  1. Hi Friends,
  2. This is what happened with us at Fortis Memorial Hospital, Gurgaon:
  3. My 4 year old daughter Baby Rutvi Punia was complaining of Joint pains and on 21.11.2013 we took her to Dr. Manoj Padman, Senior Consultant and HOD Orthopedics at Fortis Hospital Gurgaon and after couple of consultations he referred us to Dr. Sujata Sawhney, Paedratric Rheumatologist, Sir Gangaram Hospital, Delhi for expert opinion as there was no clinical finding of any abnormality in our child and even Dr. Sujata Sawhney found the child normal after clinical examination and so she suggested to get Complete hemogram, LDH, Uric Acid, ESR & CRP tests conducted for the baby and further made a mark that if the tests are found abnormal the bone scan be conducted.
  4. We got the tests conducted at Fortis SRL Lab, Gurgaon on 04.12.2013 and was shocked and grieved to see the report dated 4.12.2013 bearing Accession No. 0100ML000931 wherein the Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) count of the baby was noted as 610 against the biological reference range of 81 – 234 and the count was noted as High which clearly showed the test is positive which signified that the tissues in the body of the baby are breaking and that could be because of lethal diseases like hemolysis and other disorders including cancer, meningitis, encephalitis, acute pancreatitis, and HIV etc. and we were under acute mental trauma and on the basis of the report the very next day we got the bone scan done as advised and the child had to go through harmful radiations several times. The scan was absolutely normal and we were again confused about the high level of LDH in the child and again on advise of Dr. Sujata Sawhney we got the LDH test conducted again on 09.12.2013 and in the report dated 9.12.2013 bearing Accession No. 0100ML002271 wherein the Lactate Dehydrogenase count of the baby was noted as 542 against the biological reference range of 313 – 618 and which clearly showed the test is negative and condition of the baby was normal.
  5. We were again confused as which reference range is to be considered correct and we sought for clarification from the authorities at Fortis Hospital and we were made to sit and wait for long and were taken from one representative to another and when we tried to raise our voice they threatened us with the action from guards. Finally we got to meet Mr. Neeraj Prakash and sought clarification on the matter, he did not provide any clarification but only generated another report dated 9.12.2013 with the same Accession No. as 0100ML000931 wherein the reference range was revised to 313 - 618 and he did not answer any further queries about the previous report and the unnecessary subjection of the baby to harmful radiations, he simply denied to comment stating that they are a commercial organisation and work for gain and that the complainant has to bear the costs and consequences of the tests.
  6. Due to one wrong report the whole family had to undergo acute mental trauma and the child was wrongfully exposed to harmful radiations the after effects of which is still unknown and the child is still in trauma and is afraid to go to hospital as she was subjected to so many pricks.
  7. So we moved the District Court Gurgaon and prayed for criminal action against all these delinquents and the Hon’ble Court at Gurgaon has finding it a fit case has directed the police to register and investigate the matter and provide a report on or before 25.1.2014. Upon that order an FIR no. 16/2014 against Malvinder Mohan, Sanjeev K. Choudhary, Neeraj Parkash, Ritu Chadha, Nandini Vasdev, Vineet Pant, Abhinav Singhal under Sections 406, 420, 465, 468, 328, 336, 338 & 120B has been registered at PS Sushant Lok, Gurgaon.

  13. Its not personal but a fight against the malpractices done by such big institutions for their commercial gains and playing with the trust and emotions of people. We think that we are going to the best hospital and if this is what happens then whom should we trust.
  14. I am sure many of you must have borne the consequences of such wrong results or treatments and then we just let it go and our this attitude makes these big hospitals think that they can get away with anything.
  15. It is time now that we rise and show these people that if we all get together they have to mend their ways. So please support by sharing it with all your friends and also share any such experience of yours.
  16. Thank you for the support.
