- (0.0)::::::::::::::::::::FOREWORD:::::::::::::::::::::::
- Deciding the theme this time around was quite hard since there was a lot of interest for multiple different options. After some sorting the main contenders we were left with were: A chocolate box filled with small characters and character themed chocolates; characters simply doing the heart hands and the eventual winner – a photo album with all sorts of Valentine's Day themed activity.
- Probably mostly due to it's simplicity and cohesion of the would-be end result, a lot of people were voting for the Heart Hands option. The main criticism it received was that it's too limiting and in the end it's submissions would also be allowed to be submitted into the Photo Album variant.
- The Chocolate Box theme received almost equal votes compared to the Photo Album one. And as a theme it's would have still been quite open ended and would have ended up as a very cohesive and especially very fitting for a Valentine's Day theme.
- But in the end since the ideas people had for the collab were so various and the Photo Album idea would accommodate almost all of them, I chose to go with it.

- (3.0)::::::::::::::::::::::RULES::::::::::::::::::::::::
- (3.1) Submission outlines
- You can either make:
- An image that is submitted as a photo to the photo album.
- An image that is a card or similar that is added to the album or into the scene outside the albums,
- which is a desk or similar.
- An image that is a prop or a character that is added to the scene outside the albums, which is a desk
- or similar.
- Make sure your image is somehow Valentine's Day themed so I don't have to start curating them.
- (3.1) No size or shape limit for photo submissions
- The submissions will be added as close to 'as is' as feasible. Still, consider that a higher
- resolution image will end up with better quality in the end result. Also avoid extreme proportions
- as it will be hard to fit very long and narrow images in to an album.
- (3.1) Size lower limit is 300px x 700px for a character's or prop's dimensions for submissions existing
- outside the photos
- Characters should be of adequate size. It's easy to downscale them but impossible to
- upscale tiny images without considerable loss in quality to match the size of other characters.
- Something like 300px x 700px should do for most characters (not size of the piece but the character)
- as the bare minimum but the higher the resolution the better.
- Pixel art can be submitted in any size but a 1:1 version of the image for easier upscaling is
- preferred.
- See (2.2) Size Guide for reference.
- (3.2) Transparent background or a flat colour with clean hard edges on the character for submissions existing
- outside the photos
- Use transparent background or flat colour background with clean edges for easier extraction. So unless
- you have a clear plan with it or it's essential to the work don't draw arbitrary backgrounds. You can
- always deliver one version with and one without a background though.
- See (2.3) Background Guide for reference.
- (3.3) Multiple characters in one image are allowed, multiple deliveries are allowed
- Self explanatory. Having a few from the same person will be fine unless it'll start showing as a major
- pattern in the collab. In which case I'll have to suggest them to choose which to include.
- (3.4) Perspective
- The perspective of the collab will be near-or-exactly top down.
- See (2.4) Perspective Guide for reference.
- (3.6) The cutoff for entries is end of February 13 (PST).
- I will still be able to add any submissions that are sent before the collating process is too far in.
- (3.) The collab is SFW
- It's a blue board.
