  2. Title: Non-Gaming Content on Twitch
  3.
  4. Recently there has been a lot of discussion and argument about what should be and should not be allowed on twitch, resulting in things such as the ban of shirtless streams and 'sexually suggestive clothing'. Twitch is a service originally created for watching and streaming video games and things related to games such as talk shows and art, although recently it has branched out to having music services with its new Ultra stream.
  5.
  6. However, many big streamers seem to get around Twitch's rule of streaming only "Video games, board games, card games, fantasy sports, LARP games, and acceptable music content". One of the biggest offenders of this is PhantomL0rd with his drunk cooking show, featuring his girlfriend and fellow streamer Dinglederper. This show racks up tens of thousands of viewers and must catch the eye of Twitch admins, yet continues to be broadcasted and is never shut off. Although nothing is wrong with drinking on stream if you are safe, it is against the Twitch rules of conduct to be "drinking excessively", which one could definitely argue PhantomL0rd does in his cooking streams.

  8. Twitch also seems to be very selective about when they enforce the non-gaming content rule. Streams like PhantomL0rd's slip by and are not banned for breaking the ToS when they are so obviously infringing it, yet Destiny has his channel closed for 7 days simply for watching YouTube videos. This leads streamers who are punished for the rule to think they have been treated unfairly or are being targeted, leaving them frustrated with Twitch's selective moderation.
  9.
  10. In my opinion, Twitch needs to take a stand and either get rid of all non-approved non-gaming content or allow all types of media to be streamed. Without having an official, enforced stance, many streamers who are punished for breaking what is a rule are left bitter and angry at Twitch.
