[14:41] <DMovoi> Now that Charles has decided to bail back to camp, Ivan continues out towards the southwest, looking for a narrower pass over the river.
[14:41] <DMovoi> Since Cait is afraid to fly over.
[14:42] <KamenWriter> Alright
[14:43] <KamenWriter> So you go southwest to begin at the fishing shack and then travel north up the river to search?
[14:43] <DMovoi> Yes, let's do exactly that.
[14:45] <KamenWriter> Alright, so you travel north along the river. There's not really any need to stealth check because for most of the trip, you appear to be in the relatively safe western forest you found Charlie in.
[14:47] <DMovoi> Ivan makes a mental note about the western forest. Perhaps there isn't a general this direction after all.
[14:49] <KamenWriter> You travel for a little while up the river and it's fairly uninteresting... except of course for the wild water that unnaturally courses through the river.
[14:49] <KamenWriter> The river doesn't really get any thinner as you go along.
[14:50] <KamenWriter> But then, something strange happens
[14:51] <KamenWriter> You realize that the river is beginning to taper to a point, and that the edge of the river is getting closer and closer
[14:51] <KamenWriter> However, it doesn't look right
[14:52] <KamenWriter> For one thing, you notice that the river has begun flowing in two directions. The right bank that you're on continues to flow north-south, but the left bank that you can see getting closer with every step you take, appears to be flowing south-north.
[14:53] <KamenWriter> The two flows appear unrelated to one another and it causes you to be uneasy.
[14:53] <DMovoi> Are the two currents flowing towards or from a central point?
[14:54] <KamenWriter> Well, if you look ahead, you can see that the river appears to become thinner and thinner, unnaturally so.
[14:55] <KamenWriter> If there is a central point it's going to be a little further to the north
[14:55] <DMovoi> Ivan starts to head north, trying to keep on the edge of the woods so nothing in the river can catch sight of him.
[14:55] <KamenWriter> Okay
[14:56] <KamenWriter> You're not sure if that's an issue anymore. As you travel, the river eventually becomes thin enough to jump across, and then thin enough to step across...
[14:57] <KamenWriter> Eventually it indeed comes to an unnaturally sharp point.
[14:58] <KamenWriter> However, the two flows are still somewhat mismatched here. The south-north flow seems to continue to flow north south, as if there was more river, and the north-south flow continues the same way. They don't flow into one another at all.
[14:58] <KamenWriter> It's like they're completely different rivers. You are standing at the tip of the river. You can step across if you like.
[14:59] <DMovoi> "Two separate rings, zhen. Like moat."
[15:00] <DMovoi> Ivan searchs for a rock to throw across the narrow point first.
[15:01] <KamenWriter> You find one
[15:01] <DMovoi> He tosses it over the narrow point and waits for any response.
[15:02] <KamenWriter> You toss the rock. You're facinated to find that the rock appears to pause in the air for a split second, almost as if it hit something, but then a moment later breaks through and lands on the other side without incident.
[15:02] <DMovoi> "Zhat is...curious."
[15:03] <KamenWriter> You can't see anything for the rock to hit, only the two mismatched halves of the river.
[15:04] <KamenWriter> You do notice that the rock stopped once it hit the point where the two halves touched
[15:04] <KamenWriter> What do?
[15:05] <DMovoi> Ivan steps out of hiding and approaches the rivers, then reaches out to touch the point where the rock stopped with his hand.
[15:06] <KamenWriter> You reach out and, indeed, the air has some resistance to it. It's not much, though.
[15:06] <KamenWriter> You hand goes easily through whatever barrier there is, and you don't feel any worse for wear
[15:07] <DMovoi> "Hmmm. Is not border of game...no trap from general yet. But can cross here." He takes a look at the sun and the trees so he can mark where he is and find his way back.
[15:07] <KamenWriter> Alright
[15:08] <KamenWriter> Perception check

[15:10] <KamenWriter> They don't match up with where the sun is in the sky
[15:10] <KamenWriter> As if the trees are in a different place where the sun is in a different position
[15:11] <DMovoi> Ivan squints at the other side of the river. "Is...mirror? Changed space?" He considers crossing over himself, but then he'd be no better than Karsten and Cait.
[15:12] <KamenWriter> It's not a mirror. The two halves aren't identical
[15:12] <DMovoi> So, he nods to himself and makes his way back towards camp.
[15:12] <KamenWriter> Alright. Ivan decides to be smart but boring and leaves the river for another day.
[15:13] <KamenWriter> And by this time Elsa will have returned and I'll let her tell you about what happened to Rudiger.
