  12. Well, shaping up pretty much according to my expectations. Here's a lazy summary to tide everyone over until El Rue's post.

  16. Chapter starts out with the Tio trio. Tio heals up Suzu and Ryuutaro, who are more disgusted than usual with her ordinary behavior after witnessing her nobility last week. Tio tells Ryuutaro that only Hajime is good enough for her, which angers him, although both he and Suzu think Hajime is amazing for being able to match someone like Tio(lol).

  18. They come out of the end of their passage and meet the Yue group. Yue and Kaori are still fighting, stretching each other's cheeks in a comical manner while Shia tries to arbitrate. Eventually she loses her temper and punches the two of them on the top of the head.

  20. Finally the group continues on to the next passage. Shia catches sign of people down the way, and as the girls concentrate they can feel the presence of Hajime and Kouki......trying to kill each other.....

  22. Flash to Kouki's perspective. We get some of his backstory delivered. He is the only child of an ordinary family. He admires his grandfather, who was a famous, talented lawyer. His grandfather, a widower, also doted on Kouki whenever the family would visit him.

  24. Kouki obtained his ideals and sense of justice from his grandfather. Unfortunately, his grandfather died before being able to teach reality to Kouki. Due to the impact of his hero's death, the more Kouki remembered him the more he beautified the image of his grandfather and the concept of ideal correctness dug itself further into his mind. He could not admit anything less than his ideal, and came to think that what the majority of people thought was correct was absolutely correct.

  26. Unfortunately, because his specs were too high, he never had to face harsh reality due to failing at something. Thus he never came to doubt his own correctness. It was only after coming to the different world that doubt about his own correctness began to creep into his mind. That time in Orcus facing the Majin woman where he met his first failure was what triggered it all...

  28. Present time. Kouki is fighting his reflection. Grey Kouki is taunting him about Hajime stealing Kaori from him. Kouki tries to respond about the talk he had with Shizuku afterward but his reflection scoffs. He never took her words to heart. Deep down he believed that Kaori was supposed to be the heroine of he who was the hero.

  30. Naturally, Kouki denies this and flies into a rage, but his attacks fall short. The taunting continues, saying that the holy sword is wasted on him, or perhaps because he hates Hajime he refuses to use it to its full potential. Denial. Kouki was also upset that Yue and the other girls adored Hajime who could easily kill a person. Denial. Hajime's strength should have belonged to Kouki. Denial. Kouki felt more envy than gratitude whenever Hajime saved him. Denial. The reflection kept being strengthened.

  32. Kouki gets beaten down. The reflection continues. He wants Hajime to kneel on the ground before him. He wants to take Kaori back. He wants Yue and the other girls to admire him. He wants to save the world and return with everyone, bathing in their praise. DENIAL.

  34. Kouki uses limit break and attacks because he can't stand to hear anymore. The reflection also uses limit break and forces him back again, mocking him about how he can pull out so much killing intent as a "hero".
  35.  
  36. Then the reflection pulls out the largest card, the fact that he noticed that Shizuku had feelings for Hajime. Kouki loses it completely and attacks wildly, but the reflection wards him off easily. As the talk of Shizuku continues, the wall opens up and they feel the presence of people entering the room. Of course, it was Hajime carrying still sleeping Shizuku on his back. Kouki sees the happy looking expression on Shizuku's face and something broke off....to be continued.

  41. 'saa, the reality is coming you know,,?

  44. Soon after, part of the Ice wall in the room where Kouki was in melted, and a new passage has appeared. The surprised Kouki winch and his body start to quiver, while being cautious towards the fake whose grinning and laughing in front of his eyes, he then turn his gaze towards the small passage.

  46. And then, his gaze focusing on the scene making his eyes wide open.

  48. 'The trial still continue, huh...'
  49.  
  50. In there the figure of Hajime carrying Shizuku could be seen. Kouki's line of sight was attracted to Shizuku. To be exact, the happy face of Shizuku sleeping soundly as if fully relieved with her cheeks fawning on Hajime's shoulder.

  52. Something inside Kouki has snapped.

  58. Pretty much. Welp, we finally got the Kouki chapter...here's my poor take.

  60. El Rue (Spoiler for ch148):

  62. - Starts with Tio healing both Suzu & Ryutaro while emitting her womanly grace & elegance, she also teases Ryutaro a bit. The next path's wall melts & the three meet up with Yue's group...only to see that Yue & Kaori in the middle of a catfight while Shia is trying to stop them.

  64. - Tio observed & guessed that Yue seemed to have gone through some things & even nticed that Shia & Yue has gotten even closer than before. They continue on after some small talk, at the dead end Shia & the rest senses a storm of murderous intent on the next room. From Hajime & Kouki.

  66. - It then shifts to stuff about Kouki, like how he respected his lawyer grandpa where he heard stories that embodies ideals & justice. Apparently the whole "prioritizing protecting the client interests" parts weren't properly taught after his passing. It seems grandpa's death was a great shock to him that the thoughts & memories of his 'Hero' & his teachings & ideals we're "beautified" so to speak.

  68. - But he was just too extraordinary that he didn't have any major failures or setbacks that would have taught him reality's harshness early resulting in him unaware & not even doubting his correctness & his usual convenient interpretations (which also led to some incidents like that of young Shizuku's). His good intentions became a distortion of "ideal correctness".

  70. - All of that began collapse with all that he's experienced in the other world (Orcus, Kaori leaving, etc). His fake was gleefully reminding him of all these as he desperately tries to shut it up while getting trashed (like his jealousy despite being helped several times by Hajime, possessiveness of Kaori, etc).

  72. - Fake Kouki keeps on taunting him of his inner darkness, he snaps & used Limit Break but so does the fake. It taunts him of his murderous intent as he furiously tries to attack it, it even asks on just who Shizuku is looking at & says that he will be deprived of both Kaori & her further enraging him.

  74. - As Kouki is kneeling in his beaten state, he senses something through LimitBreaks enhancement, fake even saying that it was good timing as 'reality' is about to be shown to Kouki again. The icewall melts revealing Hajime carrying Shizuku.

  76. - Kouki is still trying to deny what he's seeing but sees Shizuku's sleeping soundly with a happy & relieved look on her face. Something inside Kouki finally snapped.

  79. From this, maniac88's & boris, you spoilerinos can pretty much see what happened. Which is: Kouki happened.
