  1. -Interrogation- by Toga
  2.
  3. "Carrots, you don't understand. I am literally dying. Flatlining. You take forever."
  4.
  5. A light smack caught him across the back of his head. Not enough to hurt, but enough to make him flinch. "It's Officer Hopps to you, perp."
  6.
  7. Still at her game, then. She was committed to her role, he had to give her that much at least. The bunny may make a hell of a cop but she could've just as easily been an actor. She'd been at it for nearly two hours now, teasing and touching. She was apparently in her element, whereas Nick found himself floundering. The fox twice her size had no problem acting the big scary predator when she wanted, but he found things a bit more difficult playing the submissive role in whatever games she could cook up.
  8.
  9. "Fine, Officer Hopps. Just, uh, take this blindfold off and I'll tell you what I know." He felt another strike across his arm--no real pain, but definitely not one of her paws. "Hey, what was that? Was that a billy club? Where the hell did you get a club?"
  10.
  11. "I ask the questions, perp. You've been uncooperative this entire time. I'll do something for you," He felt her presence in front, and a noticeable weight straddled his lap. Her thighs trapped his length in a vice. "--Once you finally do something for me."
  12.
  13. He shuddered as she shifted her legs back and forth, rubbing her bare thighs across his entirety. That soft, short, fluffy fur rubbing, rubbing, rubbing, so close and yet so far, wishing he could free his arms and just grab her and bounce her up and down and--
  14.
  15. It was positively unbearable.
  16.
  17. "Okay, that's it. I'm calling it here. Blueberry cobbler. There, I said it."
  18.
  19. "Sweet cheese and crackers, this is the second time!"
  20.
  21. "You've been killing me for two hours, Carrots! I can see the clock through the bottom of the blindfold; do you have any idea how early we have to be at the precinct tomorrow?"
  22.
  23. "Oh, come on, Nick," she cooed. "The build up is the best part. You don't use a safe word because you're impatient." She scooted forward on his lap to hug him, nuzzling her face in his neck while inadvertently sliding herself up his length. The sensation caught him off guard. It was the first time during the whole act that he had gotten to feel her. She was absolutely soaked.
  24.
  25. He sighed, defeated, tired, and just plain horny. Let the bunny play her game out, he thought. She was having fun. "Fine, Officer Hopps. Just pick up the pace a little."
  26.
  27. She grabbed a fistful of his neck fur and hoisted herself to her feet, earning a yelp from her captive. She stood on his lap, balancing herself on his thighs.
  28.
  29. "It's like I said, perp." An intensely vicious heat appeared at the end of Nick's muzzle; pulsing, wet, and intoxicating. "You do something for me, and I'll do something for you."

  32.
  33. So the morning was a bit of a rough start. After a mere five hours of sleep, the usual get-up-and-go routine turned into something more resembling a stumble-and-struggle. No breakfast for either of them save for a fruit bar, the fastest shower they had ever taken, a quick straightening-up of their uniforms and they were out the door.
  34.
  35. It would have seemed pretty impressive if they weren't getting chuckled at as they passed by the rest of the gang. McHorn, Grizzoli, Fangmeyer--everyone was doing their best not to laugh. Clawhauser was remarkably silent given his usual gregariousness. He only pursed his lips as they walked past, fighting a losing battle against an ever-widening smile.
  36.
  37. Both Judy and Nick were too far out of it to care about anything other than getting to the coffee machine in the breakroom before heading to the bullpen. Too tired for even a single flight of stairs, they stepped into the elevator and Nick punched in what he hoped was the correct floor. They would've been on their way had an arm not shot past the door to hold it open. Chief Bogo strode in and punched the top floor before saying a word.
  38.
  39. "Hopps, Wilde. Morning." He looked down at them when neither answered intelligibly. "What's with you two? You both look like a truck's hit you."
  40.
  41. The elevator luched upward to the second floor and the doors opened.
  42.
  43. "Nothing bad, Chief," Judy said, leading Nick as they walked out. "Just uh, a rough night. You know how it is, sometimes work follows you home, reports pile up."
  44.
  45. Bogo grabbed her and Nick by the collars of their uniforms, yanking them both off their feet and back into the elevator.
  46.
  47. "Hey!" Nick said, now wide awake. "What's the deal?"
  48.
  49. "Both of you," Bogo grunted. "My office. Now." Bogo's stern tone carried with it a finality that dissuaded any argument or protest and it was all they could do to watch the elevator doors close. The coffee would have to wait.
  50.
  51. The elevator spat them out one floor higher, and Judy and Nick trailed Bogo to his office, thankful that he wasn't dragging them in by their collars. He held the door open for them both and motioned for them to take a seat. They both hopped up onto a single chair meant for a larger animal and kept silent as Bogo took his seat on the other side of the desk.
  52.
  53. "Now," he said, slowly, tiredly removing his reading glasses. "I'm not going to ask again what happened to you two because clearly it is none of my business. What is my business is making sure my officers are operating as smoothly and efficiently as possible."
  54.
  55. Judy, sensing where the conversation was going, opened her mouth to interject but Bogo kept talking.
  56.
  57. "Department protocol forbids office relationships--"
  58.
  59. "Chief, wait, this isn't--I mean you don't--I can explain--"
  60.
  61. "Ease up, Hopps. As I was saying, protocol forbids supervisor/employee relationships and relationships that any reasonable mammal would suspect could interfere with or supercede duties to the ZPD. Now I know--"
  62.
  63. "I assure you, Chief, that we--"
  64.
  65. "Hopps, if I have to tell you to relax one more time you'll be on parking duty for a week." She leaned back into the chair. "I know you're not the first partners to partner up and you sure won't be the last, and neither of you is supervising the other, so that conflict is avoided. But the moment--and I mean the absolute second--you two bring your personal issues into the ZPD I will split you up. Understand?"
  66.
  67. Judy was still at a loss and unsure whether or not to say yes or no, afraid to deny what the Chief so plainly saw but afraid to admit to anything either.
  68.
  69. Nick, on the other hand, was largely unimpressed with Bogo's deduction. "Glad we had this talk, Chief, really, but it all kind of seems like a moot point when you've got no proof."
  70.
  71. Bogosighed heavily enough to rustle some of the papers across his desk. "So you two had a rought night, was that it? Work followed you both to your separate homes? Struggling to get those reports done, all the way into the wee hours of the morning?"
  72.
  73. Neither said anything.
  74.
  75. "So you went to bed late, got up a little late. Maybe skipped breakfast or something, I don't know. Grabbed your things without looking because it's all just muscle memory at this point, right?" He turned his gaze to Judy. "Tell me, Hopps, how'd you get kitted up before coming to work this morning?"
  76.
  77. If her ears could have sagged any further they'd have fallen off her head. "I, uh, grab my uniform, my badge, my belt, make sure everything's on it..."
  78.
  79. "Good, good," said Bogo, nodding his head. "Got your radio, your little first aid kit, your cuffs. All that, right?"
  80.
  81. "Yes sir."
  82.
  83. "Can I see your cuffs, please?"
  84.
  85. Judy reached for the cuffs hanging off the back of her utility belt. She stopped dead when she felt what was wrong.
  86.
  87. "Give me your cuffs, Hopps."
  88.
  89. She swallowed hard. A soft jingling clank as they came off her belt, and she produced a pair of fuzzy pink cuffs, with an orange hair or two tangled in the fibers. Nick slapped his forehead.
  90.
  91. "And you, Wilde," Bogo said smugly. "You grab your gear same as she does?"
  92.
  93. "I'm not one for suspense, Chief. Just lay it out."
  94.
  95. "You're wearing Hopps' nameplate." Nick checked the plate himself. Bogo simply stared with a blank expression, though he revelled in getting to poke fun at Wilde for once, even if no one else was around to see it.
  96.
  97. "Well," Nick said. "That's something."
  98.
  99. "I'm taking you both off the street today because it's clear your head aren't straight. Fangmeyer and Delgato will take your route and you'll be at your desks. Actually doing your reports this time. And the next time this happens I'll leave you both alone to walk about the city thinking everything's fine and dandy while everyone is snickering behind your backs." Not that he would actually let them do that; the press would have a field day and rip the ZPD in the papers. "Am I clear, officers?"
  100.
  101. "Yes sir."
  102.
  103. "Go on then."
  104.
  105. They both sliped off the chair and quickly made for the door. Only once outside did Judy let go of a breath she had been subconsciously holding since realizing she had the fuzzy cuffs on her.
  106.
  107. "I can't believe that just happened."
  108.
  109. "Hey, it's all about the build-up, right?" Nick said. "This was a heck of a pay-off."
  110.
  111. "I am really not in the mood for your jokes, so can you please not?"
  112.
  113. Nick looked around. "Right here? Aren't you sore from that reaming we just got?"
  114.
  115. "Another word and you will sleep in the hallway for a year."
