[16:34] * Vera strides cheerfully up to the Baron's representative. "Hi!"
[16:35] * Strifer trots up next to Vera, eyeing the representative up and down. Giving a flat look.
[16:35] <@Somber> The unicorn gave them a firm, no nonsense nod, looking from one to the next and then replying.  "Greetings.  I am Lieutennant Pira, duly tasked by the baron to maintain the safety and security of Costa Del Sol from its enemies."
[16:38] * Strifer smirks back. "Ye.. Cheers for the drink and all that. Best way to maintain saftey, keep everyone piss drunk, heh."
[16:38] * Vera smiles winsomely, "Aww, aren't you a peach! It's awful nice to meet the duly appointed representative of the Baron! What can we, the Outsiders, do fer you?"
[16:38] <@Somber> The white unicorn mare had a red and orange striped mane.  Her eyes flashed daringly as she looked from one to the next.  "As you may know, the Baron has had increasing difficulty maintaining order in Conta Del Sol.  We need your help restoring the city to our control."
[16:40] * Vera "Well shoot ma'am, it's awful thoughtful of you to think so highly of ours abilities! But, ah, how did it come to escape your control, if y'don't mind tellin'?"
[16:41] * Strifer waves a impatient hoof, motioning the mare to go on, glancing at Vera.. That pony could talk. A lot.
[16:43] <@Somber> "The Colonel's rebellion has increasingly drawn more and more of our power and authority from protecting the communities as we should.  It allowed an unscrupulous merchant the opportunity to steal and frame innocent civilians.  The Colonel's rebellion has gone on long enough.  Costa Del Sol deserves safety and security.  We have it on good authority that the
[16:43] <@Somber> Colonel is bringing in reserve commandos to sieze the town by force.  We'd like your help in preventing that.
[16:47] * Strifer as Pira speaks: reaches back to her saddlebags and pulls out the bottle again, slowly drinking. Her smirk widening for each swallow. Rubbing her muzzle with a forehoof. "Ya mean killing a couple of ponies for your sake? Aaaand we would get something, yes?"
[16:48] * Vera scrunches up her face in a contemplative fashion. "Well gosh, that sounds serious. You're really sure the mighty Baron's army can't fend off a bunch of rebellious hooligans without our help?"
[16:48] <@Somber> She smiles a little.  "Killing would certainly be appreciated.  I know you've noted our forces are not the finest in the island at the moment.  Conscripts are, at best, placeholders for more talented groups like yourself.  But it wouldn't be required."
[16:51] * Strifer shakes the bottle, making its contents swirl. "Soo.. Say that we do this thing, what would it be in it fur us. Ya wont fucking buy us with a bottle of booze."
[16:51] * Vera waves a hoof disarmingly in an 'aw, shucks' fashion. "Oh, you flatter us! But we need a little time to think about it. Getting involved with the Baron's army sounds like a fine idea to me, but I can't speak for the rest of the group!" She looks thoughtful. "Hey, I know! Why don't you tell me what the pay is and maybe I can convince the others?"
[16:51] * Strifer nodnods at Vera.
[16:52] <Strifer> "yeah, the pay."
[16:52] <@Somber> "Your words carry weight now.  A few comments to some neutral parties will greatly help alleviate doubt in the town's future under Baronial rule.  That would be the least we would ask.  And as such would carry a modest gratuity of brass buttons.  300."
[16:56] <@Somber> "If you are willing to advocate on our behalf, we would be comfortable with going into detail on other ways you can assist us."
[16:58] * Vera "Well gosh, that would be really appreciated!"
[16:59] * Strifer shrugs. "I aint promising nothing ya know.." She leans forward, bottle still in hoof. "But if I did say do what it is you're asking, where can I find you to get these buttons..?"
[17:00] <@Somber> "My headquarters is located at the train depot.  A runner can get word to me there."  She gives a list with five names on it.
[17:03] <@Somber> "It's imperitive this is done soon.  The colonel will waste no time conscripting and forcing these ponies into his army if he's allowed to establish a base here.  Our reprisal would be... strenuous." Pyra said, a small ball of fire poofing to life beside her head.
[17:04] * Strifer glances at the sudden fireball, then she presses the bottle up against Pyra's chest. "Here ya go, thanks for the drink, but I think you'll need it more then I do."
[17:04] * Vera doesn't seem taken aback by the implicit threat of exploding the town if the Colonel takes over. "Right, we'll try to avoid that."
[17:06] <@Somber> Pyra takes it with her magic, smiling at Strifer.  "Well... I hope you'll consider your side carefully..."  Then she takes a long pull off the bottle and blow's a pale blue flame into the air, before letting both poof away.  "It'll be interesting working with you, that's for sure." she says with a smirk at Strifer.
[17:07] * Strifer grins wickedly at teh sight of this flame. "Now that's cool..."
[17:08] <@Somber> "Mother always did like playing with fire," she said as she sat back.
[17:09] * Vera "Yeah, but you gotta be careful. Play with fire, get burnt."
[17:11] * Strifer snickers. "All I manage is to get blown up, guess that's something." With a louder snort at Veras comment she adds. "Ahh fuck it, maybe we can have ea drink later, Pyra. Better have a chat with the rest of my crew." The last said with an eyeroll.
[17:11] <@Somber> "Getting burned is half the fun.  Burning back is the other half."  she said with a laugh. "Sure.  Let me know.  Contrary to what folks might think, I don't want this town burnt to ashes if we can help it."
[17:12] * Vera turns to face Strifer. "I can teach you not how to blow yourself up if you want. But later. Right now we need to meet back with the others."
[17:16] * Splendid waves
[17:17] * Somber levitates strifer and hauls her into her bedroom for a hot time.
[17:18] * Vera shrugs, and returns to the others.
