  1. 18.07.14 @ 22:12:48 <Darkhax> Lord_Ralex Loram says that you will 100% agree with him. http://www.minecraftforum.net/cp/reports/271575
  2. 18.07.14 @ 22:14:30 <Lord_Ralex> he is an idiot
  3. 18.07.14 @ 22:14:32 <Lord_Ralex> but
  4. 18.07.14 @ 22:14:35 <Lord_Ralex> master is being a dick
  5. 18.07.14 @ 22:14:37 <Lord_Ralex> remove his posts
  6. 18.07.14 @ 22:14:54 <Lord_Ralex> (posts, check the previous page)
  7. 18.07.14 @ 22:15:06 <Lord_Ralex> might as well informal him asking him to not start wars
  8. 18.07.14 @ 22:16:31 <bl4ckscor3> Darkhax, 99% >.> :P
  9. 18.07.14 @ 22:21:45 <Darkhax> Lord_Ralex, he does not seem to be causing a problem. He made an updated version of some modloader stuff for forge, The only reason his work was even plugged on the forge page was because several users were looking for a 1.6.4 port. It was obviously not done to start a war and besides Loram nobody is complaining. It would be wrong to hurt the community and those who are trying to advance it just because a few
  10. 18.07.14 @ 22:21:45 <Darkhax> people get offended when someone mentions forge.
  11. 18.07.14 @ 22:22:05 <Lord_Ralex> Darkhax, his posts are all "i ported it to forge"
  12. 18.07.14 @ 22:22:23 <Darkhax> Yes, he does say that, but look at the contect.
  13. 18.07.14 @ 22:22:33 <Lord_Ralex> which on modloader, is a) stupid, b) going to start something, (which it did)
  14. 18.07.14 @ 22:23:31 <Darkhax> context
  15. 18.07.14 @ 22:23:34 <Darkhax> *
  16. 18.07.14 @ 22:23:42 <Lord_Ralex> http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1272333-risugamis-mods-updated?page=1667#c33338
  17. 18.07.14 @ 22:24:24 <Darkhax> Not sure what you are pointing out
  18. 18.07.14 @ 22:24:47 <Lord_Ralex> he advertises his own fork...?
  19. 18.07.14 @ 22:24:52 <Lord_Ralex> then gloats on it being forge
  20. 18.07.14 @ 22:24:56 <Lord_Ralex> (which risu is a ML)
  21. 18.07.14 @ 22:25:03 <Lord_Ralex> and now jacking the topic
  22. 18.07.14 @ 22:29:45 <Darkhax> I don't see it that way. His post is completely on topic, he mentions that it uses forge because it's true that his port does use forge, that's something anything the user of his port would need to know. As I stated earlier I think that to delete his posts would only hurt the modloader community.
  23. 18.07.14 @ 22:30:42 <Lord_Ralex> >modloader community
  24. 18.07.14 @ 22:30:45 <Lord_Ralex> >does not use it
  25. 18.07.14 @ 22:30:50 <Lord_Ralex> >mocks it, says to use forge
  26. 18.07.14 @ 22:31:00 <Lord_Ralex> how is removing his posts hurting ML?
  27. 18.07.14 @ 22:32:12 <Darkhax> Because modloader is dead, the community has had no growth for a long time. His work is not as traditional as it does not use modloader but it's allowing the community to use risugamis work in a newer version of minecraft.
  28. 18.07.14 @ 22:33:33 <Darkhax> And based on the amount of update spam on that topic, it's clear the the community would like this.
  29. 18.07.14 @ 22:33:39 <Lord_Ralex> so, it helps the community that uses biospheres
  30. 18.07.14 @ 22:33:53 <Lord_Ralex> we removed RP forks too, how is this one allowed?
  31. 18.07.14 @ 22:34:03 <Lord_Ralex> RP forks that used RP to advertise on *
  32. 18.07.14 @ 22:36:25 <Darkhax> The author of RP stated that they were working on it still. The status of the project has never been dead. And we can see that is true as she is working on a new red power. The case for modloader is completely different as Risu has stated on irc many times he has lost interest in the project.
  33. 18.07.14 @ 22:39:55 <Darkhax> Also I don't know if you can call this a fork. It covers the same niche as risu's biospheres however until we can confirm that the code is the same or at least derived we can't consider it a fork.
  34. 18.07.14 @ 22:40:07 <Lord_Ralex> so
  35. 18.07.14 @ 22:40:08 <Lord_Ralex> confirm
  36. 18.07.14 @ 22:42:49 <Darkhax> He does not appear to have a port on his mcf profile.
  37. 18.07.14 @ 22:43:06 <Lord_Ralex> what?
  38. 18.07.14 @ 22:46:03 <Darkhax> I looked through his started topics, he does not appear to have a post containing a download or information about biosphers or modloader ports.
  39. 18.07.14 @ 22:46:18 <Lord_Ralex> <Lord_Ralex> http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1272333-risugamis-mods-updated?page=1667#c33338
  40. 18.07.14 @ 22:46:26 <bl4ckscor3> Darkhax, i think ralex meant decompiling both of the versions and comparing the code
  41. 18.07.14 @ 22:46:46 <Darkhax> Ah, he does not have a new topic.
  42. 18.07.14 @ 22:47:08 <Lord_Ralex> just so i get it, you did see this post, right?
  43. 18.07.14 @ 22:51:04 <Darkhax> I did see the post, I was just thinking he would have a seperate thread.
  44. 18.07.14 @ 22:52:28 <Darkhax> As for the source, the source has many similarities as both mods acomplish the same thing, adding new world types is handled by vanilla so the methods for providing information are the same.
  45. 18.07.14 @ 22:53:43 <Darkhax> As for the actual generating of the spheres, there are again some similarities as there is only so many ways to represent a list or the math for generating a sphere. That being said there are some key differences in the way everything is handled.
  46. 18.07.14 @ 22:54:08 <bl4ckscor3> might be the difference between forge and mk
  47. 18.07.14 @ 22:54:10 <bl4ckscor3> ml*
  48. 18.07.14 @ 22:54:32 <Darkhax> No, there is no difference between the way it would work.
  49. 18.07.14 @ 22:54:42 <bl4ckscor3> well what do i know \o/
  50. 18.07.14 @ 22:55:02 <Darkhax> To be honest you could rewrite the main mod file to use forge for the initial calls and registry and the same generation code would work.
  51. 18.07.14 @ 22:55:37 <Darkhax> They are both using the same mc source. ML does not have a different source code for minecraft.
  52. 18.07.14 @ 22:56:00 <Darkhax> Actually, you may remember fml could load modloader mods because that's how similar they are.
  53. 18.07.14 @ 22:56:38 <Darkhax> CPW deprecated that because it was nolonger valid after 1.6.2 because modloader did not update.
  54. 18.07.14 @ 22:56:50 <bl4ckscor3> yeah right
  55. 18.07.14 @ 22:57:05 <Darkhax> So it is clear that there was some inspiration from the original but it was written from the ground up.
  56. 18.07.14 @ 22:58:48 <Darkhax> I think rather than infracting him and deleting his posts (killing his project) I send him a pm asking him to create a new thread for his mod, so his project can stay alive put all the people who are hell bent on using modlaoder and modloader only mods don't have to deal with it on the ml thread.
  57. 18.07.14 @ 22:59:02 <Darkhax> And then we delete his posts from the ml post.
  58. 18.07.14 @ 22:59:36 <Lord_Ralex> so wait
  59. 18.07.14 @ 22:59:43 <Lord_Ralex> basically, still deleting
  60. 18.07.14 @ 22:59:48 <Lord_Ralex> just how he is told is diff
  61. 18.07.14 @ 23:00:12 <Darkhax> Basically, yeah.
  62. 18.07.14 @ 23:00:39 <Darkhax> There is no need to give him an official warning here. I feel he has done nothing wrong.
  63. 18.07.14 @ 23:00:54 <Lord_Ralex> so, thread jacking, (trying to start a flame war between ML and Forge based on his lovely posts), and advertising a non-official fork is not wrong?
  64. 18.07.14 @ 23:01:44 <Darkhax> That stuff is all wrong however that is not what has happened here.
  65. 18.07.14 @ 23:02:26 <Lord_Ralex> He is using the OP topic to advertise his fork, am I correct
  66. 18.07.14 @ 23:02:42 <Lord_Ralex> This is like Jake making a server, shutting it down, and Bob posting saying "hey, join my server now"
  67. 18.07.14 @ 23:02:53 <Lord_Ralex> How is that remotely acceptable
  68. 18.07.14 @ 23:03:08 <Lord_Ralex> It will now derail the topic since the OP is not related to the conversation going on, nor was it in the OP to start with
  69. 18.07.14 @ 23:04:29 <Lord_Ralex> There is a long standed history of Forge conversation on ML being a no-no, so how is a "forge port" going to be acceptable?
  70. 18.07.14 @ 23:08:56 <Darkhax> I think I have made it apparent I am a bit to invested into this report. I don't feel that this is the right thing for us to do but if this is what you feel is right then I will stand down. For obvious reasons I would prefer not to be the one to handle this report.
  71. 18.07.14 @ 23:09:43 <Lord_Ralex> Did we not use the same policy on RP?
  72. 18.07.14 @ 23:10:38 <Darkhax> I was not here for RP
  73. 18.07.14 @ 23:10:57 <Lord_Ralex> really? i thought you were
  74. 18.07.14 @ 23:11:13 <Darkhax> I joined mid october 2013
