- 2 = Triangle
- 3 = X
- 4 = Circle

- 1 = X
- 2 = Y
- 3 = A
- 4 = B
- Most guides and players will use this when they talk about notation in this game and most other fighters.
- Common Abbreviations
- jk/jp = Jump Kick/Jump Punch
- njk/njp = Neutral Jump Kick/Neutral Jump Punch
- jik/jip = Jump-in kick/Jump-in punch
- 6f; 10f; 12f; = 6 Frames; 10 Frames; 12 Frames
- xxTeleport or ~~Teleport = Cancel into Teleport
- AA = Anti Air
- AtoA = Air to Air
- BnB = Bread and Butter - usually one of the character's 'default'/most reliable combos
- iA = Instant Air
- RC = Run Cancel
- Meter Burn and Enhanced Special Moves
- EX = R2/RT is pressed at the moment the move is executed
- MB = R2/RT is pressed after the move has begun its animation
