  1. Japan is not like the US. They just won't let anyone live there. Some of the requirements to even be considered are: Live in Japan for 5 years continuously(note: normal visa for US citizens are 3 months, British it's 6 - even though the US is Japan's best friend.), You must be at least 20 and mentally stable, You CANNOT have a criminal history(they may ignore minor offenses like speeding), You have to be able to economically support yourself(a college diploma is highly recommended or some sort of skill), you MUST be willing to renounce your citizenship(something I am more than happy to do), and you have to respect the Japanese constitution(You can't plot to destroy it, or join a political group that is hell bent in changing it or going against the government). ***EVEN AFTER ALL THAT, you are not guarantee to get a citizenship. There are unwritten things that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs could take in to account.***
