Model Invitation

In Oct, 2011 we had an model contest.
Venus was one of the competitors.

For the winners we would pay for round flight economy class
tickets and a stay at a two star hotel.

Venus sent us photos of her wearing one of our uniforms and a
link to her Youtube channel. We could see that she wore a lot of
our products and made interesting videos so we contacted her.
Then her mother sent Mr. Yan an email saying that she managed
Venus very strictly; she didn't allow Venus to have a boyfriend.
She said that Venus was very famous and a huge fan of Bodyline,
and that if we chose Venus our products would sell well, etc.
Mr. Yan was confused as to why she talked about how Venus
didn't have a boyfriend, and thought they misunderstood our
contest's purpose. We didn't answer for a long time.
Later she sent us an interview that Venus did on a morning news
show in the UK in order to show us how famous she was.
She seemed to be a completely different size than what she
indicated on her entry (perhaps because the video was stretched to
fit a wide screen?).
Venus said that she was a certain size but the girl in the video was
clearly not the weight she had indicated. We asked if she was
really that weight and she said she was. We told her that she had
to sign a contract, and that if she lied then she would have to pay
a penalty fine. She agreed.
We have had customers fake their information before, so the
contract calls for a 10,000 USD fine. When we emailed Venus and
her mother the contract they refused to sign it. We believe it was
because she lied to us about her weight.
Mr. Yan believed that they were liars, so we didn't contact her
again.

That is until we unexpectedly met at Hyper Japan in the winter of
2012. Venus was wearing one of our cosplay dresses with bunny
ears.
Mr. Yan asked for a photo and she happily agreed. After the photo
he thanked her and when he turned to go she asked if he was Mr.
Yan.
He replied yes and she jumped up and hugged him, which
surprised him greatly.
"How did you know it was me?" He asked. To which she replied,
"I heard you when someone was talking to you over there."
"Wow, you have amazing hearing!"
We thought she looked good enough to model, even though we
knew for sure she was over the weight she had said she was. At
the time we had some products that we needed photos for.
We met her again about two hours later and asked her to dinner to
discuss having a photoshoot. We called her mother to get her
permission and went to a restaurant in China Town.
To avoid any misunderstandings we discussed the contract and
the purpose of the model contest.
"Doing a photoshoot is very difficult... Your mom emailed us to
say how famous you are and how our products would sell well.
However we don't care how famous you are. We want our model
to be Cinderella, not someone who is already a princess.
Cinderella doesn't start off with the means to make her dream
come true, while a princess can already get anything she wants.
We wrote about this in the previous contract.
We make dream-fulfilling clothing, but sell it for a cheap price
because most of our customers are 'Cinderellas'.
In this way Bodyline is a world between the real world and the
dream world.
Most of our customers have two dreams: to go to Japan and to be
our model. This contest is supposed to be a dream-come-true.
Because our products are so cheap we cannot give 'Cinderella' a
five star service. If you are happy with an economy ticket and a
two star hotel and make up by yourself then we can invite you.

If you think you are a 'princess' and that we must treat you to five
star service then you misunderstand our concept.
Our trip is not extravagant but if you work hard then we will treat
you to a delicious meal.
If you think you're already a princess then we cant invite you."
"Oh no, no. I'm not famous..." She replied.

Then she said that she was worried about the fine.
Mr. Yan said that he had already confirmed her appearance inperson,
so the penalty could be removed from the contract.
And then we asked for her background.
Where was she born? Hungary.
Nationality? Hungarian.
Her place of study? Apparently there was no room for her in any
of the schools in her area, so she was being homeschooled.
However she would start going to school in the middle of
December of 2012, so she could only go to Japan if it was before
school started.
Mr. Yan told her that we would be busy in December for
Christmas, but we would try to do it before she had to go to
school. However there was a high chance that we couldn't make it
in time but we told her we would invite her next time if she
couldn't make it at that time. We also told her that she would have
to diet before the trip, which she agreed to.
When we got back to Japan we found out that we wouldn't have
time for the photoshoot before December, and emailed them
telling them so. Venus's mother emailed us back saying that she
asked the school to change her enroll date for us...


In Summer of 2013 Mr. Yan visited the UK with a stop in
London. Mr. Yan called them to meet in order to plan her trip to
Japan for the shoot during her Summer holiday. He met them in
Camden and went to China town for dinner. Mr. Yan and Venus's
mother ordered wine, while Venus drank tea.
Mr. Yan was surprised to see that she had gained weight again.
Usually we model the M size of the products, but our M size was
tight for her current size.
Venus' mother had already done so much in order for her to come
Japan, and Mr. Yan had already said that he would invite her to
Japan so he felt he couldn't uninvite them anymore.
Venus seemed preoccupied during the meeting, so Mr. Yan asked
if stress had caused her to gain weight. She replied that she was in
fact stressed.
Mr. Yan noted that people tend to gain weight when they are
stressed. Venus said that she couldn't lose weight because if she
did then she would get wrinkles on her face.
Mr. Yan then asked her about how school was going. Venus
turned to her mother, who nodded in approval, and Venus said,
"Actually I only went to school for a month. School is good but it
is expensive, so I gave up."
Mr. Yan was surprised, "Really? If you finished school early then
you should have contacted me earlier."

Venus asked Mr. Yan if her mum could come with her. Mr Yan
said, "Like I've said before, of course she can. But she has to pay
for everything herself. Usually models come with their fathers,
mothers, sisters, brothers, boyfriends, or friends. Some even come
with their whole family, and they all pay for themselves.
"But Venus is only 16 years old..."
"If I pay for you both then it's unfair for the other winners. If you
continue to insist then I'll have to cancel your invitation."

"Okay, I agree that Venus can go by herself."

"Our shoot is very difficult. It's usually around 30 dresses a day."
"We understand. Videos are also difficult."

"That's great!"

"I am very busy, so I don't have time to take care of her. Our design
manager, Murakami, will take care of her. She will have a day of
free time, so if she has friends in Japan she can spend time with
them, but if you don't then we can guide you anywhere you want to
go. If Venus does well she can also come to my birthday party on
the second free day."

"That's awesome! Thank you."

Then Venus asked, "Can we go work for Bodyline in Japan? I can
speak English, Japanese, German, French... That's five languages.
I can model, I can design, I can use facebook and youtube, I can
do everything for Bodyline. Bodyline is my favorite brand; most
of my clothes are from Bodyline."


"I'm sorry but we have enough employees. This trip is just for the
model contest, so we'll just talk about that."


Venus's mother took out their passports to show Mr. Yan and say
that Venus would possibly have to go to Japan a little later
because they were applying for a visa in order to live in Japan.
They submitted their application so they showed the application
pending stamp to Mr. Yan.
Venus's mother said, "The Japanese embassy told us that before
we receive the result we aren't allowed to go to Japan. Typically
half are rejected."
Mr. Yan told them "If you get rejected then usually it will be even
more difficult the next time you apply. If you can't come then we
can find another model."

Because there was high rejection risk they decided that they
would cancel the application and come to Japan for the Bodyline
shoot. They would contact Mr. Yan and then Mr. Yan would book
their tickets.

Venus and her mother asked if there were some way for them to
move to Japan together. So Mr. Yan told them, "You are hungarian
so you could come to Japan for one to three months on a travel
visa."
"We don't want to visit, we want to live there."
"In that case there are four ways:
With a student visa you would study there and then work for a
company in Japan.
Using a highly skilled worker visa you have to have a unique
skill, and you are usually a college graduate.
Using an investor visa. You have to have enough money to start
and run your own business. It also helps if you have proven to be
responsible enough to run a business.
Using a marriage visa. This is the easiest way because you just go
to the councillor's office and you'll receive a visa."

Mr. Yan asked Venus's mother what her job was. Venus's mother
didn't work. So he asked where their income came from. They get
their income from Youtube advertisement revenue.
"I don't know much about that, is it a good way to earn money?"
"Oh yes." Venus and her mother nodded to each other and smiled.
"Do you pay tax on this income?" Mr. Yan asked.
"Never."
"This would be a huge issue in japan. Typically the tax office
comes and audits you."
"They haven't yet, we often move between countries. Before the
UK we lived in Spain. Does Bodyline pay tax?"
"Of course. Tax is taken very seriously in Japan, and we are quite
a responsible company."
Given their situation, they wanted to come to Japan together, so
Mr. Yan gave them some advice.
Venus didn't have regular school so it would be difficult to get a
student visa.
Modeling nor video production are considered unique skills, so
they wouldn't be able to receive that visa either.
In Japan it is quite illegal to not pay one's taxes, so the investor
visa would be impossible.
As for the marriage visa, because Venus is under 18, her mother
could marry a Japanese man and bring Venus to Japan. However
if Venus were to marry then she could not bring her mother,
because her mother is an adult.


The Mr. Yan said, "Our model contest is meant to bring our
customers some happiness. Your business is to make interesting
videos and get views. You can't use our contest to make a video to
earn money. You can't say or post anything about us. We'll write
this into the contract, okay?"

"We agree."

Mr. Yan made small talk with Venus's mother. "I browsed Venus's
Youtube channel. You made the 'How to use a Banana' video. It
was very funny. Do you really use a banana like that?"

"People want to see 'interesting and unique' videos." They
laughed. "Did you also earn money from that video?" She
laughed.


Venus asked what kind of girl could win the contest.
"Pure."
"What does that mean?"
"We don't have stylists, so the models have to do their own
makeup. If they spend a lot of time on this then it takes time from
the shoot. You don't use much makeup because you are already so
pretty. If the model looks completely different after they do their
makeup then they spent too much time. We've had models that
spent 1 1/2 to 2 hours on their makeup, and their makeup is
changed 2-3 times a day. That means that half the shoot is spent
on makeup. We do 30 dresses a day so this kind of disruption tires
everyone.
"'Pure' has a negative connotation in Europe."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. The same word can have different nuances in
different countries."
"Why did you choose a foreigner instead of Japanese girl when
Japanese girls are so cute?"
"We have also used a lot of Japanese models, but we want to use
more foreigners. The Japanese market is already stable, while the
overseas market is currently small, but it's growing. Because the
typical asian body-type is so different from the western one we
want western customers to be able to see how the clothes will fit."

Then Venus's mom said they had to go home because her
boyfriend was going to sleep over. We both had to take the train
so we shared a taxi to the train station.
Because he was curious, Mr. Yan asked where her boyfriend was
from.
"Jamaica. You see my hair? It is Jamaican style."
"Oh really? I don't know about Jamaica at all. What are Jamaican
people like?"
"Drinking, drinking, drinking. Everyday."
Maybe you should call him because you are getting home so
late."
"No, he doesn't have a cell phone."
"If he comes and you aren't home, what will he do?"
"He doesn't have a key so he'd have to sleep on the street. That's
why I'm in such a hurry. But I don't know if he'll be coming home
tonight."


When Venus finally came to Japan she was very professional. She
did her makeup very quickly and she had many poses in mind
already. She said that when she made a youtube video in hotel she
did her makeup in three minutes!
Mr. Yan wasn't in the office during the photoshoot. He had an
appointment with a business partner, but he went back to the
office to say hi to Venus; this was the first time Mr. Yan saw
Venus while she was in Japan. He asked her if she wanted to rest
for a day. She was eager for some rest.
"Hot springs are the best for relaxation," Mr. Yan suggested.
"I went to a hot spring with my mom once, I liked it."

In the morning of the next day Venus went to Akihabara with
Murakami. Later Mr. Yan and Manager Takinami came to pick
them up to go to the hot spring together,
The men's group finished very quickly, so they waited for the
women to finish while they waited in the public waiting area.
Then we all rested in the hot spring garden and Venus asked Mr.
Yan for a photo. At first he said no because he likes to keep
himself private. Venus begged until he finally agreed, with the
condition that she not post it anywhere online. She agreed.


While they were in the hot spring Manager Takinami spoke with
Venus about all kinds of things. Ms. Takinami asked, "Did you
watch TV at the hotel? Recently a Japanese TV program said that
there are two kinds of men in the world, lions who are fierce, and
sheep, who are soft and gentle.
The sheep type is very popular in Japan; which type do you
prefer?"
Venus said, "Gentlemen like Murakami have a good heart. The
heart is the most important part."

Venus, again, asked our manager what things she could do to
come live in Japan.
Takinami answered, "Work or marriage."


On the second free day Venus wanted to go to Disneyland, and
asked that we guide her, to which we agreed.
Mr. Yan had the idea to take a photo of Venus to put it on site to
congratulate Venus on winning the modeling contest, so we went
to merry-go land to take it.
It started become dark and we were all tired, when Venus asked us
if she could get a short interview. Originally we did not agree, but
she was upset and begged. Finally to make her happy we agreed,
but not for interview with Mr. Yan. Mr. Yan said she could
interview Manager Takinami, but Takinami wanted the interview
to be in Japanese.
Mr. Yan filmed, and corrected Venus's accent for the questions.
Mr. Yan reminded Venus that she could not post anything about
the photoshoot. However he would allow her to upload the
interview if they could see it edited before she uploaded it. She
responded, "Yes, of course." So our manager did the interview.


We all went to dinner, and Venus asked the same question again.
"My mum and me want to work for Bodyline in japan."
"I think that we already told you that we have no need for you."
Venus began to cry very heavily. Mr. Yan didn't want repeat it
again, but when she finally realized that she couldn't change his
mind she stopped crying and started to eat her food. Her tears are
like a water tap that she can turn off and on when she wants. She
is very smart, and a very good actress.


We she actually did very good work, Mr. Yan kept his promise
and invited her to his birthday party.
Mr. Yan chose the biggest karaoke room. Venus sang
"Zannkokuna Tenshi" which in English means Brutality Angel.
Another guest after Venus had chosen "Zannkokuna Angel" and
when she heard it Venus's face became very serious. She looked
like she wanted to say 'That's my song.'
Venus chose "Zannkokuna Angel" again. This time she jumped up
onto the sofa in a huge dance performance. Everyone was very
surprised, especially Mr. Yan, who spout his drink out of his nose.
Some of the other guests laughed so hard that had to lay down on
the sofa, one guest's face turned bright red and they couldn't
breath. Another laughed so hard that had to go to the toilet. She
really killed us with laughter.
We all applauded and agreed that she was a real "brutality angel."
But we told her that if she wanted to do something so extreme
that she tell them first so we could prepare, otherwise we'd be
killed for real.party was around 2.5 hours.

she went back to the UK in the next.

After the photoshoot was over we went to put the dresses back in
the bags, but we found that they all had the distinct smell of body
odor. We tried to air them out for a week, but the smell didn't go
away. Unfortunately all of the dresses and shirts had to go in the
trash bin. We lost a lot of money from those dresses, but we didn't
mind too much.

We posted the merry-go land photo on September 3rd to
congratulate Venus's debut. And later we uploaded the photos
from the shoot. Venus's mom emailed us to tell us that that we had
her bust size wrong. She said that her bust was 8 cm bigger than
we had posted, but we had measured it many times, so we knew it
was correct. Venus's mum said that she wanted to present Venus
like a Barbie in order to earn more money. Mr. Yan checked with
the design manager, but he said it was definitely correct. If she
were the size that her mother indicated then she wouldn't have
been able to wear the M size.
We refused to change the size because lying would confuse the
customers when they were trying to choose the right size.
Mr. Yan was tired of dealing with these troublemakers and
decided to ignore their emails. Venus was the most troublesome
model we've ever had.

Originally we had planned to post the Venus debut photo until the
30th of September, but we took it down on the 15th instead.
After a while Venus's mother emailed us again, giving us a
contract for permission to use the photos for a Discovery Channel
programed called Living Doll. She said it was good advertisement
for Bodyline.
But we didn't want such a thing. We don't like talking about profit
margins. We sell good products for cheap and give our customers
a chance to be 'Cinderella.'
Mr. Yan ignored it too. Venus's mom sent it to our design manager
too, who told Mr. Yan. He said to ignore them, "They are already
too much trouble. If we continue to communicate with them the
troubles will be endless. They are a double threat. (Brutality angel
and liars.)" We haven't answered them since.
In November we started a new model contest.
December 6th we decide the winners.
December 18th venus uploads "Venus Fall in Dream" video.
December 19th a Bodyline customer noticed the video and
contacted us about it. Mr. Yan saw the video became very angry.
We never agreed for use of any of the materials use in the video.
The video is illegal, and edited in order to show Bodyline as evil.
On 19 December, 2013 at 18:46 Japan time Mr. Yan called Venus
to tell them to delete the video and apologize. Her mother
responded, "Why should I apologize? The copyrights belong to
the cameraperson."
"We had a contract that stated that you could not post or talk
about us."
"You filmed the Takinami interview yourself, so you agreed.
(Laugh)"
"If you take the photo then it is your right to own it. You do not
have the right to post it publicly. In order to post it you must write
up an agreement and pay for the use. You also edited my, and my
employee's speech in order make it interesting and gain views and
money."
"Bye, bye!" Hangup.
At 21:05 Japan time, in December, 2013, Mr. Yan called Venus
again and told her that he wanted to talk to her mother again.
"Delete it ASAP and apologize, please."
"We are recording this phone call."
"That not a problem for me. You used my photo without
permission. I just want to know, will you or will you not delete
it?"
"You can't order anyone to do anything. I sent you the Discovery
Channel email, why didn't you answer? I will not delete it. Have a
nice Christmas~!"
Hang up.
20th of December youtube<=google> demonotize the video as invasion of privacy.


Summary
Most of the things said in the video actually happened, but they
are edited out of context to display Bodyline in a negative light.
They edited the video this way so that they could get more views,
and by extension money.

Why would they make a negative video?
1.) they want to earn google ad money. Viewers like to see strange
and negative videos. (After Mr. Yan called them demonotized the
video to show that they did not lost it for money, bur originally
they were making money from it.It isover 50000 views in 3 days.)

2.) They want revenge because:
1. We refused her request to work at Bodyline.
2. We didn't change her bust size.
3. We ignored the Discovery Channel contract.
4. We started looking for a new model.


About the sensitive words

'Pure'
They cut out the important parts of the explanation of Pure, so the
video depicts Mr. Yan as weird.

'Marriage'
Venus asked us the question, we only answered. But apparently
she only picked up on the "marriage" part.
The video makes it seem like Bodyline is suggesting she be
married, which isn't true.

Takinami's interview was only permitted because she begged so
much. Of course this permission was given before we had the
issues with the bust size. If one watches the interview without any
editing it is just a regular interview. The laughing at the end is Mr.
Yan. They included that bit to show that Mr. Yan approved of the
video, which isn't true.
The photo of Mr. Yan and Venus at the hot spring garden was
approved, but not for public viewing. Mr. Yan is very sensitive
about his privacy.
All of the video of Mr. Yan was taken and edited by Venus's
mother without Mr. Yan's permission or knowledge.

- other family members (e.g. husband, wife, cousin, brother, sister)
- work colleagues or employees of a company (in our case J.C.
International from Japan, selling Bodyline clothes, owned by Mr.
XXXXXXXXX, known as Mr. Yan) "





Because they knew we would file a claim. Everyone understands that
this was not written by Venus, but her mother.
It is Venus's video, so they think that they can hide behind the fact that
Venus is a minor. Venus's mother is very cunning.
This is not simply an invasion of privacy and harassment, it also
deals with honorary damage. They are also guilty of tax evasion.
If the tax office audits them she will just say that it is Venus's
income and she is a minor.

The same words can have drastically different meaning when
taken out of context. Context can be changed through such means
as video editing.
They spent a lot of time editing the video to show Bodyline
negatively. People are more interested in negative things so they
made it negative in order to get more views.

Mr. Yan is glad that he made the correct decision to refuse their
offer to work at Bodyline.

About venus angelic model invitation

venus is one of our customer model.we invited her come japan.
we had a contract and we paid everything for her.

18th Dec,venus angelic made a funny video,
mostly of it actually happened,but it shown by negative way with a little trick lie.
all Mr yan's video are all pirates summarized by venus's mum.
everyone can understand that the video is not from straight front,and always hand shaking. and edited by most 'interesting' way.

of course,it is not only 1 problem. of course,it will not finish by just deleting.

It is our busy season,we don't have time to go to uk now.
but we will go soon.
