  1. gt Symphonium, word from the Frost Queen. The Symphonium will hold no Patronage requests, or any similar 'guild business' with Her, will be entertained while the Opus holds office.
  2.
  3. Jadice, the Frost Queen says to you, "You have always acted with decorum; it is much appreciated. Kindly inform the Symphonium at large that no Patronage requests, nor indeed any other 'guild business' with Me, will be entertained while Maligorn remains Opus."
  4.
  5. Greetings, Symphonium,
  6.
  7. It is dire tidings that I bring to you of events that occured upon the twenty-fourth of Klangiary, stated below for you to see.
  8.
  9. Lady Jadice, the Frost Queen, announced Her desire to be attended by our Sublime Opus, a Maligorn Shevat. The rest of the Symphonium attentive were also invited through the same manner, though in a very cordial manner. After greetings were exchanged, She delegated her thoughts to the Opus, having received a prayer concerning 'guild matters' that needed urgent attention.
  10.
  11. Upon hearing this news, I responded accordingly with an arch of my eyebrow, for any guild matters that needed discussing with one other than our Patron, the Lady Aesthete, would be to seek out a new Patron, which was not agreed upon by the Symphonium or even brought before the Conductorate.
  12.
  13. Jadice, the Frost Queen said, "In it, you communicated that the Symphonium 'requires' a Patron and that you had held a referendum in which I had placed second after the Aesthete, and that 'the task therefore falls to' Me. You then requested I become Patron, provided I possess the ability to do so and to appreciate the crystal aria taught by Crys and Jilai. You then encouraged Me to respond quickly."
  14.
  15. Hearing this, I quickly brought up the referendum's results and the illicit nature this affair seemed to be developing, but the Opus responded to the Frost Queen first, saying that, "The Symphonium does -require- a Patron, though the task does not fall to You. With respect to Your autonomy, I cannot force you to become our Guild Patron, nor would I dare to. Merely, I wished to emphasise the need and hopefully foster a sense of cooperation between the Grand Hallifaxian Opera Symphonium and Your being."
  16.
  17. Only then did he turn to me in this regard and state that he took it upon himself as an 'executive decision' to make. Is this the sort of behaviour we expect of our Sublime Opus, the face of the Symphonium? In a cold demeanour, he continued that the referendum only served (in his mind) to further his 'executive decision'.
  18.
  19. The Lady Jadice cut in at this moment, stating that our affairs would be handled internally. Then, she declared our Opus would bear Her true disfavour. Two years time were given to the Symphonium to practise decorum and politeness before making another offer - though the first was not made at our behest.
  20.
  21. Then, matters became far more complicated. Upon his dismissal from Her presence to the Astral plane, Maligorn returned immediately. In a moment of grace, She offered him the chance to correct his mistake and leave of his own accord, Her sight being offended by his presence, before She did so Herself.
  22.
  23. Unfortunately, our Opus had the presence of mind (or lacked one) to respond that She should do so, for he feared neither Elder nor Soulless, and would endure as the Elders did not.
  24.
  25. It is pointless to say that he met Her cold fury before the watching eye of the Collective, for such a conclusion is a certainty at this point.
  26.
  27. After apologies were given on behalf of the Board, his family, and the Symphonium by the Primus Tekora, Lady Sylandra, and myself respectively, She stated that no Patronage requests, nor indeed any other 'guild business' with Her, will be entertained while Maligorn remains our Opus.
  28.
  29.
  30. And there you have it, Symphonists. Our third article of Decorum tarnished, and our name lessened in the eyes of the Frost Queen, the Lady Aesthete's esteemed colleague. It is not with a pleasant feeling I pen this to the scribes at the Ministry of Information, for there is no reason such a thing should have come to pass. We must strive to correct and compensate for the err of our Opus, and remind the Collective of the Higher Emotions' positive direction to our lives.
  31.
  32.
  33. In Solemn Duty,
  34.
  35. T. Windwhisper
  36. the Lady Potentate
