Titel: The Bitterness of Korra

The Legend of Korra finished and haven't watched half the episodes, but because of massive posts like Tumblr and such, ending sort of got spoiled to me and doesn't feel like I need to anymore.

Here is my thoughts about Korra, their relationship part of the whole serie felt forced and gimmicky, felt betrayed in the rest of the seasons after season 1.
My own problems and issues, but when thinking more about it, seems most were poorly put together and not really adding anything to the serie as a whole, at least from how I see it story wise.

So if you look away from most of the major love relationships in the serie, stories seem to work better, but not much, effects from previous series weren't carried well over to new seasons and was done in quick fixes that made it seem "Well whatever, what is done is done".

I think one of the major reasons I was too emotionally invested in the relationship of the characters is because I got into an argument with someone over about how Mako and Korra would be together because of a silly reason like their elements being water and fire, nothing serious, but after that argument with how I should prove it and such, I felt vindicated for how season 1 ended and betrayed for season 2 weaken most of the characters.
So my reason for it might be I lacked proper closure for the relationships, how they broke up, came together and all that mess, didn’t feel natural for me, so that stuck with me since I saw the characters. If they had broken up in a more natural way or just broke up and didn’t come together again, I think the series and characters wouldn’t have bothered as much.

Poor writing in general.

However, rumour is that the writers' hand was forced, because they did have planned, so this could take into account for how bad many things went in the series, they might have the same ending.
Again, don't know what plans or ideas the people behind had unless they say so.

With that said, the two last acts is where they seem to pull together as for what they wanted and went.
Not sure if the Korra and Asami paring wasn’t fanservice, and same said with Mako and Korra parring.

For whatever reason, hope it wasn’t and it’s what they really wanted, but have seen where it goes the other way.
The ending being ambiguous and the comic coming out in a year, after having done what they wanted with Avatar, we’ll see what Nick and writers has planned, but pressures from different camps(fans, groups and companies), I wondering if they get the artistic freedom they want and could make a good serie out of it.

One thing I’m sad about and as such, it doesn’t have too much impact of much and it’s fine, but Korra losing muscle mass and not gaining it back.
It’s a small thing, but it’s one of those times where you think that if this was only the start, but yeah, can imagine with what Korra went through, she would lose her build.

All in all, I really way to enjoy the serie, and not for the romantic relationship stuff, but because the story is good, because the world in interest, for it’s characters and because it had a good ending.
It just seems my lingering feelings are preventing me to do so and that’s a shame.
I will still try to get the series in some collection, see if the feelings have gone and well since I do collect the artbooks, might as well collect the serie itself, right? For now I think it had a interesting effect on many people and that’s how a story should do, we can’t all think and feel alike, we will have things we can’t get answered for and that is part of the human nature.

This isn’t about bashing a serie, this is my own feelings on the matter. If they are true or not, not sure it matters, it’s just my feelings and others have theirs. That’s what makes humans interesting in many ways.

If we will see more Avatar, Korro or the Bending universe, only time will tell. I like the universe and hope to create my own that is as interesting and people invest their time in, be it negative or positive ^^
