Anita gets her grief because that is the only way she remains relevant, her work is never critically analyzed in the media, you will notice that its just thousands of articles and media pieces on her victimhood, and this has gone on for over 3 years now, which is kind of strange if she had anything of value to say. Instead she deliberately creates a pressure cooker situation where all comments are blocked, and criticism is deliberately never acknowledged, instead she receives media coverage on par with the “dear leader” in North Korea, pure propaganda which protects her facade of intellectual credibility, which is so fragile, that the defense must be vicious, which is why her opponents have been tarred the way they have been. There are literally a hundred million gamers in the US alone, so when she tries this hard, what does she actually receive? When people take her press releases and figure out the reality, her “mean tweets” only make up less than 1% of her total tweet volume, but she deliberately misrepresents this as if she’s received a flood of hate. And to claim that this is because she’s a woman is again, disingenuous, anyone who makes themselves a public figure, even Justin Beiber will generate troll comment responses. But she deliberately feeds off this to make herself relevant, because her work alone simply does not merit it.
