  1. Prompt: Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
  2.
  3. I consider academics to be my current career-field. I have spent the majority of my life striving for academic excellence and augmentation. I have received many promotions, and many awards. However, I also have suffered from multiple setbacks as well. My bosses were laxer than most, as I had proven time and time again that I was able to maintain my career and produce top-notch work. Although, when there was evidence of my work-ethic faltering, my bosses were ready to intervene and make adjustments. At the time of their involvements, I was disgruntled by their constant need to oversee me. However, this only fueled my desire to prove to them that I didn’t need their oversight. In the early years of my career, I did my job only because my bosses desired me to do so. However, in the most recent years I have felt the pressure to better myself shift from my bosses, to myself. It is no longer my bosses’ desire pushing me to work, but my own insatiable hunger for improvement.
  4. My career field is full of many different kinds of workers. Some of them, are like me, and work there in order to better themselves. Some other colleagues, which are easily distinguishable, are there simply because their bosses require it. This is understandable, as our careers are full of stress and heavy workloads. These people don’t understand why we would purposefully subject ourselves to this stress and heavy workloads. The answer is simple, at least for me. I wholeheartedly desire to improve myself, and climb the infinite ladder of knowledge, and I refuse to stop until I reach the top. Obviously the workload and stress are detrimental, however I will do anything in my power in order to aid me on my quest of attaining wisdom. My career field has many options, allowing me to sharpen whatever skills I desire. I have chosen and have completed a multitude of classes that I believed would benefit me most.
  5. I have found that the deciding factor on whether or not I excel, depends on my determination. I coasted through the first few years of my career, however I chose to excel throughout the final 7 years. I spent countless hours completing a countless number of projects, and studying for countless numbers of tests. All of this time spent, and all of these minor tasks completed, all with one goal in mind. I am longing to continue my career into college, as it is my only remaining goal. It is my desire, my final plan, and my endgame.
