  12. 1 Introduction: explain what general topic the professor is talking about
  13. 2 Lead-in: state what kind of points the professor makes (“She gives two definitions of money.”)
  14. 3 First point (“Under the broad definition, money is anything that can be exchanged for goods or services.”)
  15. 4 Detail/example (“For example, a taxi driver could give a ride to a farmer in exchange for vegetables.”)
  16. 5 Second point (“Under the narrow definition, money is only what has to be accepted by law in a country.”)
