► Do you use a keyboard or a game-pad?

I use a game-pad.


► What game-pad do you use?

These days I use an Xbox 360 game-pad, together with a custom driver. In the past I used to use strictly Logitech gamepads (started with Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, then Rumblepad 2 and also Dual Action) but I couldn't keep playing with them because they got too demanding for my wrist.
But luckily the Xbox 360 game-pad works great for me, especially when using a custom driver.


► Custom driver?

Yes I use a custom driver so that I can customize the game-pad much more. The most important change I can do with it is the ability to change the analog dead-zone to act more like a square instead of a circle. That way you won't have the problem of accidentally pressing too much up or down so that the car doesn't steer as much. Basically it acts more like the old Logitech game-pads which I'm used to.

Installation-guide from the jonnys-place-page:

"to install it, go to the Device Manager [in control panel], select the 360 controller (should be under Common controllers or some such shit), and refresh [update] the device driver. While doing this, select no to windows update driver search (next>), on the next screen select "install from list", on the next screen select "select from list" instead of searching, and on that screen click on the "have disk" button. Pick the *.inf file from this alternate driver THERE. It will install."

In addition, you may have to restart your computer and also plug out and plug in your game pad again.


► What settings do you use for your game-pad?

In-game:
Sensitivity is at default (1). Dead-zone is at 0.

► When did you start playing TrackMania?

In early 2006 shortly after the release of TrackMania Nations ESWC.


► Are you still active as a competitive player?

My focus has instead shifted to a more community-oriented role with casting and hosting events, as well as making 'TM NEWS' and other videos which I thoroughly enjoy. I do however still participate in untrained events now and then.


► Why don't you play in TM Masters True Talent Cup anymore?

I took a decision to no longer participate in that cup since I disagree with the people taking care of the maps also playing in the cup at the same time. From a competitive aspect I find that wrong as it creates an unfair situation seeing as the maps are supposed to be unknown for everyone. The organizers don't see any problems with continue to do it this way so I simply decided not to play in the cup anymore since it just doesn't feel right to me and it's not something I want to support.


► Can I add you as a buddy in-game?

Sure go ahead, my login is 'frostbeule' for both TMNF and TM2.


► Are you still boycotting ESWC?

No I'm not. We made peace and I've moved on.


► Can I join Team Acer?

No, we only recruit players on our own initiative. But if you have good tournament results then that will for sure be something that catch our eyes.
