- A handful of links related to transgender issues and the discussion of whether gender and sexuality are the same thing. I've started collecting these because a lot of people are expressing outdated and frankly backwards views, like saying that transwomen are all men, comparing it to a "delusion" and saying that it's unhealthy to 'give in' to that delusion. This generally goes hand in hand with the (often unqualified) poster saying that the psychology or medical community modernizing it's views on these issues is simply hijacked by SJWs, therefor the 'experts' can't be trusted.
- While some people dismiss this kind of thing as "accidents" or "outliers", they're still things that happen, and that's kind of meaningful when it affects at least 70,000,000 people.
- Regardless, here are the links:
- >The actual APA FAQ on transgender people
- Important to note that transgender=/=transsexual. Transsexual is a specific type of transgender category. It also explains what gender dysphoria is, and why it's important to treat it the way it's treated.

- >Article on how brain scans show transpeople have brains closer to the sex they claim to be
- I think this one is rather important because a lot of people tend to compare being trans to being "otherkin". The human body has the potential to develop along male or female lines; it doesn't, however, have the capacity for you to be a pikachu or a squirrel or cupcake. There is no brain scan that would ever show those things.

- >Two articles about different AFAB* individuals who are genetically male
- This one is important because it highlights how assigning sex is a rather fuzzy thing to begin with. What you are and what you think you are aren't always the same, and much of it is based on appearance, not anything deeper.

- *Assigned female at birth; that is, the doctor looked the child over and said "it's a girl".
- >Last Week Tonight on Transgender Rights
- This isn't so much informative as it is rather enlightening. It shows many of the issues that transgender people face, not just in terms of harassment but loss of civil rights as well. Rather informative and also funny, but kinda depressing.

- >UN Development Programme about Transgender rights
- Hey, turns out trans people are people and deserve human rights, including access to things like health care that will help them be comfortable in their own skin.
