- The beginning is terrible but endure it till about line 298 and it gets better.
- It will continue to improve as I improve as a writer.
- Thank you for even giving my story the time of day.
- And thank you to those who assisted in my writing.
- Those include : Moth, Riggyrag, Biscuit bass and all the Anons who gave me a shit storm of advice!
- >It was a nice day out for a walk through ponyville.
- >The weather was nice the breeze was calm and birds were chirping their own song.
- >You were passing an alley when you could swear you heard sobbing.
- >There was a small box with a thin mare inside, she looked like she was having a terrible day.
- "are you okay?"
- >"yeah, don't suppose you have any spare change? I'll do anything you ask."
- >she was still barely holding back tears as she looked up at you. >Ididntaskforthesefeels.jpg
- >twilight will be pissed but you decide to do it anyway.
- >you drop a small bag of change next to her, her eyes light up as she looks inside.
- "200 bits, go nuts."
- >this was barely even pocket change to you being royalty and all.
- >she was speechless though.
- >"no pony ever gave me this much thak you so much!"
- >she was bawling now, unable to control her tears.
- >you couldn't ask anything in return from this helpless mare. could you?
- >you were now thinking of the things she would do for that amount of bits.
- >no. you can't, the thoughts are repulsive.
- >your mind is disgusting, you hate it sometimes.
- >she snaps you out of your thoughts and back to reality.
- >"what is it you want me to do?"
- "come with me, i'll take you to my place."
- >you lead her to your castle, well techically your mom's castle that fell out of the sky.
- >it was a pretty good size for one in ponyville.
- >did i mention it fell out of the fucking sky? yeah pretty cool, huh?
- >mom told you stories about the day it fell. you never paid much attention.
- >something about teerek and tartarus and friendship blah blah blah.
- >you looked at the mare again, she is in awe at what she is seeing.
- >you take pity on her, this will be the best day of her life. you hope...
- >"i knew you were royalty, but this is still so much better than i thought it would be."
- "thanks, i guess. Wait you know who i am?
- >"duh you're anonymous. Everyone knows about twilights human son.
- >should have seen that one coming.
- "i never got your name by the way."
- >"I'm sunset, sunset original twilight shimmer."
- >you're interrupted by your mom coming out of the castle with a pile of your stuff lifted via magic.
- "mom what are you doing?!"
- >she seemed surprised you're back so early.
- >"i-I'm sorry nonny I want you out of the house."
- "what? Why?!"
- >she doesn't respond, she can't.
- "please mom don't do this I don't know how to take care of myself!"
- >"anon you're a big pony-er human you can figure it out."
- >in tears now you continue
- "no I don't I've had people practically wipe my ass my entire life!"
- >"sorry, you can't change my mind I've had a lot of time to think about this."
- >"its what's best for you."
- >how could being homeless be what's best for you?
- "do I at least get money to get started?"
- >"you have plenty of things in these piles of crap that are worth good money."
- "how could I sell this stuff, its my life!?"
- >"its actually easier than you think when you're really hungry." sunset chimes in.
- >not helping. You send her a please stop talking glare.
- >"you'll find a way to make this work anon, I just know it.
- >you wipe tears from you're eyes. You're such a pussy.
- >here sunset had been living on her own in a box.
- >just trying to scrape by while you lived your pampered life.
- >but now it's gone.
- >you and sunset go to sell all your possessions.
- >barely making 100 bits you and sunset now have 300 bits total now to live off of.
- >you just hope she won't just walk away and not help you.
- >you have nothing she would want now.
- >where would you stay now? what would you do for money?
- >you could get an apartment or find someone to live with for a while while you figured out what to do.
- >there were always some of twilight's friends.
- >which one? rainbow dash wouldn't work at all.
- >since you'd just fall through clouds even if you were to be able to make it up there.
- >you think applejack wouldn't be a bad choice since she could probably use help on the farm.
- >but a farm sounded boring and difficult.
- >a boutique sounded just as boring, but maybe she could make you and sunset clothes for free.
- >fluttershy didn't sound bad either though, it would be quiet there and you did like animals.
- >you weren't sure about pinkie, breakfast would probably be cake knowing her.
- "sunset how do you feel about staying with fluttershy? we'll have to ask of course. but maybe it won't be to bad."
- >"i'm sure it will be fine, she's the one thats good with animals right?"
- "yeah, they're all nice except one rabbit gets annoyed pretty quick."
- >time to go ask flutters.
- >you walk up to nice small house with animals playing all over the yard.
- >there is a butter colored mare tending to her garden humming to herself.
- "guess we should go say hi."
- >"yeah, I hope she's nice.
- "what fluttershy? She couldn't hurt a fly. No really she wouldn't be able to."
- >that made her smile at least.
- >you walk up to fluttershy with sunset. She doesn't even notice till you're directly behind her.
- >she jumps letting out a high pitched squeal.
- >"a-anon don't scare me like that."
- >she notices sunset standing awkwardly a couple of feet away.
- >she says something almost un-hearable, you had experience with this softness to her voice.
- >it was because she got shy when she saw some pony she didn't know.
- >You could barely make it out.
- >"w-who is this a-anon?"
- "fluttershy this is sunset shimmer. Her parents kind of kicked her out and i promised to help."
- "which is why i have to ask you something, maybe over tea or something?"
- >"of course, come inside."
- >*tips fedora* m'lady x2.
- >as you walk in fluttershy walks to the kitchen, humming again.
- >you and sunset sit on the couch and discuss nothing. Not much to say.
- >you break the awkward silence.
- "soo... The weather, it was good right?"
- >"uh, yeah it was."
- >smooth anonymous, smooth.
- >fluttershy walks in with 3 cups and a plate of sandwiches.
- >you tried one.
- "are these cucumber sandwiches?"
- >"yeah angel really likes them."
- >angel stares at you with a menacing glare as he nibbles on a sandwich.
- >he's always hated you, you really don't know why.
- "so flutters I have to ask you...
- >you trail off not sure quite how to say it.
- >"yes?"
- >it all comes out at once
- "twilightkickedmeoutofthehouseandipromisedsunsetiwouldhelphergetsomewheretostayandidontknowwhattodo."
- >you're crying at this point pride diminished.
- >not even looking surprised she says.
- >"you poor thing you can stay here as long as you like."
- "really?"
- >"really."
- >without another word you wrap your arms around fluttershy and hug her.
- >you hold it as long as you can.
- >it was getting late.
- >"you and sunset should get some rest."
- >"where is it we can sleep?"
- >"unfortunately I only have one spare bedroom, but someone can sleep on the couch with angel if they want."
- >white knight.exe launched.
- "I'll take the couch."
- >"you sure? Your used to sleeping in beds softer than clouds, I'm used to sleeping in a box."
- >she's right
- "no no, I insist you take the bed. I will be just fine."
- >this couch is not comfortable at all.
- >"oh, ok.
- >you can see the excitement in her eyes to sleep in a real bed for once.
- >you wish you could be as excited but you got the couch.
- >as fluttershy took sunset to her room you laid down, you fell asleep almost instantly.
- >angel wakes you up by jumping on your head, he starts making some kind of hand signs.
- >you sit up, he moves over and lays down where your head was. You were in his spot.
- >you were to tired to be angry at this point.
- >You wake up to the sound of running water and muffled singing.
- >you figure out the cords pretty quick and hum along it's almost relaxing.
- >your eyes were getting heavy and you knocked that shit off pretty quick.
- >from the couch you can see the bathroom door and hear flutters outside.
- >time to get up and stretch a little.
- >you do your morning routine and return to the couch.
- >you look back to the shower as it's been about 30 minutes since you got up and the water turns off.
- >out comes the most beautiful mare you've ever seen.
- >you've never been attracted to mares even though you were raised like a pony, you just never had an interest in them.
- >but she rustled the jimmies in your jeans.
- >She was perfect, the the stunning orange of her body, the fiery red hair with lightning streaks of yellow scattered about so lightly.
- >those seafoam green eyes that reminded you of the oceans you used to see from your mothers balloon as a child.
- >Its amazing what a good rest and a shower can do.
- >Snap out of it anon you're not even the same species.
- >Besides why would she want someone like you.
- >no more royalty, no job hell if it wasn't for fluttershy you would be in the same position as she was.
- >you chase those thoughts away as she speaks.
- >"Hey anon is something wrong you seem down?" sunset says drying off the last of her hair.
- >You swallow your thoughts and put on your nah I'm cool smile.
- "Yeah I'm fine a little hungry is all."
- >You let out a little nervous laugh and stand up.
- >in all truth you were hungry all you had yesterday was oatmeal for breakfast and those cucumber sandwiches that fuck with your dreams.
- "Lets get some breakfast I'm hungry how about you?"
- >Sunset thinks about it for a good second or two.
- >"Yeah I could use some food."
- "I'll let flutters know were leaving just let me grab our bits first then we'll head out."
- >She grins.
- >you start to leave the room and make it to the doorway.
- >ohshit.jpg your legs slide from under you and you grab frantically but your goin down.
- "FUCK." you yell out loud.
- >Sunset runs to your side asking a million and on questions:
- "AnonareyouokHowmanyfing..erhoofsamiholdingupshouldigetadoctorletmegetfluttersohmycelestiaIhope....
- >To save your dignity you keep your face against the floor and raise a finger to Sunsets lips.
- >You get up to see what caused you to trip and there on the floor you couldn't believe your eyes as you and Sunset stare dumbfounded.
- "Fucking pasta sauce Celestia dammit."
- >The over exertion gives you a headache, your head starts swimming and you go down again blacking out before you hit the ground.
- >you wake up trying to shake the sleep from your eyes for a second time.
- >as you try to sit up your head starts to ache, you feel like you got hit by a herd of ponys.
- "what the hell happened?"
- >"anon! you're awake!"
- "sunset?"
- "yes, it's me!"
- >she looked terrible.
- >"you've been in a coma."
- >what?
- "what!?!"
- >"yeah, it was tough but you're ok now."
- >tears are falling from her eyes.
- >it felt like 5 minutes ago you were day dreaming about those same eyes.
- >it hurt to think about how they looked 5 minutes ago.
- >now they were bawling with relief.
- >she rest her head on your chest still crying.
- "i won't leave you again like that. i promise."
- >you say as you try to sit up.
- >she won't let you.
- >"stop, you need you're rest."
- "come on, i've been asleep this whole time! speaking of that how long was i out?"
- >"about a week..."
- "wow, how long have you been here?"
- >"about a week..."
- >she barely finishes before she's crying again.
- >"this is my fault."
- "no it's not it's mine."
- >better stay in bed, for her sake.
- >why does she think it's her fault?
- >why?
- >before you can even really think about it to much you fall asleep.
- you are sunset
- >your head is still on his chest.
- >you hear his breathing start to slow down.
- >is he asleep?
- >you don't dare move.
- >he's so warm.
- >your eyes get heavy.
- >you start to fall asleep as well.
- >"love you anon."
- "love you too sunset."
- you are anon again
- >you wake up.
- >you get up groggily.
- >head still hurting.
- >you think about what happened the night before.
- >so she had feelings for you too.
- >a nurse walks in.
- >"anon! you should be in bed!"
- "i'm fine."
- >"you were just in a coma!"
- "i'll be alright."
- >"you take it easy though okay?"
- "yeah."
- >"you have a visitor though."
- >then you're mom walks in.
- "what do you want?"
- >"hello, anon. are you okay? they said you just woke up."
- "yeah, and?"
- >"i came to see if you were okay!"
- "really? didn't seem like you cared when you kicked me out."
- >the nurse backs out of the room slowly.
- >"i'll be outside."
- >"anonymous! i did this because i care about you!"
- "kicking me out!? not even giving me a recomendation as where to go?!"
- >"i wanted you to figure it out like everypony else does!"
- >"life won't always be as easy as using your mothers money and royalty as an excuse for everything!"
- "there were better ways to do that then just saying get out and spreading my stuff out on the lawn!"
- >"i'm sorry, i just didn't know how else to let you go."
- >"i hope you'll forgive me.
- >you don't say anything as she walks out.
- >"i love you anonymous."
- "i wish i could say the same thing back."
- >you sneak out of the hospital.
- >the walk home wasn't fun.
- >there was a single rain cloud above your head as you walked out.
- >"oh, sorry anon. missed this one."
- >a blue pegasus says as she disperses the cloud.
- "it's okay dash."
- >"Hey anon is something wrong its almost like you have a rain cloud above your head,...no pun intended" Rainbow Dash asked with an actual hint
- >of sincereness in her voice.
- "it's nothing Dash just leave me alone."
- >"Look nothing gets past aunty Dash so if something's wrong just tell me."
- >Rainbow Dash always had a hard head hell its probably where you got yours from.
- >you raised your voice for the first time ever to anyone in ponyville.
- "Dash LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH YOUR SHIT RIGHT Now!"
- >your voice trails off as she reeled back with actual tears in her eyes.
- >no one ever spoke to Dash like that before.
- "Dash look im.."
- >you were cut off.
- >"Save it I understand I know when om not wanted."
- >she flew off between broken sobs.
- "FUCK!"
- >this day couldn't get any worse and if it wouldn't matter you just wanted to lay down and die
- >then and there.
- >you continue the walk home in silence not even looking up to return greetings of the ponies you pass by
- >the only reason you didn't die on that spot was the hope of seeing Sunset again.
- you are twilight.
- >you are sad and alone.
- >spike won't visit you for another month.
- >you wish anon didn't take it the way he did.
- >you feel a tear land on your hoof.
- >you were crying.
- >you took another drink of whiskey.
- >why did anon hate you?
- >you were just trying to make him a normal person.
- >after all you wouldn't be around forever.
- >you decide to send a letter.
- >"Spike, take a letter to anon."
- >oh, yeah... Spike isn't here anymore...
- >you sob a bit.
- >maybe tomorrow when you're sober.
- >you fall asleep.
- You are anon.
- >You feel bad about what you did to Rainbow.
- >You'll have to go say sorry.
- >You walk inside Fluttershy's house.
- >"Anon? What are you doing here they said you wouldn't be out for another day."
- "I'm okay. I promise, Sunset."
- >"Okay, but if you start to feel bad just tell me."
- >"I'll drag your ass back to the hospital if I have to."
- >She gave a little playful grin.
- "I bet you would, too."
- >You smile. At least one thing's going good for you right now.
- "At some point I need to go see Rainbow Dash — just so you know."
- >"Okay, can I come too?"
- "Sorry, but I'll need some time to talk to her alone."
- >"Oh..."
- >A small silence held both of you.
- >She seemed disappointed for a second, yet she perked back up when you spoke.
- "About what you said in the hospital--"
- >You begin to speak, but she snatches your tongue.
- >"I meant it"
- >She somehow knew what you were trying to ask
- >She looked up filled with hope.
- "You did?"
- >She blushed as she said it.
- >"Of course."
- "I did too."
- >Your heartbeat starts to quicken.
- >You feel the sensation of blood flowing faster and faster.
- >Without another thought, you kneel down and stare her straight in the eyes.
- >She smiles a second time.
- >She makes her way to you, slowly closing the distance.
- >Before embracing you with her forelegs.
- >You return the gesture.
- >Today became a pretty great day once you saw Sunset again.
- >You both let go slowly.
- >"Maybe you should relax and get some rest."
- >She says with a worried look in her eyes.
- "Alright, I'll just talk to dash in the morning."
- >You didn't want to argue.
- >You take a seat on your bed A.K.A. the couch.
- >"How about you take the bed now?"
- >You didn't feel like saying no.
- >"Are you hungry? I can try and make something."
- >You wonder if she can cook.
- "What can you make?"
- >"Not much now that I think about it, I can't really cook very well."
- >You laugh.
- >"Unless you want something simple to make, like a sandwich."
- "Maybe, where is Fluttershy?"
- >Now that you think about it what does Fluttershy do normally?
- >"She's out at the market buying groceries."
- >There is a knock on the door.
- >You open the door to see a mail pony awkwardly standing there.
- >She was a grey mare with a yellow mane.
- >Not to point it out but her eyes aren't quite right.
- >She's holding a bouquet of flowers sideways in her teeth.
- >"You're not Fluttershy."
- >She says dropping the flowers with a frown.
- >"Oops."
- >She seemed a bit clumsy.
- >"These are for her."
- >As you pick them up she smiles and trots away.
- >There's a note on it.
- "Fluttershy, we haven't seen each other in a while. How about tea sometime?
- I'd like to meet your new friends. From Discord."
- >Wonder who that is.
- >You walk over and put them in a vase for Fluttershy.
- >Maybe she told him about you and Sunset being here.
- >"Do you think he's nice?"
- "We'll find out I guess."
- >So now that you were home you had to figure out how to kill time with sunset.
- "When will Fluttershy be back?"
- >"It's been like 20 minutes since she left. So it shouldn't be to long."
- >You would normally listen to music to kill time.
- >Depending on the mood a different song.
- >What kind of song would you listen to right now?
- >Probably something rock or metal right now.
- >To bad anon, no more music for a while.
- >You had to sell some of the devices that were created to record music.
- "What do you like to do in your spare time sunset?"
- >Her cheeks went a little red on the topic of her.
- >"I like to draw."
- >What about that singing she was doing in the shower?
- >It was beautiful.
- >But better not pry on the subject.
- >It didn't seem she wanted to sing.
- "I'm awful at drawing, but I'm sure you can do something. Lets see some."
- >"What should I draw."
- "How about these flowers?"
- >She grabs a piece of paper finds a pencil and starts.
- >Sunset starts drawing away as you take a seat next to her.
- >She's really focused on this now as she doesn't even notice Fluttershy walk in.
- >"I'm home."
- >Angel bounces up to her eye level and starts pointing and making hand signs at you.
- >He must not enjoy you being here.
- >"Oh, Angel it won't be that long. I promise."
- >He bounced away again.
- >"Anon, aren't you supposed to be in the hospital?"
- >She says with a confused look on her face.
- >You walk over to her so you won't disturb Sunset.
- "Yeah, about that. I kind of got let out early."
- >You continue with a weak smile.
- "They said I was in good condition."
- >"That's great news."
- >"What's Sunset doing?"
- "She's drawing those flowers. They're from Discord by the way."
- >"Oh, ok. I guess I can look at them when she's done. Or something."
- "She shouldn't take to long."
- >Fluttershy went to put her groceries away in the kitchen, you decide to help.
- "So how was the market?"
- >You say as you pick up 5 cans of different animal food types.
- >"It was wonderful. They had everything I needed!"
- "That's good."
- >She smiled happily.
- >"Some of the animals favorite foods were on sale!"
- >"Done!"
- >Sunset said as she held the paper up.
- "You're finished?"
- >You walk over as Fluttershy continued putting groceries away.
- >"Yup."
- >She smiles nervously.
- "Well let's see it."
- >When you look at it you see more than just the flowers.
- >You see she drew a bit of the table the flowers and even the window behind the vase.
- >But in the open window she drew something else.
- >There was a sunset that looked beautiful.
- >Well as beautiful as it could look without color.
- "Sunset, this looks great! Can you color it?"
- >"Of course. Fluttershy, do you have colored pencils?"
- >"Yeah, let me find some."
- >She starts fumbling around in a drawer.
- >Then she comes to the table with a small box of colored pencils.
- >Sunset quickly fills in what she drew.
- >When she finishes she sends it up to you with magic.
- >"Here, tell me how bad it is now."
- >she said blowing a strand of hair away from her eye.
- >She had no confidence in her drawing.
- >It was actually pretty good.
- >Looking at it from a non artistic view it was.
- >"Pretty."
- >Fluttershy says from behind you awestruck.
- >The sunset was gorgeous. With really well done shading and coloring.
- >It still paled in comparison to the Sunset in front of you.
- >Fidgeting with her hooves, nervous that you wouldn't like it.
- >"Anon, do you like it? And why are you staring at me like that?"
- >Your cheeks flushed the color red. Redder than an apple.
- >You forgot you were standing in the middle of two pony's who were waiting for your response.
- "I don't understand Sunset, this is really good."
- >You say still blushing.
- >"Is it really?"
- "I'm no artist, but I'd say this is pretty good."
- >"I think this is good too Sunset."
- >You silently thank Fluttershy for her input.
- >"Thanks."
- >Sunset says with a coy smile.
- >"Oh, my it's getting late. Aren't you two getting tired?"
- >Fluttershy asks.
- "Yeah, I guess I could sleep."
- >Even though you slept all day.
- >"I'll take the couch tonight."
- >Sunset said as she walked over and laid down.
- >Angel hopped up and laid on her back.
- >That rabbit truly wanted to anger you now.
- >Him staring daggers at you only proved your point.
- >You walk into your new room and laid down on the bed.
- >Not exactly ready for sleep but it will come eventually.
- >You start to think about your Mom.
- >She did kick you out, but she was trying to help.
- >Maybe you over reacted, But you definitely needed to apologize to Dash.
- >She was always a good friend even if it was in her own way.
- >In between making you watch her try new tricks that were over the top and pulling pranks, she was always there.
- >You REALLY need to apologize.
- >You hoped the two were ok, thinking about it was torturous.
- >Angry at yourself for abolishing your best relationships.
- >You rejected your Mother who was only trying to help.
- >And you yelled at the best friend you had ever known.
- >It made you hate yourself, you only caused pain to those around you.
- >As you think about it your eyes started to get heavy and you stop thinking at all.
- >Sleep overtakes you as your pain subsides.
- >You dream of the days you were little.
- >Dash was teaching you to play a new sport.
- >You eagerly chased her as Mom worried in the background.
- >"Anon be careful!"
- >Mom yelled as you ran to dash.
- >"Alright Nonny, just kick the ball this way."
- >"You probably won't get it past me because I'm awesome, but you can try."
- >You remember this as though it had just happened.
- >As your Mom cheered you on you kicked the ball to the goal and made a shot.
- >Dash jumped at it but came up short.
- >There's no way that wasn't on purpose.
- >She let you win, you smiled as you thought about it.
- >This was something she never did for any pony.
- >In fact you doubt she would ever do it again.
- >It made you happy you were surrounded by such good pony's.
- >There was this feeling that felt amazing somewhere inside you.
- >It was a combination of love and euphoria that disappeared at some point.
- >It left you again as you realized how much you bucked it all up.
- >Your wonderful dream became a nightmare, seeing every pony you cared about in pain.
- >And they were all angry at you, maybe you deserved it.
- >Screaming at you, wanting you to disappear.
- >Everything disappears, you see a fog.
- >Through the thick fog you see a pony with blue fur and a blue mane walk into view.
- >It was a unicorn, who also had wings. An Alicorn, like Mom.
- >"Anon, if thou don't apologize this could become a reality."
- "I know Luna... I'm just afraid it might be too late. What if they hate me?"
- >"Even if they don't accept thou apology they will see you had the heart to swallow your pride and accept you messed up."
- >"And as it is they think YOU hate them."
- "Thanks Luna."
- >"Do not thank me, just talk to them."
- >Luna disappeared as the overwhelming smell of pancakes awoke you from your slumber.
- >Forgot to eat last night.
- >You were starving, your empty belly screaming to be filled.
- >You were too tired to get up but the hunger over powered you.
- >Got to do it.
- >Walking out eyes barely open you see sunset cooking.
- "I thought you couldn't cook?"
- >"I'm not too good at it."
- "These pancakes beg to differ, they look delicious."
- >She smiles as she brings a plate to the table.
- >"For you."
- >You sleepily sit down and try them.
- "These are good!"
- >You exclaim through a mouthful as they instantly wake you up.
- >"Chew then speak, please."
- >She smiled at the compliment regardless.
- "Sorry."
- >"I was thinking."
- >She said looking out the window.
- "Yes?"
- >"I think I might go do some things on my own today."
- "Huh, like what?"
- >"I don't know. I just want to explore and find something to do along the way."
- "Well okay. I got some stuff to take care of today anyway."
- >Like apologize to Dash and your Mother.
- >"Great, I'll leave in another hour or two."
- "Ok, I think I'll get an early start and go in a few minutes."
- >"That sounds good."
- >You finish off your pancakes and head to grab the few clothes you had left.
- >Twilight sent those over separately.
- >You look through the small box Mom sent.
- >Oh great, she sent a bunch of the clothes you hated.
- >You'd rather go with the suit.
- >Actually maybe you could take Dash somewhere nice for breakfast.
- >Maybe a restaurant or something.
- >She would probably just laugh at you though.
- >Maybe that's good though?
- >You try the suit on, still fits.
- >You wore this freshman year to an event.
- >Some kind of dance.
- >You went with...
- >You went with Dash because no one else wanted to go with you.
- >Being the only human makes you kind of weird to pony's.
- >Sometimes you were even ostracized, but she didn't care though.
- >She went as a friend.
- >Probably the best friend you've ever had.
- >As you walk out the front door you say bye to Sunset.
- >She laughs at you for wearing a suit.
- >"I didn't think I'd ever see you in a suit, so soon at least."
- "Do I at least look nice?"
- >"Handsome, but it's not your style."
- "Good enough for me. Bye Sunset."
- >"See yah later."
- >She says still surprised you were actually going out in a suit.
- >First twilight to see if she had a spell or a potion that will let you walk on clouds.
- >You can't just go straight to Dash.
- >On the walk there you see places that spark memories.
- >You see ghosts of yourself reenacting the scenes.
- >The bench you broke your arm on, the park that hid you from bullies, the field your dream took place in.
- >There were many more but approaching the castle shook you from the trance.
- >The door was unlocked.
- >As you entered the main room the stench of alcohol was unbelievable.
- >You followed the stench to the library.
- >It was a mess.
- >And there lied your mother passed out.
- >Buck.
- "Mom?"
- >You shake her a little.
- >"Nonny, not so loud Mommy's got a hangover."
- >She realized it's you.
- >"Nonny!?"
- "Yeah, it's Me Mom."
- >"Why are you here? I thought you hated me..."
- "I wasn't thinking straight. I understand why you did it now."
- >Though you didn't entirely like the method she used.
- >"Really? thank Celestia."
- >She tries to get up but starts to sway and almost falls.
- "Let me help you."
- >"Thanks."
- >You lead her into the main room and sit her on her throne.
- >"I assume you didn't get all dressed up just to see your drunk Mom."
- "Well, I have to go see Rainbow Dash. I kind of over reacted and yelled at her."
- "She's upset and I need to talk to her."
- >"And you need a way to walk on clouds?"
- >She did that quite often, she could tell you needed something without you asking.
- "Yeah. But I want to apologize to you first."
- "I was angry because I felt like you were just abandoning me."
- >"Nonny, I could never abandon you. You mean everything to me."
- >"I only want you to be able to live on your own."
- >You wrap your arms around her in a hug. You feel a tear land on your neck.
- >"Now about that cloud problem your having."
- >She moves on to avoid crying.
- >"We can go with a potion or a spell."
- >She gets up slowly trying not to fall.
- >She slowly sauntered into the library and starts looking through books.
- >Following her you see the room is a mess.
- >Books scattered all over the floor.
- >Better not to ask why.
- >As she sorts through the books she puts each one back into place on the correct shelf.
- >The amount of books she can pick up with her magic is amazing.
- >At least 20-30 books at a time.
- >She takes one glance then sends it off to its spot on a shelf.
- >You aren't entirely sure if she is putting them in the correct places, but she seems to know what she is doing.
- >"Ah ha! Found it."
- "What is it?"
- >"It's a book for potions and spells on cloud walking."
- >She has books for everything doesn't she?
- >You wonder if there's a book on where you came from.
- >Maybe, but you weren't even sure you wanted to know.
- >What if your real parents hated you or something, didn't want you or something.
- >You knew there was no way you came from a horse.
- >You shrug the questions away and walk over to twilight who was skimming through the book.
- >"Which do you prefer?"
- "What?"
- >"Spell or potion?"
- >She sometimes doesn't realize you have no clue what she is talking about.
- "Which one is faster?"
- >"A spell since I won't need to find ingredients."
- "Spell it is."
- >"This will still need time for me to practice, Come back in an hour."
- "An hour?!"
- >you didn't have time to be waiting.
- >"I'm sorry Nonny, this is the fastest it can be ready."
- >She said this sincerely, understanding that you wanted to talk to dash.
- "I guess I'll be back in an hour."
- >There has to be another way to do this, but how?
- >You exit the castle without giving her a chance to answer and walk back towards Fluttershy's house.
- >Well this is depressing.
- >If you didn't act fast you could lose your friend forever.
- >You pass by Fluttershy on your way to her house.
- >"Anon? What's wrong?"
- "I don't want to talk about it."
- >"Are you sure? You can tell me Anything."
- "I need to talk to Dash. But I can't get to her house. And I doubt she would come down here to talk to me now."
- >"I bet I can help you, I can fly to her house and get her to come down."
- >She was always so helpful, you wish you could be so kind.
- "You can try."
- >"I'll be right back."
- >She flies off towards dash's house.
- >To your surprise she comes back 10 minutes later with Dash.
- >She immediately starts dying with laughter.
- >She now has tears of joyous ecstasy streaming from her eyes.
- >"You-you look like you came to ask me out Nonny!"
- >You don't move or flinch.
- "Actually, I was hoping you would go out to eat with me."
- >She laughs even harder until she realizes your serious.
- >Her expression changes, you can't entirely read it.
- >She looked confused and flustered.
- >"Wait r-really?"
- "Dead serious."
- >This is stupid, of course she'll say no.
- >"I don't think I want to go with you, sorry."
- >Expected response.
- >She starts to fly away.
- "Wait!"
- >She continues to fly.
- "This is my fault, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry I yelled at you!"
- >Still trying to control your tears you continue.
- "I don't care if you ever forgive me! I don't deserve it!"
- >You gave up trying not to cry somewhere, bawling, barely able to get the words out.
- "How can someone like me, some weird thing from another universe deserve a friend like you?"
- >She stopped as if your words hurt her, like you'd just insulted her.
- >"I never thought of you as weird, I never could."
- >"Because inside you were just like every pony else."
- >"But something changed, you became different."
- >These words stung the most, leaving a painful scar you wouldn't soon forget.
- >You had become a monster, truly something weird.
- >Leaving destruction where you walked.
- >"But I need some time away from you. Someday I might be ready to be friends again, but for now..."
- >She trails off.
- >"I have to go."
- >With that she flew away and was gone.
- >You stood there, not knowing how to feel.
- >Not knowing WHAT to feel.
- >You lost her, she despises you now.
- >It's all over now Anon, you lost the one friend who never cared what you were from the start.
- >Every pony else saw some weird alien, she saw a lonely creature.
- >You became what every pony saw.
- >Something you didn't want to be.
- >Anon, you can sulk later, you had some pony else to hurt elsewhere.
- >You only seemed to hurt them no matter what you try to do.
- >Better go tell Mom you won't need that spell anymore.
- You are Sunset.
- >Anon would be gone for a while.
- >What should you do?
- >You grab a few of the bits you and Anon set aside.
- >About enough for lunch and some left over for whatever you decided to do.
- >You step outside.
- >you don't know where you plan on going and you don't care.
- >The soft wind felt great going through your mane.
- >It was nice outside, sunny day with a calm and peaceful breeze.
- >Walking through ponyville was nice.
- >You always used to hate walking through here.
- >You always got weird looks because you were dirty and always begging.
- >Most of the looks were of pity, some actually had anger in their eyes.
- >Never meeting eye contact with any pony was a rule for you.
- >Except when you were begging.
- >That's when you give them puppy eyes.
- >Though even most of the rich ponies still refused to give you money.
- >"You'll just use it for drugs."
- >They always said with disgust in their tone.
- >You never even went near drugs.
- >Even if you did them you could've never afforded them.
- >You feel queasy even thinking about those ponies.
- >As you walk, now in less of a happy mood thanks to memories that you had.
- >You pass by the alley in between two large buildings you once lived in.
- >Just across the street was your parents house.
- >A large yellow house that was old but in good condition.
- >A large tree outside overlooking the house.
- >The tree stood at least 50 feet tall.
- >You always stayed nearby in case they would let you back in one day.
- >They never did, not for the month you were left on your own.
- >Then Anon found you...
- >You were tearing up.
- >He saved you from the hell of this alley.
- >The hell of being all alone in the world.
- >Your thoughts were interrupted by a filly tapping your right shoulder with her hoof.
- >"E-excuse me miss, do you have a few spare bits I can have?"
- >She began with sadness and sorrow in her voice.
- >"I-I'm sorry if I was bothering you. You seem to be upset."
- >She was stuttering a bit, you guess she is a bit new to this.
- >She was a charcoal grey unicorn with a brick red mane.
- >Her mane was dirty and not brushed, but she didn't seem the type to care too much.
- "No, I'm fine I just used to live in this alley."
- >"Really?"
- >She said with a gleam of hope in her beautiful ember orange eyes.
- >Hope that she too would escape this hell.
- "Yeah, I was saved by some pony."
- >The fire in this fillies eyes could melt glaciers.
- >This flame seemed geared towards her survival.
- >She didn't want to die out here, all alone.
- >Neither did you.
- >It melted your heart.
- >You come to the conclusion to give her those bits that were for your lunch.
- >If you went a month barely eating enough to survive you could skip lunch today.
- "Here, take them. You can at least buy a something to eat for today."
- >Her eyes lit up like fireworks.
- >Those little fiery eyes smoldered into a bonfire, the ones that reached 10 feet tall.
- >"Thank you!"
- >She yelled it now bowing, head laying on your hooves.
- >This filly was worshipping you now, barely containing her emotions.
- "I need to find you a place to stay, and please don't bow for me."
- >"No, Don't go that far for me. I'm not worth I-"
- "NO."
- >You argue with a stern tone to your voice.
- "Don't ever say you're not worth it."
- >You keep going.
- "I don't ever want to hear that lie from you!"
- >You couldn't stand hearing her talk like that.
- >"But even my parents thought that way about me."
- >She responded with a mix of anger and sadness.
- >"They only kept me till I could last on my own."
- >"They didn't even do that because they cared even just little..."
- >You listened in horror.
- >She was the same, her parents just threw her out.
- >She was unwanted just like you.
- >Your parents just put up with you longer.
- "No more."
- >You cry out tears flowing down your face.
- "You're coming with me now."
- >Sobbing now you put her on your back with magic.
- >She didn't fight it out of surprise.
- >You figure better to take her to Fluttershy's.
- >You doubt she'll be ecstatic about a third guest.
- >But how could she leave such a poor little filly outside all alone.
- >Her weakness? She couldn't. She wouldn't.
- >If need be you would gladly let her take your place.
- "Oh, what's your name?"
- >You question as you wipe tears from your eyes not wanting to forget to ask.
- >"Flame tender. Just call me Kindle though."
- "Why Kindle?"
- >You ask sincerely.
- >"It's what my parents used to call me..."
- "I'm sorry."
- >"Why are you sorry? You didn't make my parents kick me out, I did."
- >This filly actually thought it was her fault, like you did.
- "It's not your fault it's your parents fault, blame them.
- >"But I want to believe they had a reason, a problem that only me leaving could fix."
- >"Even if it's naive, I want to believe that they couldn't keep me."
- "Then believe it, let those thoughts be what keep you going."
- "But don't let it surprise you if it's not true, be ready for either outcome."
- >"Thanks, I wasn't even sure how much longer I could go on."
- >You take Kindle back to Fluttershy's house.
- >As you walk up to the house she hops off your back.
- >She walks to the right side of the house and starts putting rocks into a circle with sticks in the middle.
- "What are you doing?"
- >"Making a fire pit."
- >She says with a smile.
- "It's not safe to just start a fire."
- >As you say this a light resembling a fire came from her horn.
- >A fire sparks in the pit, and grew in size until it was as tall as you.
- >She starts tending to the fire immediately.
- >"Oh, well I guess your name fits."
- >"I've been around fire my whole life."
- >"I love fire, the flames melt my problems away just staring into them."
- >"It puts me into a trance gazing into the beautiful flames as they burn."
- >"I forget I'm homeless and that my parents hated me."
- "That's good, you have something to block out all the bad things."
- >"I figured out I was good at fire spells when I burned down my school."
- >"Then I just always had a fire near by, so peaceful yet strong."
- >She was a little pyro wasn't she?
- "Just don't burn down Fluttershy's house."
- >You say laughing.
- >"I can control the spells now."
- >She replies with a smile.
- >She lays down and closes her eyes.
- >As her breathing slows and her smile retreats you notice her falling asleep.
- >When she is fully asleep the fire starts to die down.
- >It becomes stagnant as a small flame, enough to keep her warm.
- >You decide to leave her and continue to find something to do.
- >She does have Fluttershy inside.
- >You pass by a stage as a griffon is singing a song.
- >Trot with me through the autumn leaves
- >And keep close to stay warm
- >Soon you'll see how much you mean to me
- >Feelings I've never felt before.
- >It was beautiful, you listen as your pain disappears.
- >For a few minutes you were in a dream where everything was alright.
- >No pain to feel, no pity or sympathy.
- >Pure bliss, you felt as light as a cloud.
- >Then the song ended and you crashed.
- >It was good while it lasted.
- >You start to trot away, spirits lifted now.
- >It seems as though a festival had started in ponyville.
- >You are as oblivious as the writer is as to what this event is.
- >Well I guess lets get in their and start doing something.
- >Carnival games were fun except when flim and flam ran them.
- >They couldn't make one honest dollar could they?
- >"Five bits for 3 balls and if you knock over these bottles-"
- >"The ones right here-"
- >His brother intervenes.
- >"The ones right there, you get a stuffed animal or you can risk three more balls and if you make it you get your bits back as well."
- >The first brother finished.
- >You couldn't be bothered to tell them apart.
- >"One catch."
- >Says the one with a mustache as his brother smiles an evil grin.
- >Of course.
- >"No magic, and no wings."
- "I can't even throw with my hooves, come on."
- >"Sorry m'lady, it's just the rules."
- >They knew they'd won.
- >You put your bits on the counter determined to win.
- >Then you knock all of them down using all three balls.
- >You thought you maybe saw a bit of an aura around the ball but you hit it.
- >Dismissing it you claim your prize.
- >"Here's your prize, unless you want your bits back.
- "I want to try."
- >Where did this come from? Baka!
- >"Excellent choice if I do say so myself."
- >"I agree with you brother!"
- >Throwing the first ball you graze one shaking the bottles a little bit.
- >The next ball you threw straight at the bottles.
- >As it was about to hit it lost almost all velocity.
- "What in equestria was that?
- >"Oh, so close."
- >"I thought it was going to hit!"
- >The last and final ball.
- >You threw it with all your strength.
- >Again it lost it's kinetic energy and just dropped.
- >Disheartened you look at the ground in shame.
- >"Cheater!"
- >A familiar voice called out.
- >You turn around to see Fluttershy, very angry might I add.
- >"I saw that magic mister! You give back her money!"
- >Appalled that they were being accused they both said.
- >"We didn't cheat, what could WE have done to cheat!?"
- >"Stop lying! You're making me angry!"
- >"Please calm down miss, there's a misunderstanding here!"
- >One said a bit frantic now.
- >"Don't make me use... The-STARE!"
- >They both laughed at that remark as every pony in the crowd that gathered gasped in horror.
- >"WHAT, could this stare possibly do to hurt us?!
- >Fluttershy jumped on the counter and started staring away.
- >They stared back with real horror in their eyes now.
- >This stare was this affective?
- >"I see your stare has improved eh, Fluttershy?"
- >A voice came from behind you that made your body stiffen and your face turn red.
- >Awaking to the sound of birds chirping you continue to lay on the ground.
- >It wasn't comfortable, but you weren't ready to get up.
- >It was still early, Celestia hadn't even raised the sun fully yet.
- >The fire had been put out, Sunset and Flame weren't there anymore.
- >Must have gotten an early start.
- >As you sit up, still not wanting to move from bed you think about what there is to do for the day.
- >Things were pretty boring these days in ponyville.
- >There weren't any villains to put the world in danger these days.
- >Discord seemed to be reformed for the most part.
- >Every story he told ended up becoming a theatrical performance though, with popcorn and stuff.
- >Laying back you start humming a song under your breath as the words to the song played in your head.
- >The tempo slows as your eyes become heavy and time seems to slow.
- >You jump realizing you're falling asleep.
- >Not today anon, there were better ways to spend the morning.
- >You struggle to your feet half asleep still.
- >You check inside for your friends, in case they just went inside.
- The filly, "Flame was it?" Was sitting on Fluttershy's couch sleepily looking up at you.
- >"Yeah" she croaked out eyes barely open with lines of exhaustion around them.
- "Sorry I woke you up, you can go back to sleep.
- >Without responding her eyes close again and she slips back into her sleep.
- >You rummage through the fridge to find something to eat.
- >You settle with some instant ramen.
- >Easy to make and filling, what could possibly go wrong?
- >That statement was a dumb one to make.
- >Immediately drinking some of the soup you burn your tongue.
- >Stupid!
- >You take your shower, though it still felt weird in someone else's home.
- >As you exit the shower you see yourself in the mirror, staring back can't possibly be the same anon from several years ago.
- >That anon hated ponies and just wanted to be alone.
- >You hope that anon was dead, buried and forgotten.
- >But he can't be Forgotten, he is a part of you.
- >Probably sick at how much you've changed.
- >Now you were letting ponies back into your life, you just hoped RD would see that you changed in time.
- >At first you only helped sunset out of pity and sympathy, but it became empathy, and the feeling she gave you inside your heart infected you like a virus.
- >You smile walking away, the happiest you've been in a long time.
- >Hoping that feeling was real and would stay you keep them in mind.
- >Though you knew the old you still loomed over you like a shadow, ready to pounce like a hunting animal the second your mind is shrouded in pain and darkness.
- >One day you would change him too, he would be as happy as the rest of him was.
- >You get dressed letting the thoughts swim around in your head freely.
- >You don't want them to leave, they kept you in check.
- >In between giving up and being confident.
