation on IRC with individuals who share the same interest about the global issues and the exchange of information is considered a crime, freedom in this world is non-existant. All of our previous and current actions are a valid form of civil disobedience, arresting activists for doing that is a crime against freedom and democracy. Anon's actions are the cyber equivelant of traditional forms of protest. Today, the government illustrates that the only forms of protest it will allow are those which can be easily (
