  11. Biography: There was once a mighty sell sword by the name of Guiot Belrot. Whenever a dispute between nobles broke out or someone needed a man to get a dirty job done, he was the man to go to. His skill with a blade was unmatched and he quickly gained the reputation of Guiot the Red for the color he would leave battlefields. Life was good to him as he amassed a fortune on his many jobs and could live comfortably his whole life if he so chose. Then it all came crashing down when he was hired by a noble to duel against his grand uncle's champion. Guiot got cocky during the fight, his ignorance cost him an arm. As quickly as he rose to fame he had vanished into obscurity after wards. People had no use for a one armed sell sword and so he was forced into retirement despite still being in his prime. With his glory days gone, he began a life of drinking and self loathing in the Mendev reigon.

  13. One such night after drinking one too many mugs, in his drunken stupor he stuck his “sword” where he shouldn't have and a few months after the event a basket was left outside his doorstep with a baby and a note claiming the boy was his. But this boy wasn't normal, rather he had clawed fingers and a long, furry, spaded tail! All these signs pointed towards the boy being a tiefling, a demon spawn! Guiot knew that keeping the boy would be trouble, either the boy would turn violent against him or the locals would find out and declare him a hieratic for keeping a demon in his home. As he was getting ready to abandon it to the wilderness and let a warg come by and eat the small one, he felt like he couldn't do it. Guiot didn't have the heart to just leave something so young to nature, much less someone of his own blood. He took in the boy and decided to raise him as his own.

  15. So started Guiot's life as a single father in a medieval fantasy world, isn't this going to be fun? For the first few years of the boy's life they lived quite comfortably off of the gold Guiot had saved from his sell sword days. As soon as the boy could wield a blade they would leave in secret so Guiot could train the boy in the way of the sword. Surprisingly enough the boy of Guiot's blood could not wield a sword. He was too small that even with a short blade his movements were clumsy and weak. A part of Guiot was disappointed that his son would not continue his legacy but at the same time he was relieved as his son also wouldn't have to go through what he did. These sessions of training quickly turned into just letting the boy roam the forest for a few hours. From this it became apparent that the boy did have a talent for acrobatics and stealth. He could climb up trees like a monkey and even catch himself in the branches with his tail. They would often make it a game where the boy would hide in the forest and his father would search for him. Nearly all the times the boy would win due to his growing experience in how to move silently.

  17. As the boy reached his 9th year the Belrot's funds began to run low and Guiot realized he needed to find a job. Not only that but his boy was ignorant to talking with others and needed to learn for the day that Guiot was no longer around. Knowing that the boy's demonic features would likely have him outcast or even more likely killed, Guiot got to work on teaching the boy to hide his features like wearing gloves at all times and wrapping his tail around his waist. Also Guiot thought it was just about time to give the boy a name. Thinking long and hard he eventually came up to the boy and told him that from that moment on he would answer to the name Sudreth. With the times changing for them, Guiot prepared to come out of his life of seclusion. Finding a job as a blacksmith's assistant, he would work from dawn to dusk forging weapons for the crusade soldiers. The newly named Sudreth would find some companionship with the local youths that were excited to make a new friend. While shy at first Sudreth eventually lightened up to them and showed his true colors as a bright and active kid. His energetic nature lead to the other boys giving him the nickname “Giddy” The boys would always talk of adventuring and becoming a party of warriors going across the land righting all the wrongs. But as all youthful fantasies, they faded as adulthood creepped upon them. At 15 most of Sudreth's friends had turned their attention to helping the crusade effort. Sudreth on the other hand began helping his father in his line of work, because 3 hands are better than 1. On what little free time the both did have they would practice sparing like when Sudreth was young and he even managed to learn to use short blades.

  19. By Sudreth's 18th year Guiot fell ill. He was burning up with fever and the town healer couldn't do anything about it. Without being able to work and Sudreth unable to leave his father alone, their funds drained to nothing by Guiot's final day. “Keep going. You have your whole life ahead of you.” With those last words Guiot handed his son a small bag of coin and passed on. Sudreth was heart-broken as any newly orphaned son would be. Giving his father a proper burial next to their home, Surdeth retired to his home and cried. As the days went by with Surdeth's grief growing he started reminiscing about the stories his father told him of his glory days. The fame and fortune, the adventures and all the allies he made. Surdeth wanted to live out his life like his father. Taking the gold he was left with he bought equipment and set off on his journey as a rogue for hire.
