- For reference, I don't want to use the name 'Vault Hunter in Equestria'
- So give me some ideas because I can't think of a good one
- Also yeah it moves a little quickly, but it's just the intro. I'll be taking my time with this story.
- Oh, and posting these just because
- Semi-related

- >The sign on the top of the building read 'Sanctuary City Archives'
- >Hanging under it was a banner, bearing the symbol of the former Crimson Lance; now the Crimson Raiders
- >The banner read: 'Fight Back! Join The Resistance!'
- >And that's exactly what you were going to do
- >You walk into the front door and find a couple tables setup, littered with promotional propaganda-style posters
- >On said posters was the man you were supposed to meet with
- >Roland
- >Behind the tables was a woman studying something through a microscope
- >She was wearing a dark red lab coat and had a pair of goggles on the top of her head
- >...why the fuck was she wearing goggles?
- >She didn't seem to notice you walk in
- >You clear your throat and begin to speak
- "Excuse me?"
- >"Yes, what do you need? If you couldn't tell I'm a little busy at the moment." she says, not taking any concentration off what she was doing
- "I'm just here to see Roland."
- >She looks up at you curiously
- >"Roland? Oh.. You must be another vault hunter. I'm sorry but he's not here, go on up stairs and meet with Lilith, she will fill you in."
- >When she finishes she looks back down and places an eye on the microscope
- "Okay, thanks."
- >Fuck, he wasn't here?
- >What the hell
- >Oh well
- >You proceed to head up stairs into a hall-way
- >There was a door to the left and one to the right, both opened
- >You peak through the left, and it's just a mostly destroyed room, opening out into nothing
- >Because, you know, the city was floating in the sky
- >You'd think they might wanna close this door or something?
- >Oh well, not your problem
- >Moving into the other room, nothing much interesting here
- >Couch, couple bunk-beds, and a giant bank vault door on the side
- >You walk into the room past this
- >Now this looks like a war-room
- >Big interactive map of this sector of Pandora in the center, various monitors lining the walls
- >On the balcony out the other side of the room were three people; two guys who looked like they were comparing sniper rifles, and a really attractive woman
- >Looks like she noticed you come in
- >She rolls her eyes at the other two and walks into the room
- >"Sup?"
- "Uhh, hey, I take it you're Lilith?"
- >"Yep. You the new vault hunter?"
- "Yeah, name's Anonymous, but Anon works. You know where Roland is?"
- >"Oh, uhh.. sorry Anon, he's not around anymore. He was.. killed, by Handsome Jack."
- "Wait, what? The man in charge of Hyperion?"
- >"The very same. Thankfully he got what was coming to him. Anyway, I'm running this thing for now."
- "Sorry to hear about that.. so what's the word on the second vault here then?"
- >"We just found it recently. Jack opened it and released an ancient warrior. We took it down and gave Jack the defeat he deserved."
- "Oh.. so it's all finished here? What about me then?"
- >"Well if you're so interested in hunting a vault, we found a map with the location of a ton of vaults on all kinds of different planets around the galaxy. You'd be on your own for a while, but we'd be more than happy to send you to one."
- "Seriously? Well shit, bring it up!"
- >Lilith types a command into the center console and the map projects a hologram of the galaxy, marking locations of many vaults
- "Oh, wow. That's crazy. So, any recommendations?"
- >"Not really. There is one planet that's held my attention more than the others though."
- >She points to what was probably the most distant system
- >Awesome
- "Looks pretty far away. What's so different about it though?"
- >"It's never showed up on any charts before, as if nobody has ever been there or even discovered it."
- "Really now? So that place is full of mysteries then."
- >"For sure. From what we've seen, every planet with a vault that we have charted and scoped out is a habitable planet, full of life, even intelligent life. So chances are it'll be the same there. But, the choice is yours."
- "So I get to choose any of these huh? Well I wasn't prepared for this."
- >"Well, at least don't take either of these." she says, pointing out a few nearby systems
- "Why not?"
- >"We've already sent a few vault hunters to check them out."
- "Hmm. Fine by me, I'm liking the idea of the mysterious far-away planet that nobody has seen before."
- >"You serious?"
- "Hey, sometimes I like going into the unknown. Besides, if it means less resistance from Hyperion or anyone else, that'll just make things easier for me."
- >"Yeah, got a point there. There's no saying if Hyperion has been there or not though, so don't count them out yet."
- "Sure. Well, when can I get going? I'm eager to get hunting."
- >"Glad to hear it. We'll bring out a one-man shuttle for you and program it with this planet's coordinates. Head back down to the pad in front of Scooter's, I'll have him get one ready for you."
- "Awesome, thanks. Well, nice meetin' ya Lilith, catch ya later."
- >"Good hunting man. Oh hey, take this long-range echo communicator with you, you can use it to stay in contact with us."
- "From that distance? Are you mad?"
- >"Don't worry, your shuttle is going to leave a little something in orbit around that planet to relay the communications. It's going to send it the nearest system we have a station, and go from there."
- "Oh. Awesome, thanks. Alright, see ya."
- >With that, you turn to leave, but notice something from the balcony
- >One of the guys had an odd looking helmet on, and it was projecting a :3 in front of it
- >The other guy starts screaming at him
- >"Dammit, would you cut that out!"
- >...what the hell
- >You've seen enough, time to get out of here
- >You head back downstairs and out of the building, to make your way back to the new space-pad sticking off the side of Sanctuary in front of Scooter's shop
- >When you approach, you can see a small shuttle manifest out of a little machine that Scooter was standing next to
- >When he's done he walks off the pad and back toward this shop, but not before noticing you
- >"Catch a ride, vault hunter!" he shouts enthusiastically
- "Uhh.. what?"
- >"Got my new ride all set up there for ya, course set to that there planet yer headin' to."
- "Oookay, thanks, man."
- >"Aw man no need to thank me, just find that vault and kick some Hyperion tail while yer at it!"
- "That's the plan, if they even show up anyway."
- >Scooter taps his wrench on his forehead, like some kind of salute, and heads back to his garage
- "Alright, let's get going, this could take a while." you say to yourself
- >You walk up onto the pad and open up the shuttle
- >Fairly spacious, it'll work well enough for you
- >Almost looks like this thing could split apart though, and the front of the cockpit was very well armored, even had some small thrusters on the front
- >Odd
- >Oh well, as long as it gets you there
- >You hop on in and close the cockpit
- >Pretty simple flight controls it seems
- >And sure enough, the destination was set in the nav computer
- >Suddenly, a voice comes over your communicator
- >"Don't worry about piloting that thing, it's got a mean autopilot. Just press the launch button and it'll do the rest."
- >Well gee, thanks Lilith
- >Sounds like you'll get to relax on the way there
- >So of course you press the comically-large green launch button and the shuttle takes off
- >Once you're through the atmosphere and off Pandora, the shuttle takes some time positioning itself properly before activating the warp drive and speeding off to your destination
- >You look over the cockpit some more to see if there was anything interesting in here
- >You find a small compartment with a little sign on it
- >There's a picture of a taco on it
- >It reads 'Every ride comes with a complimentary Pimento Taco'
- >...wat
- >You open the compartment, and sure enough, there's a fucking taco inside of it
- >Warm and everything, like it was just freshly made
- >What in the actual fuck?
- >On second thought, you don't wanna know
- >It smelled and looked pretty damn good though
- >As soon as you grab it, the compartment starts talking to you
- >"Enjoy your complimentary Pimentaco!"
- >It was Scooter's voice
- >Pimentaco?
- >Clever
- >It was pretty good though
- >You noticed the nav computer say it would be almost half a day until you reach your destination
- >Time for a long nap then
- ----
- >In time, your shuttle breaks out of warp and you spot a nice looking garden planet in front of you
- >It was very colorful
- >Kinda reminded you of Earth, it even had what looked like one single big grey dusty rock of a moon
- >The shuttle makes its way closer to the planet, getting into its outer orbit
- >The thrusters power down and parts of the shuttle begin to fold out
- >Solar panels and large antenna mostly
- >Was this thing going to act like a small satelite?
- >That's pretty cool
- >"Multiple Hyperion satelites detected" comes from your nav computer
- "Wonderful..."
- >You check the map, and you can spot just a few small ones
- >They're definitely here, but probably only have a really small force so far
- >Probably nothing you should worry about then
- >Hmm, don't see much in the way of civilization down there
- >Upon further inspection, the small part of the planet in your view that's dark seems to have a city or two
- >You can faintly see light coming from a couple areas
- >Before you have much time to inspect any further, your shuttle begins aiming toward the planet
- >You hear things moving within the ship, latches coming undone, pressure releasing
- >Soon your cockpit is launched from the shuttle and you're dropping through the atmosphere
- "Ooohhh ffuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!"
- >You continue to scream in excitement and fear as your pod comes down on what looks to be a small village
- >Before long the lower thrusters kick in, slowing your movement
- >Of course the pod still creates a small crater when it lands
- >Right in the middle of this little town too
- >Fan-fucking-tastic
- >The pod runs some atmospheric checks, to determine o2 levels and such
- >You're surprised how clean the air seems to be by these readings
- >Once the shuttle deems the planet safe, it opens up
- >You emerge from the pod and take a look around, taking out your trusty Jacobs assault rifle in the process just in case
- >There are countless little multi-colored horses staring at you
- >Okay, what the fuck?
- >"It's another human!" one of them screams
- >Seriously?
- >That thing did not just fucking talk
- >Out of nowhere, a purple horse appears in front of you
- >It had a horn, like it was a unicorn or something
- >Yep, just keep getting weirder
- >Please, this is great
- >"Don't come any closer human, you're kind aren't welcome here!" it says as it's horn begins to glow
- >You gotta be kidding
- "I mean you no harm little horse-"
- >"P0ny! How many times do we have to tell you people, we're p0nies! Horse is offensive to us."
- "Oh, well I'm really fucking sorry then, I only just got here and haven't seen any of you before. I'm just here to look for something, and I have to find it before Hyperion does."
- >The p0ny stares into your eyes for a moment
- >"So, you're telling me you're not with those Hyperion humans?"
- "Hell no. They kinda have evil intentions, and I plan on stopping them."
- >The glow around it's horn fades away
- >"Hmm.. Do you mind coming with me then so I can ask you some questions?"
- "Sure, why the hell not? I guess I'll have some for you too then."
- >The purple unicorn begins walking away up the road, and you follow
