  1. 01[20:04] <zoofman> It's another glorious day in Pochkinok! Currently it's still morning, and the lot of you are still going through your morning routines.
  2. 06[20:05] * Dmitri paces back and forth in front of his lined up Pokemon, waxing on about the virtues of his command, and how they would find true glory in their willingness to fight.

  4. 01[20:08] <zoofman> Be that P.T. at the drillfield, milling about the messhall, or snoozing in your barracks, whatever the case, around 9 AM you all hear a shrill screech of an alarm sound near the center of the small snowy town!
  5. 06[20:09] * Dmitri grumbles at the indignity of being interrupted by alarm, and routinely returns his Pokemon to their respective Poke balls.
  6. 06[20:10] * Stali shines up his new armor that he made himself, the GLORY of Sinnish metal and grit!
  7. 06[20:10] * Maksim tumbles out of his bunk with a yelp and then flails into his clothes.
  8. [20:12] <Stali> "Oh? Time to see what alarm is." Stali quickly dons his armor (and by quickly I mean... uh...) and gets over there. When he finishes putting that darned thing on.
  9. 03[20:12] * Ryuu is now known as Anatoly
  10. 01[20:13] <zoofman> As you approach the source of the alarm, you notice a bit of a crowd forming around the entrance to a building you recognize as pastry factory of this town. Not in formation or anything, just bystanders. A bunch of Krabbies included.
  11. [20:14] <Dmitri> Scowling, Dmitri throws on his scarf and approaches the commotion.
  12. 06[20:14] * @Anatoly had been attending to his pokemon to make sure they are in good health when he heard the alarm. Recalling them to their balls, he proceeds to investigate the cause for alarm.
  13. 01[20:14] <zoofman> Near the entrance is a Commissar facing the door and tapping his foot impaitently, checking his pocket watch every now and then.
  14. 06[20:16] * Dmitri approaches quickly, raising an arm to hail the man, "And what seems to be the trouble today?"
  15. 01[20:17] <zoofman> "Bah, it has been an fifteen minutes since the alarm started, and an hour since they went in! Someone cut the power!" he says as he twirls around to face the crowd.
  16. 06[20:17] * Stali finally gets his armor on and quickly walks to the door.
  17. [20:17] <Maksim> Still struggling to get his jacket fully buttoned, Maksim slows to a halt and looks over at the Krabbies.
  18. [20:18] <Maksim> "What's happening, Commissar?"
  19. 01[20:18] <zoofman> "The problem? If I knew the problem we wouldn't have one! But one of you comrads, cut the power line to this factory at once!"
  20. 01[20:19] <zoofman> The krabbies have little chef hats on, and oven mitts over their claws. "Cookie cookie."
  21. 06[20:19] * @Anatoly stood at attention as he joined the people gathering before the commissar, noticing the krabbies present in their midst.
  22. 06[20:20] * Dmitri barely contains the smile threatening to creep up his face, sliding his scarf up to his mouth to accommodate himself. "It is truly a pity."
  23. 01[20:21] <zoofman> Far as any of you can tell it's just a simple power line coming down from a pole. They even got a ladder standing by incase this was needed.
  24. [20:22] <Maksim> "Wouldn't cutting it be...dangerous?"
  25. 06[20:22] * Stali crouches down and pets the Krabbies. "Need us to go up?"
  26. 01[20:23] <zoofman> The krabbies nod, and pinch their oven mits. "Cookie."
  27. 01[20:23] <zoofman> "Late during last night glorious Comrad pastry chef krabbies were ousted from their factory. We know not why, as Comrads we sent to investigate have not returned!" says the Commissar
  28. [20:24] <Stali> "..." Stali looks up the pole. "Must get used to moving with steel attached." Stali attempts to climb up!
  29. [20:24] <@Anatoly> "I don't think he literally meant to cut it. Just pull the plug so that it stops flowing power." Anatoly said as he looks up the power line, seeing if there is any way to deal with it. He also lets his geodude, Petrom out.
  30. [20:25] <Maksim> "We could just ask the Krabby. Well, I mean, I could."
  31. 06[20:25] * Stali goes up the ladder, actually. Because, well, it's right there.
  32. [20:25] <@Anatoly> "Petrom, see if you can pull the wire off, or if it really needs to be cut," Anatoly said to his geodude and pointing to the dangling power line.
  33. 01[20:25] <zoofman> "Well, yes, Comrad Anatoly is correct. Though physically cutting it would work as well!"
  34. 01[20:26] <zoofman> Let's have some technology checks!
  35. 06[20:26] * Dmitri bends down to eye level with the water Pokemon. "Did you get a look at the men who ousted you from your factory?"

  37. [20:26] <DiceMaid-9001> Stali, TECH: 8 [2d10=1,7]
  38. 01[20:26] <zoofman> The krabbies shake their heads.
  39. [20:27] <@Anatoly> 2d10 tech

  41. [20:27] <Maksim> "Ah, well, I guess not."
  42. [20:29] <Dmitri> "S-Commisar. If you would allow me a look inside the factory, I may be able to make heads or tails of the situation."
  43. 01[20:29] <zoofman> Yeah neither of you has a damn clue how you'd 'unhook' it without just cutting the wiring.
  44. 01[20:30] <zoofman> "Alone? Pht! Not a chance, Comrad. The last batch of men I sent in are still in there! If some of your friends are also willing to enlist their support, however..."
  45. [20:31] <Maksim> "Of course, that's what we're here for."
  46. [20:31] <Stali> "...Clippers! Hand clippers!"
  47. 06[20:31] * Dmitri gestures to the others, "As you can see they are as....eager as I am."
  48. 01[20:32] <zoofman> Some rando comrad in the crowd holds up a large one to you, SToli. "These sheers should work, ya?"
  49. 01[20:32] <zoofman> Stali, even.
  50. [20:33] <@Anatoly> "Be sure you are properly insulated before you cut it, Comrad Stali! Wouldn't want to get shocked now!" Anatoly warned his comrade. His geodude is keeping Stali company, ready to assist if need be.
  51. 01[20:33] <zoofman> Well, the sheers have wood handles with rubberized grips.
  52. [20:33] <Stali> "Ya." Stali clips at the part of the wire closest to the pole.
  53. 01[20:34] <zoofman> The Comissar looks over you, and steps aside. "Very well. Though I wanted the power cut incase the cooking equiptment overheated and started a fire! Especially with our comrads inside."
  54. [20:35] <Dmitri> "My Arturia is more than capable of dealing with any accidental fires."
  55. [20:35] <Dmitri> "Your concerns are unwarranted."
  56. 06[20:35] * Stali climbs down with the shears and hands them back, already doing the deed.
  57. 01[20:36] <zoofman> "Hm! The last man to enter said similar! But very well, and godspeed, men. I shall give you an hour to report your findings."
  58. [20:38] <@Anatoly> "It appears we have more work to complete," Anatoly said as he recalls Petrom back to his ball after the wire was clipped, "It is best we stay cautious."
  59. 06[20:38] * Dmitri releases both Eligor and Arturia, picking up the female water Pokemon by the arms and holding her in his arms, patting the large rock type on the side.
  60. [20:38] <Stali> "Right. Go!" Stali sends out Prome, before waiting for the others. "Ready?"
  61. 06[20:38] * Maksim opens a pokeball and releases a Spheal at his feet.
  62. 06[20:38] * @Anatoly calls Peredach out for now.
  63. [20:38] <Maksim> "I believe so."
  64. [20:39] <@Anatoly> "I am ready to assist."

  67. 01[20:41] <zoofman> The heavy, wooden doors in lead into a long hallway down the length of the factory. It's dark enough you can't actually see a section of the walkway down the middle, but windows on the opposite side illuminate the far wall.
  68. [20:43] <@Anatoly> "Let us take caution while proceeding, comrades." Anatoly motions for Peredach to take the lead, following right behind the Klink to offer support.
  69. 01[20:43] <zoofman> There are four doors in this hallway, far as you can tell. Two on your left, two on your right. There's an odd coldness in the air for a giant bakery to have, and the concrete flooring almost chills right through your boots.
  70. 06[20:43] * Maksim reaches down to touch the Spheal on the forehead and begins Channeling him.
  71. [20:44] <Maksim> "Of course, we're right behind you. Just pick a door."
  72. [20:44] <Dmitri> "Eligor, can you pick up a scent?"
  73. 01[20:44] <zoofman> Roll tracker
  74. 01[20:45] <zoofman> The rhyhorn looks around in the dark a little...sniffs a few times.
  75. 01[20:46] <zoofman> It looks to the door immediately to your right, let's call it door #1, and approaches it slowly, sniffing every now and then.
  76. 06[20:46] * Stali follows the Rhyhorn, then.
  77. [20:46] <Dmitri> With complete faith in Eligor's abilities, Dmitri follows in at the rhyhorn's side.
  78. 06[20:46] * @Anatoly approached the door carefully, opening the door and giving it a light push to see if it opens all the way.
  79. 01[20:48] <zoofman> Inside door #1, you find a long, large room that could very well encompass the entire side of this building! The daylight seeping in makes it clear this is a storeroom, with row after row of flour, baking goods, sweets and jelly fillings!
  80. 06[20:48] * Dmitri searches for anything in particular or any disturbances with the supplies.
  81. 01[20:49] <zoofman> Chocolate, hard candies, gummy candies, jams, creams, god it's a friggen candyland in here.

  91. 01[20:54] <zoofman> After a few moments of poking around, you all find a large number of little green creatures with colorful hands moving boxes and crates and canisters around in a very chaotic fashion.

  93. [20:55] <@Anatoly> "If they are, what would they be helping with?"
  94. [20:55] <Dmitri> "Why would they still be here if the krabbies had to leave?"
  95. 01[20:56] <zoofman> A few walk by you, carrying some out into the hallway. Anyone who got over a 14 realizes they are Roselias!

  98. [20:57] <Dmitri> "Cleaning does not typically involve the rearrangement of goods."
  99. [20:57] <Maksim> "They're moving this stuff somewhere else. Let's follow."
  100. [20:57] <Dmitri> "I will get down to the bottom of this."
  101. [20:58] <Stali> "..." Stali thinks. Has he been doing it wrong all this time? Okay, from now on, don't put extra scraps in the extra scrap section, and don't put trash in the trash can! Wait, something is wrong with that. And that face. THAT FACE.
  102. 06[20:58] * Dmitri follows after the grass Pokemon with the intent of following them back to wherever they were bringing the goods.
  103. 06[20:58] * Stali follows the Roselia with the FACE.
  104. 06[20:58] * @Anatoly nods and follows, not quite sure what to put with that face expressed by these pokemon.
  105. 01[20:58] <zoofman> Well, one last round of perceptions as you turn to leave the storeroom

  115. 01[21:00] <zoofman> Stali, Maksim, as you turn around something catches the corner of your eyes that's out of place here.
  116. 06[21:00] * Stali turns back. What could that be?
  117. 01[21:01] <zoofman> The room itself is rather orderly, with everything tucked away tightly and sealed. Except...one large cannister near the rear of the room seems to have been ripped open, and it's contents are leaking onto the concrete.
  118. [21:01] <@Anatoly> "Is something wrong, comrade?" Anatoly asks, noticing Stali turning back.
  119. [21:01] <Maksim> "Yes, this doesn't look quite right."
  120. [21:01] <Stali> "..."
  121. 06[21:01] * Maksim approaches the cannister and stoops down to look at whatever's spilling out of it.
  122. 06[21:02] * Stali walks towards the crate. Huh, how come he didn't notice that before?
  123. 06[21:02] * Dmitri turns to the halting party members, "What is the matter?"
  124. [21:02] <Maksim> "Those Roselia are just moving things around, but this is the only thing broken in here."
  125. 01[21:03] <zoofman> In the dark it's sort of hard to tell exactly but it sort of smells like gummi candy. Also sticky, too, given the Roselias who plod through it absentmindedly start making scratchy noises as they march onward.
  126. [21:03] <Dmitri> "Can we get a light?"
  127. [21:03] <@Anatoly> "And what could this be...?" Anatoly asks, pointing at the stuff that the roselias are walking over.
  128. [21:05] <@Anatoly> "Peredach, charge!"
  129. 01[21:06] <zoofman> The electric surge illuminates it enough to make it look like the top of the cannister, which is about three feet tall, was ripped off haphazardly, and then much of its contents scooped into a bucket or something in a sloppy fashion.
  130. 06[21:07] * Stali follows the bucket trail, then! Well, if he can find where it's going in the dark.
  131. 01[21:08] <zoofman> Nothing else really stands out about it. No footprints or trail or anything. It mostly looks like it was just a sloppy job of scooping it out.
  132. [21:08] <Stali> "..."
  133. [21:09] <Maksim> "Someone stealing gummy gel?"
  134. 06[21:09] * Stali wonders what could have caused it, before lookoing to see if the Roselia who was moving is still within sight.
  135. 01[21:10] <zoofman> There are plenty of Roselias filing in and out of the room, picking up boxes or bringing them back
  136. [21:10] <Dmitri> "Eligor, can you pick up the trail?"
  137. 06[21:10] * Stali follows one of them intently. Maybe they know.
  138. [21:10] <@Anatoly> "Why steal this?" Anatoly wondered as he looked around for more clues related to the gummy gel.
  139. 06[21:10] * Dmitri points to the cannister and pats the rhyhorn's side.
  140. [21:11] <Dmitri> 2d10+1 Track?
  141. [21:11] <DiceMaid-9001> Dmitri, Track?: 16 [2d10=9,6]
  142. [21:11] <Dmitri> Woops

  145. 06[21:11] * Maksim shrugs. "Who knows? Hungry thieves?"
  146. 01[21:12] <zoofman> The rhyhorn nods, and plods back toward the door out to the hallway.
  147. [21:12] <@Anatoly> "Capitalists?"
  148. [21:13] <Maksim> "Not very good ones."
  149. 06[21:14] * Dmitri follows after his Pokemon, "You are free to follow. But I suggest somebody goes with the Roselias."
  150. 06[21:14] * Stali is following the Roselias.
  151. [21:14] <@Anatoly> "All right, I'll keep an eye of them with comrade Stali."
  152. 01[21:15] <zoofman> The Roselias seem to be going into the door right across from the storeroom, let's call it door #2.
  153. 01[21:15] <zoofman> Eligor is heading down the hallway to doors #3 and #4
  154. 06[21:16] * Stali heads to door #2 then!
  155. [21:16] <Dmitri> "Which door?"
  156. [21:16] <@Anatoly> "What is in this room then?" Anatoly asked as he follows behind Stali to investigate door #2.
  157. 01[21:18] <zoofman> Anyone going into door #2 immediately hears the sound of rotaries as you enter. All around you are several large machines that seem to be purposed for mixing flour into dough. All operational and running. The Roselias seem to be dropping off bags of sugar and flour on a table before leaving back for the storeroom.
  158. 01[21:19] <zoofman> Anyone following Eligor notices he seems to get confused when he actually reaches doors #3 and #4. He looks between them, and seems to scrunch his face like he ate something sour when he looks to door #4.
  159. [21:20] <Dmitri> "Is there trouble behind door 4?"
  160. [21:20] <Stali> "Huh. Why make something?" Stali goes to examine FOOD BEING MADE.
  161. 01[21:20] <zoofman> The rhyhorn seems to laugh. Roll perception, Dmitri.

  164. 01[21:21] <zoofman> You notice a sign on the door, it's a unisex bathroom.
  165. [21:21] <@Anatoly> "That explains a lot then." Anatoly said as he observed the machines, then looking around the room to see if he noticed anything else.

  169. 01[21:22] <zoofman> As you guys approach that table in room #2, you notice a Pikachu hop out from behind a machine and grab a bag of flour! Oh hey they are everywhere here. http://i.imgur.com/1WuAC.png
  170. 06[21:22] * Stali just realized something. Didn't we cut the power cord?
  171. 06[21:23] * Maksim rolls his eyes and goes to open door number 4.
  172. [21:23] <Stali> THE FACE. AGAIN. Stali looks a bit annoyed, with all the FACES, but he looks around, wondering how it was being pow- oh, right, Pikachus. Electric.
  173. [21:23] <Dmitri> Curiously, Dmitri opens the door #4.
  174. 01[21:24] <zoofman> Dmitri, you get the sense he's lost the trail, either due to more dominant scents in the area, a splitting of directions, or both
  175. [21:24] <Maksim> "We may as well open them all. Find lost comrades."
  176. 06[21:24] * @Anatoly was startled for a moment when he saw the Pikachu appear, but quickly regained calm. Again the same face as the roselias have - is there a reason they have the same face?
  177. [21:24] <Dmitri> "You may be right. Though I do not imagine there will be much of a trail in a washroom."
  178. [21:25] <@Anatoly> "There is something about their faces that are out of place, comrade Stali..." Anatoly said as he called Petrom out.
  179. 01[21:25] <zoofman> That's fairly correct, Stali, as the Pikachus appear to be powering the machines here. A few are loading up finished vats of dough and leading them to a door on the far side of the room, toward the direction door #3 would be in.
  180. [21:25] <Stali> "Same as flower Pokemon, ya?"
  181. 06[21:26] * Stali goes through that door as well! What could they be making, Dittos? OH GOD EVERYTHING SUDDENLY MAKES SENSE
  182. [21:26] <@Anatoly> "Indeed... I am goign to try something out..." Anatoly says as he motions to Petrom to reach and touch one of the pikachus here and give it a good pinch to the cheeks.
  183. 01[21:26] <zoofman> The other two of ya enter the bathroom. It's about what you expect. There's a comode, a sink, and a wastebasket. Though you do notice something odd about the decorative in here. There's twelve pictures framed around the room.
  184. 06[21:27] * Dmitri enters the washroom, pulling his scarf over his nose in anticipation.
  185. [21:27] <Dmitri> "Pictures..."
  186. 01[21:27] <zoofman> Smells like lemon freshness, someone was courteous to spray the deorderizor!
  187. 06[21:28] * Maksim follows in after Dmitri, then lifts one of the frames off the wall.
  188. [21:28] <Maksim> "A lot for one room, I guess."
  189. 01[21:29] <zoofman> Okay, Stali, Anatoly, you enter into room #3 with the Pikachus and a few Roselias carrying candies, frostings, and jellies. This room is filled with PIkachus as well, powering large, industrial convection ovens, and Clefaries decorating finished pastries on some tables nearby. http://i.imgur.com/iwT1O.png
  190. 06[21:29] * Dmitri examines the paintings, lifting them all in turn.
  191. 06[21:30] * Stali examines the finished pastries. What could they be making?
  192. 01[21:30] <zoofman> The pictures all seem to be very similar to one another. A man in a chef's getup, a Kingler with oven mitts, and a name and date on the frame.
  193. 01[21:31] <zoofman> Nothing happens when you guys take them off or move them around, however, roll perception.

  197. [21:31] <@Anatoly> Again with that face. Anatoly finds it strange that these pokemon definitely look very unusual.

  204. 01[21:33] <zoofman> Stali, Anatoly, they seem to be making a -lot- of varied pastries. cookies, cakes, crepes, cupcakes, donuts, all types and variations. Something odd does catch your eyes as you look over their work, though.
  205. 01[21:34] <zoofman> There's an extremely large caketray sitting off to the side filled with cake batter, like, bed sized, and there's a chef's hat sticking out of it.
  206. 06[21:34] * Stali goes to the cake tray and picks up the hat, looking at what's underneath.
  207. [21:34] <@Anatoly> "... Is that a chef's hat?" Anatoly asked as he comes closer with his klink and geodude by his side.
  208. 01[21:35] <zoofman> Maksim, you notice there's actually thirteen fastets in the wall for hanging things, but only twelve framed photos.
  209. 01[21:35] <zoofman> Under the hat? There's hair.
  210. [21:35] <Maksim> "There's a picture missing." Maksim points at the empty fastet.
  211. [21:35] <Maksim> "Well, a picture or something else."
  212. 01[21:35] <zoofman> Top of someone's head, at least.
  213. [21:36] <Dmitri> "Hmm..."
  214. [21:36] <Dmitri> "Let's try the other door then. We may be able to find more clues."
  215. 06[21:36] * Stali goes to reach inside the cake and pull whatever the hair belongs to out!
  216. [21:36] <@Anatoly> "Someone is inside!" Anatoly remarked as he helps Stali pull whoever is inside out!
  217. [21:37] <Maksim> "Hopefully."
  218. 06[21:37] * Maksim leaves the washroom and heads through door number 3.
  219. 01[21:38] <zoofman> You two pull a large, burly man in a chef's apron to his feet. He seems unconcious at first, until his eyes fling open and he starts coughing and gasping for air. Maksim and Dmitri would naturally walk in on this scene.
  220. 06[21:38] * @Anatoly also calls on Petrom to help pull whoever is inside out!
  221. [21:39] <Stali> "Man in cake? Why you there?"
  222. 06[21:39] * Maksim rushes over to help get the man fully out of the cake.
  223. 01[21:39] <zoofman> "Big Yerta's Flesh Rolls!" He doubles over, coughing still. "I thought I was done for in there! Thank the heavens someone showed up."
  224. 06[21:39] * Dmitri leaves the three to their task and watches from afar.
  225. [21:40] <Dmitri> "Who are you? What happened here?"
