A Peaceful Goodbye

>You try to speak through tears.
"Rarity?"

>The clock's ticking is a rhythmic beat.
>As you lay on the couch, three knocks are heard on the door.
>You sit up and look at it.

>The door swings open and Fluttershy is standing there with what looks like a fishing net.

>You take the shy mare's hoof in your hand and she drops the fishing net.
>Rubbing your thumb gently against the bottom of her hoof, you walk out with her.
"What do you want to do?"
>When you look at her, you see tears streaming down her face.
"Fluttershy?"
>She wipes them away with her free leg.
>"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy."
>She gives you a sincere smile and you return it.
"So, what do you want to do?"
>"Who, me? I don't mind."
"Come on, there has to be something."
>"Well, I've always wanted to watch the sunset with you..."
>You look up at the orange sky.
"We better get a move on then. Did you have a spot in mind?"
>She nods and leads you down the path to her house.
>The walk isn't far, and she takes you around to the back.
>Sitting down under a tree in her yard gives you both a plain view of the horizon.
>Some animals gather around and relax with you.
>Fluttershy lays her head against your arm.
>"This... This isn't some kind of joke, is it?"
"Of course not."
>You wrap your arm around her and she leans into your side.
>She lets out a long and happy sigh.
"Fluttershy."
>"Yes?"
>You point out to the horizon.
"Look."
>The sun slides down and brings the light with it.
>Darkness quickly follows and the stars sparkle into view.
>Fluttershy looks up at you.
>You look down at her.
>The both of you lean in and share a small kiss.
>She practically leaps into your arms and wraps your head in the tighest hug you've ever received.
>"I love you Anon."
>You wrap your arms around her as well.
"I love you too..."
>Her heart's pumping is a rhythmic beat.
