[17:17] <Anto_Belac> *The Night Before The Day That Led To The Night Of The Second Battle*
[17:20] <Anto_Belac> Anto Belac slouches on his bed, kicking his bare feet a few inches into the air repeatedly. Earlier he had called Tania and asked her to come over and help him out with all this 'home work' he got at school, all of which now sat in a pile next to some pencils on the carpeted floor. He occasionally eyes it nervously as he continues kicking his feet and awaits the girl's arrival.
[17:25] * Jack_Murdock is sitting in the living room watching some WWII movie, and twirling a few toy cowboy guns in either hand. He seems to be enjoying himself, smiling openly whenever a german get maimed or killed. Occasionally he stops twirling one of the guns for a split second and fires it at the tv, making a loud clicking noise each time he does it.
[17:25] * Tania_Clarke step off the elevator after it reaches the correct floor, and knocks on the doors.
[17:27] * Tania_Clarke adjusts her schoolbag and knocks again.
[17:27] * Anto_Belac hops up from his seat and scampers to the door. He swings it wide-open. "Hello?"
[17:31] * Tania_Clarke steps back to avoid the swinging doors.
[17:31] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
[17:33] <Anto_Belac> "Hi," he mutters as he stares at the floor. "Thanks for coming. I-I really need the help."
[17:35] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
[17:35] * Tania_Clarke purses her lips.
[17:35] <Tania_Clarke> "Okay."
[17:36] <Anto_Belac> "Okay. Uhm..." He backs up toward his room. "Follow me?"
[17:37] * Tania_Clarke follows him, glancing at Jack as they pass through the living room.
[17:37] <Tania_Clarke> "Do you need help as well?"
[17:38] * Jack_Murdock takes a moment to stare back as she walks by before looking over his shoulder to see if anyone else was showing up
[17:38] * Anto_Belac reoccupies his seat on the bed and continues his little kicks. "So umm."
[17:39] <Jack_Murdock> "You don't need help with anything when you're as good as I am at everything."
[17:39] * Jack_Murdock continues to twirl about the two revolvers and watches the TV as he talks to her
[17:41] * Tania_Clarke shrugs and silently enters Anto's room, glancing back once before closing the door behind her.
[17:42] * Tania_Clarke looks around the room.
[17:42] <Anto_Belac> "Uhmm," he hops up for a moment to make sure she leaves the door *slightly* ajar. "Th-there's my homework on the floor. I sort of, uhm...don't understand any of it?"
[17:46] <Anto_Belac> "I mean," Anto folds down onto his knees and grabs a worksheet from the bottom. "This one is all filled over with crosses and twos and letters equaling numbers?"
[17:46] * Tania_Clarke leans forward to look at it.
[17:46] <Tania_Clarke> "...that's not homework, those are examples."
[17:47] <Tania_Clarke> "Homework is..."
[17:47] * Anto_Belac blinks. "Bu-but what are they trying to show with them?"
[17:48] * Tania_Clarke sits crosslegged besides the pile of books, and starts going through them, pulling out the algebra book.
[17:48] * Champion (~Champion@Rizon-C8B36E01.hsd1.in.comcast.net) has joined #LibertyIC
[17:48] * ChanServ gives channel operator status to Champion
[17:48] <Tania_Clarke> "Here, pages 35 to 37, these are the ones we're supposed to do."
[17:49] * Tania_Clarke hands the open book to Anto.
[17:50] * Anto_Belac takes the book gingerly and stares at the pages. "But I don't know how to do these." He leafs back to the examples, "I mean here, one of the numbers is there, and then it's on the other side instead with a plus sign next to it. Is it a mutineer?"
[17:51] * Tania_Clarke leans over the book to look at the boy's face, wide eyed.
[17:52] <Tania_Clarke> "...you really have no idea?"
[17:52] * Anto_Belac almost leans back but instead holds still, eyes wide. "N-no?"
[17:54] * Tania_Clarke takes the book from him and closes it.
[17:54] <Tania_Clarke> "I can't help you with this."
[17:56] <Anto_Belac> "Wha?"
[17:58] <Tania_Clarke> "...you lack basic knowledge."
[17:58] * Tania_Clarke ponders.
[17:59] * Tania_Clarke snaps her fingers.
[17:59] <Anto_Belac> "Oh. O-okay...What about the chemistry?" He yanks a different book out and thumbs to a folded piece of paper with scribbles on it.
[17:59] * Anto_Belac jumps back at the snap. "What?"
[17:59] * Tania_Clarke pulls out her cellphone and makes a call.
[18:00] <Tania_Clarke> "...I need some things... from my room... third drawer to the left from the back. The second book and..."
[18:01] * Tania_Clarke glances over the books strewn about.
[18:01] <Tania_Clarke> "...actually, bring them all, the entire drawer."
[18:02] * Tania_Clarke hangs up.
[18:03] * Tania_Clarke looks up at Anto.
[18:04] * Anto_Belac blinks back confusedly.
[18:04] <Tania_Clarke> "...Now we wait."
[18:05] <Anto_Belac> "Oh..."
[18:06] <Tania_Clarke> ***Approximately 30 minutes later***
[18:07] * Tania_Clarke leaves the room and spares just a glance at Jack as she walks to the front door, in time open it after the faint chime from the elevator.
[18:10] * Tania_Clarke comes back in holding several books oh her arms. It looks heavy.
[18:10] <Anto_Belac> "Do you need help with those?"
[18:10] * Tania_Clarke shakes her head and slowly makes her back to Anto's room.
[18:12] * Tania_Clarke pushes the slighly ajar door open and goes in, dropping the books on the floor with a heavy thud.
[18:14] * Anto_Belac jumps slightly at the thud. "Is-uhm I mean - what are these for?"
[18:18] <Tania_Clarke> "...this..."
[18:18] * Tania_Clarke rapidly skims over the spines, nodding to herself.
[18:18] <Tania_Clarke> "...is your new homework."
[18:20] * Anto_Belac picks up one softly and looks at its spine. "'Modern Particle Reactions for Those in Dire Straits.'" He flips through it a few times.
[18:20] <Anto_Belac> "...All of these?"
[18:22] * Anto_Belac puts that book down and picks up another. 'Math for Poopies.'
[18:23] <Anto_Belac> "...Are-- so I'm -- " he slouches as his eyes grow weary. "I'm as dumb as a five year old."
[18:24] <Tania_Clarke> "...yes, this is all more suited for you...?"
[18:24] * Tania_Clarke squats down, a book at the bottom of the pile seemingly catching her attention.
[18:25] <Tania_Clarke> As she pushes it out and looks at the cover, her skirt is pulled slightly back, revealing...
[18:26] <Tania_Clarke> "...what is this doing here?"
[18:27] <Anto_Belac> "What?"
[18:28] * Anto_Belac starts to look up, notices her position and rapidly turns away. "What is it?"
[18:31] * Tania_Clarke slowly moves her eyes towards Anto, stares at him for a second, then yelps and falls on her butt.
[18:31] <Tania_Clarke> "Eeek!"
[18:31] * Tania_Clarke hugs the book against her chest, her face rapidly reddening.
[18:32] <Tania_Clarke> "I- eh- um-"
[18:32] <Anto_Belac> "Wah!" Anto scrambles backwards to get out of her way. "What's wrong? Wha' happened?"
[18:33] * Anto_Belac peers at the book in her arms. "What's that?"
[18:33] <Tania_Clarke> "N-nothing. Nothing  at-ata at all."
[18:34] * Tania_Clarke stands up, her face red like a tomatoe, the book tightly clutch to her chest.
[18:34] <Tania_Clarke> "I- I'll beeee right back."
[18:35] * Tania_Clarke leaves the room, closing the door behind her.
[18:35] <Anto_Belac> "Wu-- okay."
[18:35] * Jack_Murdock looks over as she comes out
[18:35] * Tania_Clarke leans her back against the closed door, breathing fast.
[18:38] <Jack_Murdock> "What happened?"
[18:39] * Tania_Clarke looks up towards the First Child, her face like she had jumped out of the pan, into the fire.
[18:39] <Tania_Clarke> "I- uh-"
[18:39] <Tania_Clarke> "He-"
[18:40] * Jack_Murdock stops twirling the revolvers and stands up, 'Go on.'
[18:41] * Tania_Clarke takes a deep breath and clears her throat.
[18:41] <Tania_Clarke> "...Nothing," she answers calmly. "Nothing at all."
[18:42] * Jack_Murdock slowly walks towards her, 'Didn't sound like nothing.'
[18:43] * Tania_Clarke stares into his eyes.
[18:43] <Tania_Clarke> "...I said nothing."
[18:45] * Jack_Murdock continues to walk until he gets right into her personal space bubble, 'Then why the show, and the noises?'
[18:47] * Tania_Clarke tilts her head up to continue staring at him, while simultaneously clutching the book tighter and pressing her back harder against the door.
[18:47] <Tania_Clarke> "...what noises?"
[18:50] <Jack_Murdock> "Leon isn't home, so treating me like I'm stupid is probably the worst thing you can do right now." He reaches over her shoulder and knocks on the door a few times
[18:51] * Tania_Clarke reflexively recoils away from the hand.
[18:51] * Anto_Belac starts. "Ah! Who-- what is it?"
[18:52] <Jack_Murdock> "Open up Anto. What the hell was all that noise about?"
[18:54] * Anto_Belac slides his butt over to the door and twists the knob open. "I don't know, she just started wailing and she fell down --"
[18:56] * Tania_Clarke as the door is opened Tania falls back into the room, landing on her back next to the boy.
[18:56] <Tania_Clarke> "Ah!"
[18:56] <Anto_Belac> "Ah!"
[18:57] <Tania_Clarke> Tania's short skirt pulled back by the fall, one knee bending as she tries to support herself, Jack now has a full view of...
[18:58] <Tania_Clarke> "...ow."
[18:59] * Jack_Murdock manages to get a good eyeful before turning his gaze to her face
[19:00] * Tania_Clarke rubs the back of her head before refocusing on Jack with a serious expression, her hand moving down to adjust her skirt before standing up.
[19:01] <Jack_Murdock> "... I see..."
[19:01] <Anto_Belac> "Uhm..." His face plasters itself with its usual confusion.
[19:02] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
[19:03] <Tania_Clarke> "...you saw?"
[19:04] * Jack_Murdock turns around and takes a few steps back to the couch before saying, 'Maybe.'
[19:04] * Tania_Clarke looks down and to the side, her face red.
[19:07] <Jack_Murdock> "Um, so... I'll just leave you both to homework..."
[19:08] * Anto_Belac takes a moment to soak in what's going in, then blushes furiously and slides toward his bed. Away from Tania.
[19:08] <Jack_Murdock> "And Tania, no need to tell your father, right?"
[19:08] <Tania_Clarke> "...huh?"
[19:08] * Tania_Clarke looks up.
[19:09] * Champion is now known as Ansel_Delorme
[19:10] <Tania_Clarke> "...why would I bo-"
[19:11] <Tania_Clarke> Her eyes widen.
[19:13] <Tania_Clarke> "...I see."
[19:13] <Tania_Clarke> Her eyes, locked on Jack, narrow.
[19:15] * Anto_Belac shudders as he watches this exchange from behind his pillow.
[19:15] * Jack_Murdock hears her reply and walks back to the couch, trying not to show her the look on his face as he walks away
[19:16] <Tania_Clarke> "Jack."
[19:16] <Jack_Murdock> "What."
[19:16] * Jack_Murdock stops where he stands
[19:18] <Anto_Belac> "G-guys I really think m-maybe you two should juuuuussssst let this pass?"
[19:18] * Anto_Belac ducks back behind his pillow.
[19:19] <Tania_Clarke> /me ponders.
[19:19] <Tania_Clarke> "There would be no need to bother the Sub-Commander, if you could do something for me. Or not for me, rather..."
[19:19] * Tania_Clarke slowly glances over to Anto, wearing the same devilish smile he has sometimes seen Alice make.
[19:19] <Tania_Clarke> "...for our classmate, here."
[19:20] <Jack_Murdock> "Depends... Which classmate, and what am I doing?"
[19:22] * Anto_Belac peeks out again and shivers.
[19:23] <Tania_Clarke> ***Some time later***
[19:30] <Jack_Murdock> "I thought you had something else in mind when you asked for help... But this?" he grumbles as he sits on the floor in Anto's room
[19:30] <Anto_Belac> "I'm so confused."
[19:31] <Jack_Murdock> "... How? Did you learn nothing as a child?"
[19:32] <Tania_Clarke> "...I even conceded to let you copy Anto's homework that I'm doing for him. All considered, you're getting off easy," she says as she continues writing on a notebook, away from the pair.
[19:32] * Anto_Belac rubs tears of frustration from his eyes.
[19:33] <Tania_Clarke> "I don't hear any singing," the girl casually remarks.
[19:36] * Anto_Belac moans, "Shave his belly with a rusty razor! Ear-lie in the morning!"
[19:36] <Jack_Murdock> "I don't need to copy anyone's homework. Unlike Anto, I manage to do mine. And this singing can go to hell, just get some flash cards or something."
[19:37] <Tania_Clarke> "...That's not how the song goes."
[19:38] <Anto_Belac> "F-five plus eleven isss..."
[19:39] <Jack_Murdock> "... Damnit..." He then starts to quietly sing out the 4's times tables to the tune of row your boat. He stops quickly and hit anto one the side of the arm, "You know your addition, we're doing times tables."
[19:39] <Jack_Murdock> *hits
[19:39] <Jack_Murdock> *on
[19:40] <Anto_Belac> "Five times eleven isssss..."
[19:42] * Tania_Clarke smiles.
[19:42] <Tania_Clarke> Next to her, by the pile of school books she's working on, there's one whose simple cover reads: A kingdom called Liberty.
