- Lyra and Bon-Bon
- - Chapter 2 -
- Cold
- It was a very cold and foggy morning and Lyra was going to Bon-Bon's house, to get her to go somewhere together. She was wearing a scarf, because it was that cold. Lyra went up to the door and knocked lightly. Silence. She knocked again. Still nothing. She knocked harder and the door open. It was unlocked. Lyra went into the house.
- "Bon-Bon?" Lyra said.
- No answer. Lyra walked pass the table with the tea cups and unclean dishes. she went upstairs to Bon-Bon's room. Lyra opened the door slowly.
- "Bon-Bon?" she whispered.
- Bon-Bon was sleeping in her bed curled up in the blanket, her mouth open and she was dripping a bit. Lyra walked over to her and shook her gently.
- "Come on get up! Wakie wakie!"
- She just turned to the other side and kept sleeping. Lyra walked to the window and pulled the curtains open to let the sunshine in. she thought that maybe natural sunlight will wake her up, if not, she would surprise her. Lyra got into Bon-Bon's bed and waited until she would finally wake up. A few minutes later, Bon-Bon opened her eyes slowly. She got startled by seeing Lyra laying next to her out of nowhere.
- "Ly- Lyra?" she said out of confusion.
- "Good morning Bon-Bon." Lyra said with a smile on her face.
- Bon-Bon sat up.
- "Wh- what are you doing in here? Ho- how did you get in? What's the mea- mph!" Bon-Bon got cut off by Lyra kissing her on the lips passionately. Bon-Bon immediately broke the kiss.
- "Ok. NOW Im really, REALLY confused." Bon-Bon said wile blushing slightly.
- "Oh... I'm sorry... Let me explain..." Lyra said with a sad expression on her face.
- "Please do." Bon-Bon said with a bit of nervousness and laugher in her tone.
- "I wanted to go somewhere today..." Lyra said. "So I came to your house, and... The door was unlocked..."
- "Wh- what?" Bon-Bon said.
- "Yeah... Then I came into your room and you wouldn't wake up so..." Lyra said."Sorry If I scared you..." She added.
- "It's ok... But I want something from you since you did this to me..." Bon-Bon said sarcastically dirtily.
- Lyra grinned nervously. "Like what?"
- "I want you..." Bon-Bon said. "To make me... " She paused.
- Lyra was thinking of what horrible things might happen...
- "Breakfast." Bon-Bon finally finished.
- Lyra sighed.
- "Okay!" she said happily.
- Lyra went downstairs and started making Bon-Bon some cupcakes and tea. Meanwhile, Bon-Bon was brushing her teeth. when she spit the toothpaste out, she saw her face. It looked tired. She thought of what she was doing with her life. Getting drunk all the. She needed to stop drinking, but her addictiveness was too strong for her to resist. She needed help. Bon-Bon started to have an urge to stop this addictive and bad habit. She washed her face.
- "It's a new day." She said.
- Bon-Bon was walking downstairs.
- "Breakfast is ready!" Lyra said, sitting on the couch, looking at Bon-Bon with a smile on her face.
- "Heh, thanks.... Ooh! Cupcakes!" Bon-Bon said, as she walked to the table and ate a cupcake.
- "Where did you get these?" Bon-Bon asked.
- "I made them while I was at Diane's house." Lyra answered.
- "Diane? Who is she?" Bon-Bon said with confusion.
- "Diane! You know.... Pinkamena." Lyra said.
- "Oh! You mean Pinkie Pie! Heh, yeah, she's one good of a baker." Bon-Bon said. "I just don't know how she makes them so delicious. Did you ask her about that?"
- "Well, she uses some kind of special ingredients that she said are in her basement. Maybe it's some kind of frosting, I don't know..."Lyra said.
- "Yeah..." Bon-Bon said, as she finished the last cupcake. She drank her tea in one go, like she would with a bottle of vodka or rum. She slammed the cup on the table.
- "So... Where do you want to go today?" Bon-Bon said.
- "I wanted to go to the woods... I lost my saddlebag when I was at Fluttershy's..." Lyra said.
- "Hm.... Alright! Let's find that saddlebag." Bon-Bon said and she carried the cup to the kitchen.
- Lyra went to the door and wrapped the scarf around her neck. Bon-Bon came to the door.
- "Alright let's go" she opened the door.
- "Wait!" Lyra said.
- "What?" Bon-Bon said.
- "Don't you think you should take a scarf? It's cold out there..." Lyra said.
- "Nah I'll be fine." Bon-Bon answered.
- "Whatever you say..." Lyra said.
- They went outside and Lyra reminded Bon-Bon to lock the door. And so she did. They walked away, to the woods chatting about stuff that happened.
- ---
- The finally get to the forest. They get closer to each other, because the atmosphere created with the coldness, fogginess, slight darkness was scary. They walked around, looking for the saddlebag. They looks on the ground, in the tall grass and even in the bushes. They found nothing.
- Lyra looked the other side of the woods and she got a memory of running from there. She told Bon-Bon to go this way with her, since she remembered of being there. The other side was different from the whole forest. The tree's were a bit more far away from each other and smaller. The pathway was wider, and the grass was shorter. It was less foggy.
- They were walking around the place. It was less spooky than the rest of the woods, but I was still quite scary. They were walking around. They looked at an abandoned building and some big rocks. They found nothing.
- After about 2 hours of searching, they were about to give up, but Bon-Bon saw the saddlebag. She ran to it and took the saddlebag and returned it to Lyra. As soon as she did that, there was a loud thumping noise. Bon-Bon Got closer to Lyra out of fright. The thumping noise started to get louder. Bon-Bon got scared a bit so she told Lyra to get out of here. They two ponies started running from the "Other side". While they were running, Bon-Bon saw something so scary, that It stopped her in her tracks. She fell on the ground. Lyra looked back at her. She came to her marefriend and got her up. While she was doing that, she also saw what stopped Bon-Bon in her tracks. She got so frighten that she quickly picked her friend up, shook her awake and started running like her eyes were on fire. They ran out of the part of the forest. Lyra looked back at the place. Then she hugged Bon-Bon and asked if she is okay. Bon-Bon was acting quite strangely. she could hear he friend, but she couldn't talk or make any facial expressions. Even though Bon-Bon was very very scared, she still had the same face. The couple stood there, tired of running and afraid, with the echoing of the thumping noise getting louder. As soon as they stopped hugging, out of nowhere teleported a Stallion, with a white face. He let out a static noise, which shocked Lyra out of her bones. The couple started running away from the creature. As fast as theyr hooves could carry them.
- After a half an hour of running away, they finally got home. Bon-Bon opened the door. They got in.
- "Bon-Bon are you okay?" Lyra asked.
- Bon-Bon got back into her senses. She ran up to Lyra and hugged her tightly.
- "Oh Lyra, I'm really really really scared! I don't know what that thing was I..." Bon-Bon said, almost crying. Lyra started rubbing her back, trying to get her warm a bit.
- "Ssshhh.... Calm down." Lyra said and slowly led Bon-Bon to her bedroom.
- She laid her down, and Bon-Bon stopped crying and sobbing, until Lyra said:
- "You get some sleep. Goodnight." Bon-bon started to cry as Lyra was about to leave the room.
- "NO NO! Lyra please stay with me! Please! I'm so scared! Please!.." Bon-Bon cried out.
- Lyra sighed and got into bed with her. She spooned Bon-Bon and went to sleep. Bon-Bon was slowly drifting into sleep.
- --
- The next morning Lyra woke up and looked into Bon-Bon's closed eyes. She looked so calm when she was sleeping. Bon-Bon moved to the other side, so Lyra just looked up at the ceiling, waiting for Bon-Bon to wake up. After about half an hour Bon-Bon sneezes.
- "Bon-Bon? Are you okay?" Lyra said restlessly.
- Bon-Bon sniffed "Uh-huh... I'll be fine..." Bon-Bon said.
- "You don't look so good. Or sound the same. I think you have a cold Bon-Bon." Lyra said.
- "No no no! I hate cold's..." Bon-Bon said.
- "Don't worry, I'll nurse you." Lyra said. She got out of the bed. "I'll be right back."
- Lyra went downstairs to get Bon-Bon some coffee and a few blanket's. She got some blankets from her downstairs closet and brought them to Bon-Bon and went back downstairs to make her some coffee. She quickly made some hot coffee and ran upstairs, trying not to spill what's in the cup. When Bon-Bon was finally covered in blankets and was drinking coffee, Lyra said she's going to get some medicine at the chemists. Lyra took her scarf, saddle bags and some money and darted out of the house. She didn't want Bon-Bon to wait any longer and she really didn't want a sick friend. But she still had a passion for nursing. It made her feel good and that she is important. Just like when she is playing her Lyre.
- While Lyra was gone, Bon-Bon turned her lamp and took a book from the drawer. The book was very old. Bon-Bon never showed it to Lyra, since there's something about the book that was just... Too secret to show. Something that gave Bon-Bon the feel of nostalgia. She always read the book when she was completely bored or very sad. The book had no title, no chapters, but just stories... Of Bon-Bon's mothers and hers when she was little. It was the diary of Bon-Bon's mother. Bon-Bon knew that she's doing a bad thing, reading someone else's diary. Like all the other things that were wrong: dating a mare, drinking... And so on. She wanted to change some of that, but mostly she fell in love with every bad habit, but, reading her mother's diary, was helping her understand the good's and bad's of having a stallion rather than a mare as a husband. Bon-Bon didn't really think of marrying Lyra, since she thought that would be a bit awkward. But on the other side, Ponyville has too many mares and not enough stallions, which lead to one stallion getting 5 or 4 mares. That's why there were so many herds in this town. Bon-Bon didn't like herds, she didn't know why, maybe because they are overcrowded with mares, but she likes mares.... It's probably because herds are overcrowded. She read the book for about 4 hours, since it's was very very long and interesting. She also had to search the dictionary for some words that were too hard to understand.
- She kept reading, until she heard the door opening. Bon-Bon quickly hid the book in its secret place. She got under the sheets and pretended to sleep. Lyra came upstairs and slowly opened the door. She looked at Bon-Bon calmly "sleeping". She walked to the small night-table and putted the medicine there. Lyra bent over to Bon-Bon and gently shook her.
- "Bon-Bon~! Waky-waky~!" Lyra said with a sing-song voice.
- Bon-Bon slowly opened her eyes.
- "Mmnn... Hi Lyra..." Bon-Bon said with a fake morning-tone. Lyra sat on the bed and poured some medicine into a spoon.
- "Sit up. Time to take your medicine." Lyra said as Bon-Bon sat up. Lyra slowly, trying not to spill, putted the spoon in her mouth. Bon-Bon slowly swallowed the medicine. Lyra also gave her some pills. After that Lyra asked if Bon-Bon needed any more blankets or tea, and was about to leave. Bon-Bon asked why she's leaving.
- "Sorry Bon-Bon, but I have to practice my Lyre. I have a big concert next week." Lyra said.
- "Why don't you practice here? It'll be fun!" Bon-Bon suggested.
- "Hm... I don't know..." Lyra replied. Bon-Bon cheered, but the cheer ended with a cough. Lyra got Bon-Bon even more tea and blankets and then she left to get her stuff.
- --
- After about an hour, Lyra finally came back. She got into the house easily, since the door was not locked. She climbed upstairs and as soon as she started opening the door, Bon-Bon hid her book.
- "Hi Bon-Bon... What were you reading?" Lyra said.
- "Hi... Um... Uh... Nothing, nothing..." Bon-Bon said.
- "You can tell me, I'm your marefriend you know..." Lyra said.
- "Yeah... Um... Hey you got your lyre fixed huh?" Bon-Bon said with a hint of nervousness.
- "It wasn't broken..." Lyra said.
- "Oh um... Then... What are you going to play today?" Bon-Bon said as Lyra sat down on a chair and put the notes on the table.
- "Well... Um... What would you like to hear?" Lyra said.
- "You can play anything? I mean, anything I want?" Bon-Bon asked.
- "Yeah. It's pretty easy, you know. You just give me a key-note, I find the tonality based to the note you sang and then-" Lyra got cut off by Bon-Bon.
- "Okay I get it... I think... Um... Can you play our favorite song?" Bon-Bon said.
- "Um... Yeah sure..." Lyra said, and played a range.
- "... What's the key note?" Lyra asked Bon-Bon, and she sang C#.
- "Oh okay..." Lyra said as she started to play and sing the Winter Wrap Up song, getting accompanied by Bon-Bon. They sang and played the whole song about 3 times, and after that Lyra get herself and Bon-Bon a cup of tea. Then Lyra started to play all her orchestra and other songs that kept Bon-Bon breathless. The melodies and the interval's were amazingly in-tune. She kept listening until she got a bit sleepy. She laid on her side and kept listening a bit. Lyra noticed that and started playing slow and relaxing songs and melodies of songs that she tried to learn by ear. Bon-Bon started to get really really sleepy. It started to rain quietly. The sound of Lyra playing and the soft sound of raindrops made the atmosphere of the room cozy. Lyra was playing and playing, until she got tired herself. She looked at Bon-Bon. She was sleeping snuggled up in dozens of blankets and pillows. Her mouth was open a bit and she was drooling. Lyra dawed and packed everything up. She looked outside and then to the clock. It was very late. It was also raining, so there was no reason to go home for her, so she closed the curtains and shut the light off and snuggled into the bed with Bon-Bon and started to sleep with her, hugging her...
- --
- Bon-Bon got up at about 3 a-clock in the morning. She looked at Lyra, smiled and said while drinking some vodka "Heh... Medicine won't heal me."
