  1. The scent of tea approaches, and Lilly Satou straightens her back slightly as she patiently waits for the server to arrive.
  2.
  3. “G-good evening. Lilly, Akira.”
  4.
  5. Judging from how her voice changes, Lilly assumes she bent her head. In a bow.
  6.
  7. “Good evening Yuuko.” Lilly said, returning the gesture.
  8.
  9. “Ey Yuuko. Wow, already ready huh?”
  10.
  11. The sound of cups being placed on the table in front of them is ever so obvious, and Lilly waits as her sister slides Lilly’s and her own cups to their proper place. “Yes…” Yuuko says, as Akira does so. “Since today is Halloween, we’ve prepared a special batch to serve to our regulars.”
  12.
  13. “Wonderful!” Lilly says, sighing in content as she sniffs the air. The faint scent of pumpkin is on the air, and must therefore be in the tea.
  14.
  15. “I’ll leave you to it.” Yuuko says, again bowing her head. She walks away rather quickly, though the place is not overly crowded. In fact, it must be a pretty easy night. Lilly could hear a pair of hushed conversations off to her left, and could make out the words.
  16.
  17. In true Halloween spirit, the Shanghai is a graveyard.
  18.
  19. “So.” Akira begins, sipping at her drink. She coughs, spluttering.
  20.
  21. “Are you okay?”
  22.
  23. “Ahem, yea.” She rasps. “Fine. Just really strong… I dunno, spice? What even is this?”
  24.
  25. Lilly raised the cup to her own mouth, a bit more guarded. The pumpkin spice flavor enters both her mouth and her sense of smell almost violently, but the taste of it is fascinating, like something she’s never had. And, as someone who considered themselves a tea aficionado, Lilly was not one to be outdone.
  26.
  27. “Mhmm, this is wondrous.” She said. She took another, deeper, drink of the tea, cupping the container in both of her hands.
  28.
  29. “Eh, you can have mine. I’ve never been a fan of this Holiday.” Akira says. The sound of the ceramic plate pushing across the table to her, and Lilly now had two of the cups.
  30.
  31. “I know. ‘Summer or bust.’” Lilly quoted her sisters often used remark.
  32.
  33. “Hey, it’s been years since I’ve used that. Working with dad, I’m full-time all the time now.”
  34.
  35. “But that doesn’t change that it is still your favorite, yes?”
  36.
  37. “Yea yea yea.”
  38.
  39. Lilly smiled, taking another drink of her cup. It was quickly beginning to run dry.
  40.
  41. “So, as I was trying to say, how have classes been? You’ve been alright these last few months?”
  42.
  43. “Oh they are going excellently. Winter is coming, and people are already becoming excited for the first snow fall. As class representative, they’ve petitioned me to ask the Student Council President if we will be able to build snowmen in the Quad-area.”
  44.
  45. “Oh, I’m sure that’ll go well… Are you two-”
  46.
  47. “Yes.” Lilly says, cutting her sister off before she can start.
  48.
  49. “I wish-”
  50.
  51. “I know. You know I would not be argumentative towards it, though I am sure that her and her minion talk silently behind my back. I will not stand for her insulting attitude, you know.”
  52.
  53. “Yeaaa, I know. That’s just how she is. She’s competitive.”
  54.
  55. “She’s rude.” Lilly retorts.
  56.
  57. Akira gives up with a laugh. They sit in silence for a moment, before Yuuko comes back over.
  58.
  59. “Oh… Did you not like it?” She asks Akira.
  60.
  61. “Not really. I’ll have a beer, please.”
  62.
  63. “Sure. For you, Ms. Lilly?”
  64.
  65. Lilly, who had started on the second cup, asked for another to be brought out for her in a moment. The more she drank of the substance, the more she found herself enjoying it. The strong scent and taste were overpowering at first, but as her senses grew accustomed to the feeling she found herself pleasantly taking it in. ‘I wonder if this is what Alcohol is like.’
  66.
  67. “So what about that new hall mate you were telling me about? Hera… Hane…?”
  68.
  69. “Hanako?” Lilly finishes. She places the empty cup in front of her, which is quickly whisked away by Yuuko whilst she replaces it. “She’s a lovely girl. Very withdrawn, sadly. Though I’ve assured her she’s more than welcome to join us she seems hesitant at times to even leave her room. We generally sit in there enjoying one another’s company. I’d love for you to meet her, though that may have to be in my room at the school rather than out here.”
  70.
  71. “Ah, know why she is so hesitant?”
  72.
  73. Lilly pursed her lips. “Honestly… no. She hasn’t really told me much, and though the first few times we had tea were rather awkwardly silent, she was very hesitant to leave. I keep feeling like she wants to say something… but I’m unsure.”
  74.
  75. Silence followed for a moment, before Akira let out a rather low laugh. “You really do play everybody’s mother. Glad to know it’s not just me.”
  76.
  77. Lilly blushed, and tilted her head down. To buy herself a moment, she took a drink of the tea. “Well, to be fair, the only person I’ve become close with is you. You were always busy, someone had to take care of you.”
  78.
  79. “Heh, yea, I guess. Just don’t forget that sometimes you need people to take care of you, too, okay?”
  80.
  81. “Yes, Akira.” Lilly said, not at all believing the words. The only person she would ever come to with her problems was Akira after all, and she wasn’t about to let her sister see that she was having difficulties. Sure, shopping alone was challenging. She’d tripped more times in the past year getting used to Yamaku than she’d ever had in her life, and the week that she did gym class in her first year before being properly excused from the course was all but torturous, but she’d managed. She beat every challenge, worked through every issue, herself. She didn’t need to rely on anyone.
  82.
  83. “Alright, kiddo. I gotta get goin.” Akira said, standing from the table.
  84.
  85. “Already? Can we not finish our last drinks first?”
  86.
  87. Akira waited a moment, thinking it over. “What the hell, it’s a Holiday.”
  88. ******************************************************************************************************************************************
  89.
  90. Twenty minutes later, the Satou sisters stood in front of the tea shop.
  91.
  92. “It was wonderful being with you again, Akira.”
  93.
  94. “Yea, it was nice. I’ll have to meet this Hanako girl sometime. Get back to school safe, okay?”
  95.
  96. Lilly smiled. “Yes, I must be careful with all of the monsters about on tonight of all nights.”
  97.
  98. “Oh shut up.” Akira said, pulling her taller younger sister into a hug.
  99.
  100. “Oh no, I’ve been caught by a snake! It’s wrapping itself around me!” Lilly said, her voice bored. She wrapped her own hands around her sister then, squeezing her tightly. “I love you, Akira.”
  101.
  102. “Love you too. Now go on, it’s late. The sun has already set.”
  103.
  104. “I’m in no rush.” Lilly replied.
  105.
  106. “You’re never in a rush. You’ve lived your entire life at a leisurely pace.” The memory of running in gym class came back to her. How she’d collided with other students and ran right off the track. Rarely had she ever been so embarrassed.
  107.
  108. “Yes and I’d say for good reason.”
  109.
  110. “Bye Lils.” Akira broke from the hug, her right arm still on Lilly’s shoulder. Lilly bent over to extend out her cane, and a gust of wind made her shiver as it brushed against her legs whilst whipping her hair about.
  111.
  112. “Woof, you should wear something other than a school uniform when it gets cold. I need to get you a jacket.”
  113.
  114. “Hanako actually offered me one today, a rain jacket I think. It was a nice thought.” She said. She’d refused, since it just seemed normal October chill, but that her relationship with the girl was progressing at all was a good sign.
  115.
  116. “That’s good. I’ll miss you.” Akira said.
  117.
  118. “I will miss you as well.” Lilly replied.
  119.
  120. They hugged a final time, and Lilly began walking off, her cane tapping along the way.
  121.
  122. *Tap-Tap-Tap*
  123.
  124. Lilly counted along, memorizing the steps to the next intersection. She paused at the intersection, listening for any sort of approaching engine. The sound of something smacking against the ground came from some distance behind her, but it wasn’t any of her business. It wasn’t a car, so she didn’t find herself particularly caring.
  125.
  126. *Tap-Tap-Tap*
  127.
  128. She walked across the intersection, and counted 50 more paces. The wind blew in her face, casting her hair backwards. She let out a long breath and felt the smell of the pumpkin spice in her own face as she did, smiling at the memory of the delicious taste of the sweet substance.
  129.
  130. She walked on, and began up the hill towards the school. She was never a fan of how the walk was, yet like everything else she soldiered on without complaint. The wind came in quicker off of the hill top, rushing downwards. Lilly had her eyes closed, and was happy for the fortune because she knew they’d be tearing up if she didn’t. A wet *SLOP* plopped right behind her, making her jump. She hopped to the left, and stood stock still.
  131.
  132. A gurgle sounded, like a hungry stomach, but Lilly knew there was nobody nearby… Or at least, she’d thought she had.
  133.
  134. “H-hello?” She asked the silence. The noise came from her right, still downwards of the hill, of what sounded like water breaking. Another gurgle, closer this time. Lilly breathed out of her mouth, her body tense. She didn’t move as the sound approached her. Closer. A wet smack came from right in front of her. She gripped her cane in her hands, ready to strike out if she needed.
  135.
  136. “H-hello?” She repeated, shaking.
  137.
  138. A wet, sticky substance impacted on her mouth, sending her sprawling. The cane flew from her hands and she hit the grass on the side of the walk. She fell face first, and instinctively she spat, some sticky fluid having made its way into her mouth. It tasted warm and sour, and clung to her tongue.
  139.
  140. The thing, whatever it was, gurgled in an angry sound, and Lilly could hear it rear up behind her. She screamed, her fingers digging into the earth as she pulled herself forward, and her feet found purchase in the grass as she reared up into a run. She’d lost her bearings, but remembered enough to be running uphill. The thing impacted against the ground where she’d just been, and she heard it sickeningly spread. It gurgled again, and began its pursuit of its prey.
  141.
  142. Lilly sprinted, and within moments could feel the burn in her often underused muscles. She cried out. “Help! Help!! Someone!” She ran forward, the sound of the creature feeling as if it were right on her heels. Up the hill, her mind tried counting the steps, tried to ignore the bestial creature, but its ever-present gurgle sent the terrified girl crying. Tears began to fall from unseeing eyes as pure panic overtook her. She stopped feeling the pain of her muscles as the adrenaline kicked in, and Lilly Satou had the presence of mind to know that she was about to die.
  143.
  144. The hill leveled out, and she knew she was about to run into the boundary wall. Outstretching her left hand, she turned diagonally and ran right, towards where the sidewalk should be. A loud wet smack followed by a crack as the creature impacted, and Lilly could hear it crawling against the wall. Her outstretched hand found it and lost it in a moment, her feet finding the sidewalk as she had passed the corner. She turned, darting close to the wall, and felt the sudden woosh and her hair be tugged as the creature enveloped and past through it, tugging on it hard enough to trip her. She found her footing though, and rand forwards, towards the gate. “Help! HELP!!” She screamed.
  145.
  146. She felt the bars of the gate under her hand, and pulled herself against them. Another woosh as the creature passed her, but this time a small bit had impacted on her right leg, the most outstretched. She tugged the gate, pulling it open, and felt the gate catch against the monster. It slowly sank through the creature, which still gripped her leg. She shook it to no avail, and the sticky sensation began to spread up her calf.
  147.
  148. She dived forward, falling to the ground, but the monster still held her tightly. “Help!! No!! Somebody!” She cried. She tried pushing against the creature, but the stick of slime enveloped her hands as she did. She pried them loose as the creature pulled on her leg, enveloping her thigh and beginning to spread to her other leg. Lilly clawed at the Earth, tears falling from her eyes as the monster pulled her deeper and deeper into it. A thousand needles suddenly sparked around her right leg, as it was completely enveloped, and she knew the creature had meant to eat her.
  149.
  150. She bash her hands against it wildly, screaming as loud as she could. The creature gurgled madly as the impact of her fist scattered bit of it. The slime had found its way up and around her skirt, and was now surrounding the entire left leg. It enveloped her hips, and slowly she felt it pulling the entirety of her in, inch by inch. She gasped as the creatures slime pressed against her underwear, and twisted furiously. Her body inside of the creature complied, and she brought her fist down everywhere she could.
  151.
  152. (HEY! HEY!) Shouted a voice, a strong man’s voice. Suddenly Lilly found arms wrapped around her middle, pulling her upwards from the creature’s maw. Strong arms tugged on her waist, and she felt the goop of the creature falling from her legs. The man pulled her entirely from the creature, who gurgled loudly and reared up in response.
  153.
  154. Lilly could hear distant shouting, and suddenly the creature began to make an unearthly scream. “The lights! Shine the lights!” The man pulling her shouted, and Lilly felt the slime that had remained on her start to heat up on her skin. It bubbled and fizzed against her, and she swatted at it. Voices around her all shouted, the man behind her yelled for the creature to burn. It howled, a sound that made her skin crawl, so animalistic and yet frighteningly unreal. The sound of bubbles popping, a boiling hot sound, and the creature screamed no more. Still, bubbles popped, and Lilly was sprayed by a bit of the liquid. She yelped, rubbing at herself, and slapping the grass to be rid of the slime. She spat as well, though the taste remained.
  155.
  156. “Are you okay, Ms?” Asked the man that had pulled her out of the creature.
  157.
  158. “Y-yes.” She replied, shakily. “It… I lost my cane. Outside. It chased me. Can someone… please?”
  159.
  160. “Yea, of course. Hey, Yoshiro! Get a blanket, I’m going to grab her cane outside.”
  161.
  162. “There might be other freaks, so have your flashlight ready Price.”
  163.
  164. “Yea. Hell of a first day.” Price, the man who’d pulled her free, muttered to himself. Lilly heard a click that must be the light, and he was gone. Yoshiro, one of the others, came over to her and helped her up. He wrapped her in a blanket, and she stood, simply standing there, as he and a few others inspected the creature. She heard words like “sick” and “slime,” but she tried to tune them out as she was more focused on not throwing up. Her body remained tense, but she felt like she needed to crumple over and puke. Her lungs burned with every breath, and her legs felt as if they’d been seared from the all-encompassing sting of pain.
  165.
  166. ‘I was nearly eaten alive…’ She thinks to herself. She wraps the blanket tighter around herself as the fear of the situation stays with her, even though the monster has passed.
  167.
  168. “Ms?” The man says. “I have your cane. Here.” Lilly reaches forward and he places the cane in her hand, which Lilly grips to her chest. She can tell that it was sticky… or maybe it was her hands.
  169.
  170. “Thanks… Can I go to my room?”
  171.
  172. “Yes, of course. Would you like an escort?”
  173.
  174. “No… No, I’ll find my way. Thank you.”
  175.
  176. Lilly walked off, finding the path way and following it. She walked along, not even counting the steps. She whipped at her face to find it still streaked with tears. She didn’t even care. She had finally stopped shaking. She was tired, and honestly she just felt hot and sick, and no matter what she did she couldn’t get the damn taste of that stupid fluid out of her mouth.
  177.
  178. Eventually, she found the girls dorms. Lilly ascended up the stairs, turning off on the second floor. She walks over, my hand tracing the plaques on the left wall. Eventually, she finally arrive at her room, number 225. She unlock the door, sliding it open. She walks into the room, feeling hot and tired and hating today. Closing the door behind her, she feels the need to call Akira, to hear a familiar voice, but she’s tired and just wants to sleep… or barf, she can’t decide which.
  179.
  180. Flopping onto her bed, Lilly feels herself spread out onto it. Still fully clothed, she shivers. She moans to herself. “Ugh, I forgot to close the window…” She groggily pushes herself to the edge, and forces herself to stand. Walking over to the window, she lifts her fingers to it… only to find the window is shut. There’s no cold wind entering the room, but Lilly shivers all the same. She pulls the curtains shut, cursing the damned Holiday. She rips her hairband from her head and lets it fall to the floor. Her long hair surrounds her, spreading over and surrounding her body like a small forest. It’s comforting, to an extent, but she still feels cold. Feverish, she decides. She chooses not to remove her white and green uniform in favor of her pajamas, too tired to be worth the effort, and lays down in bed.
  181.
  182. ‘Sleep.’ She thinks to herself. ‘I just need sleep. Come morning, I’ll wake up, and this will all have been a bad dream.’
  183. ******************************************************************************************************************************************
  184.
  185. Morning came, and morning went. Hanako Ikezawa sat in her room reading a book about Ghosts that she’d started yesterday. It was November now, the first, and was a weekend. Normally, she got breakfast with Lilly on the weekends… but she hadn’t come over yet. Hanako’s stomach whined at her impatiently. She really wanted a doughnut, something sweet to calm her tummy, but she would wait. Lilly would wait for her, after all. Hanako took a candy bar out of her side table and chewed at it. Her stomach, placated for the moment with the small offering, allowed her to return to reading.
  186.
  187. Maybe she WAS waiting for her, Hanako decided after her stomach gurgled again. She picked up a bookmark and slid it into the page. She walked over to her door and reached out for the handle… Then, she walked over to her chair, sat down, and opened the book back up.
  188.
  189. She could wait.
  190.
  191. Time passed, and her stomach let out a further whine. She found herself reading and re-reading lines, as her mind persisted in wondering where Lilly was. It was getting colder… maybe she’d gotten sick.
  192.
  193. Or maybe she was testing Hanako. Seeing if she could come to her instead of her having to be the one who initiated.
  194.
  195. Hanako stood up, a bit encouraged. If Lilly really thought she could do it… Well, maybe she could. Maybe she wasn’t so weak, that Lilly took pity on her. How could she be taking pity on her if she thought she could do this?
  196.
  197. Hanako reached out and twisted the knob.
  198.
  199. Or maybe she doesn’t want to talk to me… Maybe she just… Maybe she hates me…
  200.
  201. No, shut up. She doesn’t hate you. You know she doesn’t hate you. What if she’s sick? What if she’s hurt? What if what if what if-
  202. Hanako opened the door. She peaked her head out into the hallway, her long purple hair covering her right eye. She scanned the hall, back and forth, and saw no one. She quickly, silently, stepped across the hall. Inside Lilly’s room, she heard a groan. It was long and low.
  203.
  204. Hanako raised her hand to the door. Then she lowered it. Then raised it again, and knocked. The moan came out, louder this time, and Hanako could swear she could make out a “Noooooo.”
  205.
  206. “L-L-Lilly?” Hanako asked, tentatively. The moan was heard again, soft and low. Hanako wondered if she should go to the school’s security.
  207. The moan inside scared her, she was afraid that she’d open the door and something could have happened to the blind woman… or maybe she felt and hurt herself. Hanako raised her hand to the door knob and turned it, sliding the door slightly open.
  208.
  209. “L-Lilly?” she whispered into the room.
  210.
  211. “W-waater.” Moaned the voice of the girl from inside the room. “Ne-eed water.”
  212.
  213. “Hang on Lilly.” Hanako said. She rushed to her room and withdrew a waterbottle from her package. She quickly stepped back to the other room, and peered in through the gap. She could just make out Lilly’s dresser, as well as a few stacks of books and the tea table, but the blind girl herself was nowhere in sight. The room was black, the curtains pulled closed.
  214.
  215. Hanako pulled the door open a bit more, intent on slipping inside. Lilly groaned as the light fell on her bed. “Noooo” She moaned pathetically from beneath a blanket. “Closecloseclose.”
  216.
  217. Hanako stepped in, skirting in through the small gap, and pulled it shut behind her. Lilly sighed. “Hanako… water…”
  218.
  219. Hanako approached the bed, twisting the cap from the bottle.
  220.
  221. “Here.” She said. “I have a bottle and it’s filled. Can you drink?”
  222.
  223. Worry replaced the girls normally shy demeanor. Her friend was in trouble. Her friend needed her. Her friend-
  224.
  225. Her friend sat up in the bed, the blanket falling off from over her.
  226.
  227. Her friend was green. Not like sick, green. Green green. The darkness of the room affected her, but her body was definitely green, with her long and twisting yellow blonde hair was flecked with bits of green as well.
  228.
  229. Hanako stood, frozen, as the green girl reached out and took the bottle from Hanako’s grasp. Her eyes were the same bright blue, blanketed with the girl’s blindness, and were the only thing that remained unchanged about her. The girl raised the bottle to her lips, only for it to slide from her grasp. It fell onto the bed, and Hanako witnessed the strangest thing she’d ever seen. Her hair, Lilly’s hair, pounced on the water. The girl sighed in relief as it hungrily drank at the water, Hanako watched as the yellow and green hair… no, not hair. It was slime. The slime flexed as it lapped up the spilt water, pulsing like a heartbeat. It was only then that Hanako could see that her friend was naked. She watched as Lilly’s chest swelled, growing larger as she drank hungrily. Hanako could see Lilly’s uniform inside of her chest, and her skirt in her legs, as she drank the liquid off of her bed, kneeling.
  230.
  231. Hanako felt herself begin sweating.
  232.
  233. “L-Lilly?”
  234.
  235. “More.” Said the more engorging woman. “I need more water. Hanako…”
  236.
  237. “I-I-I-”
  238.
  239. Hanako was cut off as Lilly stood from the bed. Her clothing fell out of her as she did. Her sightless eyes were fixed on Hanako.
  240.
  241. “I need… I need to drink.” Her hair danced out, then, searching over Hanako. Hanako could feel them picking at the droplets of sweat, which only began coming faster and faster. “Hanako.” Said the girl, approaching her. The yellow and green girl enveloped her back, pulling Hanako against her. Lilly opened her mouth, and began kissing her. Hanako felt herself blanch, she tried to push against Lilly but her hands just pushed into her. The sticky feeling spread around her hands, and she could feel it sucking at her skin. There was no pain, as Lilly’s tongue searched around Hanako’s mouth, taking in her body. Hanako felt the girl’s body, her slime, and press up against her own. Her strands of ‘hair’ ripped at her chest, popping the buttons off powerfully. The buttons flew into Lilly, though she showed no sign of noticing as her hair hungrily sucked and pressed against her breasts. Hanako, who hadn’t worn a bra, gasped as she felt Lilly press her tongue deep into her mouth. Her tongue tasted sweet, almost honey-like.
  242.
  243. She couldn’t help it, her breasts started to perk as the other woman sucked at them, and another area began to grow wet. Lilly withdrew her tongue, licking Hanako’s face as she sweated, while her slimy hands tugged at her skirt, pulling it down along with her underwear. Her hand pressed up and enveloped her thigh, her body hungrily kissing and sucking at each and every pore. Her fingers spread, as her hair and body sucked at Hanako’s body and her tongue sucked her face. Hanako moaned, trying to be quiet but unable to restrain the feeling of pleasure of the cool liquid flowing around her. She began to fall backwards, and found herself caught and placed on Lilly’s bed.
  244.
  245. The green girl’s breasts were large and growing, and pressing against Hanako’s own. They enveloped her, pressing firmly yet softly against her. Her fingers pressed against her again, and Hanako bit her lip. The feeling on a thousand kisses, a thousand sucking lips, quickly sent the girl over the edge, and she moaned loudly as she released into the hungrily feeding girl. Immediately, as suddenly as she had begun, she stopped. She backed off of the girl, who felt every bit of slime leave her body as she lay there, panting. “Lilly… Oh my god… Lilly…” Said Hanako, filled to the brim with pleasure for the first time she could ever remember.
  246.
  247. “Oh my goodness, Hanako!? What did I just do?? Hanako??”
  248.
  249. Hanako moaned, her body tightening and unraveling. She squeezed her thighs together tightly. She wasn’t exactly ready to talk just yet. Even the taste of the other woman was gone, though her mind was screeching for her to have it back.
  250.
  251. Hanako opened her eyes to stare up at Lilly, who looked, really looked, down at her. “C-can- can you see?” Hanako managed. It was a stupid question, she knew, but it was the first and only thought she had.
  252.
  253. “Noooo. Not so much see as… I don’t know. I simply feel you. Oh my goodness, are you well? What just happened? Did I… Did we?”
  254.
  255. Hanako moaned again, trying to stand as her knees knocked against one another.
  256.
  257. “W-what…” she breathed heavily, trying to get her bearings. “What happened? To you?”
  258.
  259. “I… I don’t know… Something happened last night. Am I naked? My clothes…” She trailed off. She tried to pick up one of the fallen garments and put it on, but it just went through her arms as she tried. She seemed to be able to pick stuff up when she wanted, but to wear it? She moaned sadly.
  260.
  261. “Oh no… Hanako, I’m so-”
  262.
  263. “No, don’t…” Hanako said. “Don’t you… Ugh, oh God. Don’t you dare apologize. Not… Not after that.”
  264.
  265. Lilly visibly gave the appearance of biting her lip, though how she did it was a wonder to Hanako.
  266.
  267. “Just… Oh my God.” Said Hanako, as she straightened up. “You’re so tall!” She exclaimed. The green girl stood now almost 180 centimeters, way above where she had stood even yesterday. Her chest billowed out ahead of her, and her hips were also far extenuated. She looked like an hour glass, but one entirely filled with the slime. Strains of hair danced down around her hips, though they were solid and bulbous. “I think something happened to you…” Hanako said, as the understatement of the year. “A-are you still… I could get some more water for you, if you need.”
  268.
  269. Lilly buried her face in her hands, mumbling around them. “No… no I think… I don’t know, I have no idea what happened.”
  270.
  271. “Can you… can you just please wait here for a moment? I’ll be right back.”
  272.
  273. Hanako opened the door, the light shining brightly on the girl’s skin. She stood, tall and green and the liquid of her body danced around, but nothing happened as the brightness shown on her.
  274.
  275. “Light… I can actually sense the light. I can feel where things are…” Lilly said, her head looking around her room. Hanako left the room and went to her own. She quickly returned with another bottle, and the rain jacket she’d offered Lilly earlier.
  276.
  277. “Here… I don’t know how well this will fit, but try this on.”
  278.
  279. The jacket fit, although barely, over Lilly’s chest. It reached down just past her waist, covering her more… Hanako tried not to think of whether or not Lilly even had that part of her any more. “We better hold off on the water… I don’t want to grow out of this on accident and ruin it…”
  280.
  281. “We have to find out what happened to you. How you became… This.” Hanako said. Her usual timidness, her mind decided, could wait. Her friend needed her, and she wasn’t going to let her friend down.
  282.
  283. “Okay… but first, can we get something to eat?” Lilly said, her eyes looking down at Hanako. “I’m starving.”
