Apparently, no-one else in the Circle of Solars realised that the giant network of Catacombs underneath Chaya housing Cultists was a very, very dangerous thing. Neither does Tempest, but he just has an Adventurin' itch to scratch. Luckily, in a bright insight of Wisdom, Shi taught Tempest how to read. Tempest used this newfound information to take a gander at Soul's notes. CATACO
[01:51] <Clarence|ST> CATACOMBS UNDERNEATH THE COUNTRY, HERE I COME.
[01:51] <Clarence|ST> Though, the only lead Soul had was that the entrance is possibly somewhere kindof in the Temple district of Mo Ha sortof.
06[01:53] * Tempest prowls through the catacombs of Chaya, searching for CULTIST SCUM and LOOT
[01:54] <Clarence|ST> Action Interrupted: Prowling through Catacombs. Reason: Where is the entrance i dont know
06[01:54] * Tempest enters the catacombs, cursing fowl gods who would lead him astray
06[01:55] * Tempest then begins to PROWL LIKE CRAZY
[01:55] <Clarence|ST> Action Interrupted: Entering Catacombs. Reason: Where is the entrance i dont know
06[01:59] * Tempest PROWLS across the tops of the temple district, leaping from roof to roof with vigor and an unquenchable passion of the heart. He spies what may or may not be the entrance to THE FABLED CATACOMBS
[01:59] <Clarence|ST> However, what you DO know about is the Temple Disctrict of Chaya. Like the rest of Chaya, it's rectangular, logical, orderly, and every Chayan seems to move through it like ants, moving to what needs fixing, repainting, replanting, etcetera. Their mutually beneficial culture really is a wonder to behold. In this Temple District, there are many shrines to the Radiolari Gods, and you eventually stumble upon the most l
[01:59] <Clarence|ST> and you eventually stumble upon the most likely entrance to the super secret catacombs; the Cemetary.
[02:03] <Clarence|ST> And after a bit of searching, you find the most likely entrance, A surprisingly conspicuous Mausoleum. It's rather dank in here, but still bizarrely cozy. Stupid Chayan Architecture. There are no further entrances, but there are several FLOWER SHAPED KNICK-KNACKS, TORCHES, and CONSPICUOUSLY POTRUDING BRICKS.
06[02:05] * Tempest fiddles with said bricks, presumably producing some manner of appropriate effect.
[02:06] <Clarence|ST> The fiddling slightly jostles the bricks in their slots, but otherwise does nothing.
06[02:06] * Tempest pushes the bricks inwards.
[02:08] <Clarence|ST> They be pushed. The somehow mechanical stone architecture lets a decorated wall part away. In front of Tempest is a maple-wood door, with brass handle.
06[02:08] * Tempest opens said door
[02:09] <Clarence|ST> The door is opened. Another, slightly smaller door is revealed, made of oak-wood, with silver handle.
06[02:10] * Tempest is getting tired of opening doors
06[02:10] * Tempest opens the door, but sneakily
[02:11] <Clarence|ST> The door is opened. You have a +3 sneak bonus against the next door, a rather small, ornately carved pine-wood door, with marble handle.
06[02:11] * Tempest OPENS THE DOOR.
[02:12] <Clarence|ST> It reveals a small trapdoor inlaid to stone. It looks like you would only barely be able to fit through that trap door if it was opened. If you're curious, the trap door is made of synthetic re-constituted wood fibers and the handle is plastic.
06[02:13] * Tempest stares at the damn thing until it opens. WHICH IT DOES.
[02:13] <Clarence|ST> IT OPENS. Luckily, there is no door behind it.
[02:13] <Clarence|ST> It is a passage.
[02:13] <Clarence|ST> A passage larger than you can squeeze through, very very luckily.
06[02:13] * Tempest squeezes down the passage
06[02:16] * Tempest SPIES his surroundings with his EYES, hoping to find something besides a door.
[02:16] <Clarence|ST> Tempest squeezes through the passage, and his feet safely land on stone-tiled catacomb floors. Finally, some catacomb diving! The only sources of light available are two torches to either side of him. They are wooden, with skull insignia where the flame rests. Obvious exits are North, East, West, and Southerly Tiny Passage.
06[02:17] * Tempest heads EAST. THE DIRECTION OF INTRIGUE.
[02:19] <Clarence|ST> So much walking. But you live for this shit, as claustrophobic areas comfort you like a mother's womb. But goddamn that's alot of walking. Eventually, you happen across a whole lot of DECORATED JARS laid into the walls.
06[02:20] * Tempest looks inside one of the jars
[02:21] <Clarence|ST> Ash. They be cremation jars.
[02:22] <Clarence|ST> There seem to be chicken bones in the jar.
06[02:22] * Tempest breaks all the jars.
[02:22] <Clarence|ST> They all lay smashed and broken on the ground. Congratulations, you sure showed those jars who's boss.
[02:23] <Clarence|ST> The LOUD NOISES you made however are very very loud
[02:23] <Clarence|ST> Tempest hears footsteps running towards him, from the direction he was walking in before he succumbed to his urges to break things.
[02:23] <Tempest> Uh
06[02:26] * Tempest slips into the shadows in an instant, clinging to the wall in hopes of avoiding attention
[02:35] <Clarence|ST> Tempest finds a convenient crevice to hide himself in, and hides away from the pair of men wielding torches that stop at the broken Jars.
[02:37] <Clarence|ST> "Aw. Aw man."
[02:37] <Clarence|ST> "All these broken Jars."
06[02:37] * Tempest observes the actions of the cultists IN SILENCE
[02:37] <Clarence|ST> "Fuck. Who would even DO that?"
[02:37] <Clarence|ST> "All those restless dead."
[02:37] <Clarence|ST> "Our boss is going to be pissed."
06[02:38] * Tempest SNICKERS IN UTTER SILENCE
[02:39] <Clarence|ST> The cultists sigh. "Alright, Benny. Get the brush & pan, I'll get the super glue."
06[02:42] * Tempest stalks Benny on his way to the dustpan storage place, hoping to find MORE THAN MERE DUSTPANS
[02:43] <Clarence|ST> You start to pity the Cultist, as his trek to the dustpan storage is really, really, really long, and really really winding.
[02:43] <Clarence|ST> It's amazing he can even remember the topography of the area.
[02:47] <Clarence|ST> He finds the Cleaning Storage, and nearby is a Map of the immediate area.
06[02:57] * Tempest emerges from the shadows and draws his glorious glass bow with eery silence, failing to disturb a single mote of dust with his movement. He knock a frog crotch arrow against the side and pulls back tight on the bow string. One shot, one kill.
[03:08] <Clarence|ST> Fthoo-SKLWRCH. Right in the back of the neck, the Cultist flumps forward onto the cold tiles.
[03:08] <Clarence|ST> Blood starts trickling from his rather violent yet elegant wound.
06[03:09] * Tempest mops up the blood with his robe
06[03:09] * Tempest notes that this is the Cultist's robe.
[03:11] <Clarence|ST> The black cultist robe is soaked in red cultist blood.
[03:11] <Clarence|ST> The map of the area is still on the wall.
06[03:12] * Tempest fancies a handy disguise from the cultist's robe, both stylish and form-fittingly indistinguishable from the other robes if anyone asks. He does this whilst observing the map too.
[03:15] <Clarence|ST> The map is rather long and intricate, as catacombs usually are.
[03:18] <Clarence|ST> Places of note are: Medical bay, Church of Existential Despair, Church of the Hate of Eternal Sorrow, Church of Larry, Mess Hall, and Portal to the Underworld.
[03:18] <Clarence|ST> The Portal to the Underworld is very, very deep in
06[03:19] * Tempest quite obviously heads to the Portal after memorising the way there.
[03:24] <Clarence|ST> The walk is uninteresting, except for the looming feeling of suspense.
[03:24] <Clarence|ST> The door to the Portal to the Underworld are very, very, VERY large double doors.
[03:26] <Clarence|ST> They're very, very dark and ornate.
[03:27] <Clarence|ST> Lots of skull & bone motif.
06[03:28] * Tempest opens the door with confidence and panache as to avoid suspicion.
[03:29] <Clarence|ST> Holy shit this is impressive
[03:29] <Clarence|ST> You open the double doors to an excessively large underground ampitheatre.
[03:30] <Clarence|ST> There is a giant stone & bone ring in the center.
06[03:31] * Tempest shuts the double doors behind him
[03:31] <Clarence|ST> The shut with an ominous echoing slam.
[03:32] <Clarence|ST> You hear a small crunching sound somewhere to the right of you, in the stands.
06[03:33] * Tempest turns towards the crunching sound with a FROZEN SCREAM ON HIS FACE
[03:34] <Clarence|ST> It's a tall man with long white hair in a martial arts uniform sitting down, leg on his knee, munching on a bag of popcorn. Or at least, it would be a bag of popcorn if they wern't rat heads.
[03:34] <Clarence|ST> "I can hardly wait for the show. Can you?"
[03:35] <Tempest> "I can sympathise, comrade"
[03:35] <Tempest> "It certainly won't be a show to miss"
[03:35] <Clarence|ST> "I'm not your comrade, SunChild."
[03:36] <Tempest> "Oh god"
[03:37] <Tempest> "So you saw right through it?"
[03:37] <Clarence|ST> "It's a bloody rag. Of course I, the Overseer of Glory Unsurpassed, could see through such a... pathetic ruse." crunch, crunch.
[03:38] <Tempest> "It's totally not pathetic"
[03:38] <Tempest> "What is it that you want then?"
[03:38] <Tempest> "And who are you?"
[03:40] <Clarence|ST> "What I want is everything dead and gone."
[03:40] <Clarence|ST> "And I just told you who I am."

[03:40] <Tempest> "Well why in Sol's name would you want everything gone?"
[03:41] <Clarence|ST> He laughs once. "To see it all gone."
[03:42] <Tempest> "Seems kind of pointless don't you think?"
[03:42] <Clarence|ST> "Existance is pointless. It's just one cycle of pain & suffering after the next." Crunch Crunch.
[03:42] <Tempest> "Although I presume you have some witty retort based on 'the point of it all.'"
[03:42] <Tempest> "Pain and suffering?"
[03:43] <Clarence|ST> "Life is nothing but that. We're being generous by trying to end it all."
[03:43] <Tempest> "Surely, the good of Creation outweighs such things."
[03:43] <Clarence|ST> "Ha. The Good of creation?"
[03:43] <Clarence|ST> "What good is the realm that stabs you in the heart and watches you die?"
[03:44] <Clarence|ST> "What good is the realm that tears your only son from you and sends him off to war?"
[03:44] <Clarence|ST> "What good is the realm where thousands die of sickness each day?"
[03:44] <Tempest> "Were what you say to be true actually true, would those you seek to kill have any problem with death?"
[03:44] <Tempest> "Would they welcome death and oblivion with open arms?"
[03:45] <Clarence|ST> "When they're properly educated, yes."
[03:45] <Clarence|ST> Crunch crunch.
[03:46] <Tempest> "Who's to say the things you teach are proper?"
[03:46] <Tempest> "This may be true through your own warped lens, but I say it's wrong"
[03:48] <Clarence|ST> He stands up, and cracks his neck. "Then prove me wrong. Prove that the Void that calls is powerless when the armies of the Underworld itself march forward into creation."
[03:49] <Clarence|ST> "I COULD kill you now, but I'd rather things be made more... Interesting."
[03:49] <Clarence|ST> "Tell your friends that something greater than hell is coming."
[03:50] <Clarence|ST> "They are going to love this surprise." his lips curl into a grin.
[03:50] <Tempest> "I will leave now, Overseer."
[03:50] <Tempest> "But when I return"
[03:50] <Tempest> "I will not return alone"
[03:50] <Clarence|ST> "Try to relieve more of our faithful followers of their lives."
[03:51] <Clarence|ST> "You'd be doing us a favour."
[03:51] <Clarence|ST> He sits back down, and resumes his munching & crunching.
[03:51] <Tempest> "I would not give you the satisfaction"
06[03:51] * Tempest turns and begins to leave the room
[03:53] <Clarence|ST> "Oh, one more thing."
[03:53] <Tempest> "Hm?"
[03:53] <Clarence|ST> "Give Gandr my regards."
[03:54] <Tempest> "I'll make sure of it"
06[03:54] * Tempest leaves the room and proceeds to sneak out of the catacombs.
