Harmony Backstory

Shimmering Harmony

History:
-Very shy child
-Grew up in Canterlot
-Interested in scholarly things, with very specific interests such as illumination, lenscrafting, foreign languages, architecture, history, astronomy [related to lenscrafting], vivisection/anatomy, psychology, etc.
-Became a priest of Celestia after graduating college with a doctorate in history, spent several years living as a monk at a Cathedral while attending classes, post-graduation became a librarian of the Canterlot archives as well as part-time curator of the Canterlot Museum of Natural History.
-When Sir Platinum was awoken, Princess Celestia chose Shimmering out of several possible candidates, each of whom were chosen on multiple criteria, among them historical knowledge, psychological skill, necromantic talent, and passive personality.
-After several weeks of Jumba+Pleakleying, the two more or less learned to get along. Plat saw the country, fought some Changlings, died, and then the Labyrinth opened up.

Misc:
-Shimmering Harmony is 28  years old.
-He has a mild autism disorder, the source of his high intelligence, poor social skills, and very specific hobbies [As an example, he became interested in astronomy in large part due to its relation to lenses, instead of the other way around.]
-He has a light purple coat, blue eyes, and a gray mane.
-He is an only child.
-He speaks a wide variety of languages, which due to lack of concrete lore on existing languages, I'm just going to assume is any native-to-Equestria language that happens to come up [such as Yin's Chineighse or Ashon's Germaine].
-In college he minored in psychology, and he is technically Platinum's therapist.
-He has little to no combat experience and avoids it as much as possible. During combat situations his go-to solution is to hide.
-Due to his shyness, his mannerisms tend to alternate between very simple generic responses, and a put on air of "polite conversation". He tends not to speak at all to anypony he does not personally know, which for this adventure has been mainly Platinum [off-screen] and Yin [Hurray character development].
-He is a skilled necromancer, an outgrowth of his interest in history. Before meeting Sir Platinum, he primarily used the talent in controlled interviews with historical personages.
