It's my dad's birthday today. He's 63 and he's really ready to retire next year. A lot of my attitude comes from him and I wouldn't be the person I am without him. I plan to take him out for dinner this next weekend wherever he wants to go.

I finished Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, Bioshock (for the second time ever) and River City Tokyo Rumble. Getting through some games feels really good but I need to keep it up. I need to finish stuff and keep pushing. Select one and play it. I keep cycling into whatever I get each week and playing for like 3 hours and it's really hurting me in the long run. Have to go back to my old style of and focus focus focus. I didn't even finish the other two parts of Fire Emblem Fates or Zero Time Dilemma and I was super hyped up for those. Yeesh.

The other problem with focus focus focus is that I have almost zero focus after long days of work, which is almost all of them these days. I hope to just kind of work through it and maybe get a bit stricter on my sleep schedule to maintain better energy throughout the week. Having the work week start on a 4am start day is really rough though when it doesn't match up with any other day. It's kind of the same problem with streaming. I've actually wanted to stream some of the new stuff I've been playing but I just have no energy to set everything up and monitor that stuff so it's all been offline and will probably continue to be that way for a bit.

I submitted Rusty to AGDQ. I had no expectations of it getting in but I'll keep submitting because I do believe in its value as an interesting draw for various people. I've had a lot of input from friends and others that the game lists have just gotten too stale and thankfully they mostly feel AGDQ 2017's game list is very solid, but I'd like to keep pushing for more variance. As solid as I might think the game list is, I do believe the console variety is severely lacking. But hey, more weird stuff still seems to be SGDQ's thing more than AGDQ's so we'll see what happens next summer and who knows, maybe I'll actually drop the $380 on Tryrush Deppy and have some added submissions to spice things up.
