Daoist Anon Is Lost: Day 1

"Kite! Come!"
>Playing chase with your dog. It's for cardio.
>Being the good dog she is, Kite comes immediately.
Petting her. "Kite, my dear companion, I feel that we are lost."
>Kite looks at you happily, with her tongue hanging lazily as she pants.
>You laugh. What did you expect? She's a dog.
"Kite. Town"
>She perks up, looks around, sniffs the air and then trotts off in a random direction, with you following.

3 Hours later

>Munching on some berries you found. They looked safe, a very dark blue. That's a good sign.
>Kite barks.
>Looking up you realize you're at the edge of the woods.
>There is a house... that looks like it's roof is a tree, and crowded with animals.

>Okay. Whatever. It's a house. Where there is a house, there is a person. And that person can help you find your way home.
"Good girl." You scratch Kite behind the ear and feed her a piece of jerky from your pack.
>As you start to walk up to the house you spot something that stops you dead in your tracks.
>There is a yellow... horse... with wings, coming around the corner.
>You look at the horse. It looks back. You look at Kite. Kite looks at you. You look at the berries. You look at the horse again.
"Right, I think I've had enough berries for one day," You say to yourself, putting the berries into a pouch on your pack. Don't want Kite eating them.
>You hear a squeeking sound from the horse and watch it fly off. Weird, maybe you aren't tripping after all.
>You shrug it off and walk up to the house, Kite following a few paces behind.
"Hello! Anybody home?"
>No answer. You look in the windows. Nothing.
You shrug and look at Kite, "Nobody home, I guess."

>You turn around and head back down the path. There is a sort of road that you saw.
>All roads lead to Rome, as they say.
>The road is rocky, and not very nice to walk on, but at least you haven't hallucinated anymore.
"Well, Kite, hell of a day, this is turning out to be?"
>She bugles at you.
"Hah! Always the optimist, you." You scratch her ear."Okay."
>At the release command 'okay' Kite runs off ahead of you.
>After walking for about 20 minutes you call Kite back over. Time for a break.
>After chasing your dog around all day deep in the woods, getting lost, hallucinating a yellow horse with wings, and still having no idea where you are, you need a bite to eat.
>You find a pleasent spot under a large tree off to the side where you and Kite can share a loaf of bread that you pull out of your bag.
>Kite sits patiently, waiting for her portion, careful not to look at you.
>Such good manners, that dog has, you think as you pass her a third of the small loaf.
"Careful. Don't eat it too fast. You don't want to get cramps."
>She wolfs it down anyway.
>You laugh.
>You're quite close to your dog. It's been just you and her for quite a while. You're not lonely though. A woodland hermit is a fitting life for you.

>Before you can reminiss too much into your past you hear the sound of horses coming down the road, and fast.
>You look down the road to see... more colored horses. This time an orange one, and a purple one. The purple one even has a horn.
>What the hell.
>Not only that, but they all have hair.
>Good thing you had your bread. If you're going to go crazy, may as well do it on a full stomach.
>You look at Kite, who is staring intently at the sky.
>You look up to see another winged horse, this time blue soaring above you.
"Well, you can see them too, eh girl? I guess they're real," You say to Kite, putting your hand on her head.
>You're concerned. What the hell have you walked into?
"Alright, Kite. Circle," you command her. She immediately takes off, circling around into the brush.

>The horses stop in front of you, and the winged one lands behind you.
>They're only half your size! Duh, a pony.
>The purple one steps forward.
> "<Hi! Jeez. When Fluttershy said a monster from the Everfree Forest was loose, this is not what I had imagined. I guess she was exgerrating. But that said, what exactly ARE you?">
>You've never heard a pony make so much noise. Then again, you've also never seen a pony with a horn, that was blue, yellow, orange, or purple, for that matter.
"Woah now. Relax..."
>You look down beneith the pony to check its sex.
> "<Woah! Hey, what are you doing?>"
> The pony makes more noise and steps back.
"Huh? What's wrong, girl?"
> "<Twilight, do that talking spell thing. I don't think it can understand us."
>Oh great. Now the blue one is making noise. If you didn't know better, you'd say they were talking.
>The horn on the purple one starts glowing, and suddenly there is a bright flash of light.
>You yelp in surprise.
>It's loud enough that Kite comes bolting out of a nearby bush and lunges at the purple unicorn pony.
>"Woah, nelly!" the orange one yells as she gets in Kite's path.
>Kite lands on the pony and clamps down on the back of its neck.
>The pony rears up and bucks Kite off.
"Holy shit, you talk! Kite, heel, girl!" You yell admist the chaos.
>Kite gently rolls off the bucking and rushes to your side, her ruff still up and staring daggers at the ponies.

"Calm down, Kite. Friends," you whisper down to your dog. She visibly relaxes, but still watches the colorful ponies.
>"What the hay!" the orange one shouts, stomping forward.
>"Applejack!" the purple one interrupts, putting a hoove out to stop it... her. "This creature is an unknown species! We need to treat it with respect! We need to study and obser-"
"Ahem. Not to interrupt you, miss pony, but could somebody tell me what's going on here? One minute I'm lost in the woods with my dog, and the next I'm in some crazy land where horses have horns, wings, and can talk. And that's not even mentioning the bizarre coloring."
>"Oh! Of course! First off, I'm Twilight Sparkle, and you're in Ponyville. This is Applejack. And the pegasus behind you is Rainbow Dash. I'm not exactly sure what exactly is going on here, myself... What kind of creature are you?"
"Um, I'm a human. The name's Anon, by the way. And, uh, Applejack(?) I'm sorry my dog bit you. She was just being protective."
>"Well, it's fine. She didn't hurt me none."
>"Celestia is going to want to meet you, Anon," the pur- Twilight says. "Would you mind coming into town with us?"
You shrug. "Sure, why not? I was headed there anyway, by all accounts. Come, Kite."

>Many long hours later, it's night.
>You've met a white pony named Rarity, a purple dragon named Spike, and a hyper pink pony named Pinkie Pie...
>You've learned that you are in Equestria.
>You've learned of a godlike being that is their princess, Celestia.
>You've figured out that you're not going home anytime soon.
>On the bright side, they did provide you with an excellent salad with fruit for desert. It was all extremely fresh, and very tasty.
>All in all, not a bad day.

>Currently meditating, while Kite sleeps, trying to relax while the ponies find you a place to stay.
>A soft voice calls from behind you."Um.. Anon.."
>Turn to see Fluttershy behind you. "Oh, hi Fluttershy. Find a place for me to stay then?"
>"Uh.. N-no. Not yet... Why are you sitting on the floor by yourself..?" she asks meekly.
"I'm meditating. Where I'm from its a relaxation technique. You can use it to become closer to the Dao.'
>"The Dao..?" she inquires, genuinely curious.
"Aren't you supposed to be finding me a place to sleep for the night?"
>You hear a SQUEE and Fluttershy running off.
>Just as expected. Didn't want to explain Dao after the day you've had.

>Two minutes later
>"Anon! We found somepony to put you up!" Pinkie practically yells at you.
>Not a moments rest.
You get up. "Oh? And where at?"
>"Follow me!" she bounces out the door.
"That girl's a little weird. Come Kite," You grab your things and follow Pinkie Pie out.
>Everybody is outside waiting for you, along with another pony.
>Why is everybody here?
>Ponies are weird. Whatever.
>Twilight is the first to speak. "Anon, I'd like you to meet my good friend, Twinkle. She used to go to school with me back in Canterlot. Now she's here in Ponyville studying astronomy under Princess Luna's guidance. She's agreed to let you stay with her for the time being."
>Canterlot? What? Jeez.
>A white pony with a pink mane steps forward, smiles curtly, and introduces herself. "I'm Twinkle. You are welcome to stay with me, if you like"
"I'd be honored."
>"Well, if that's all settled, you two need to run along! It's getting late." Twilight says, pushing you out into the night.
>What the heck? First she couldn't get enough of you and now she's literally pushing you out.
>You'll deal with it in the morning.
"So how far's your house?"
>"Oh just a short walk. We'll be there in about 10 minutes."
"Okay. Good. I'm beat. Come, Kite!"
>You walk to Twinkle's house, making idle chit chat. You explain the expression "I'm beat", talk about her studies, etc.
>When you arrive she shows you to your room, you say good night, toss your things under the bed and climb in, with Kite curled up next to you.
