Background: she was born in new york, hence her american name, but moved to seoul at the age of 2. as a child, she was always taught to only focus on education and nothing else. she felt pressured, but still listened to her family. in school, she never made much friends because she was very shy and wanted to focus on nothing but school. she was usually a loner, people would say. outside of school, such as home, her mom would teach her how to act like a grown woman. her mom taught her how to cook and that was basically her hobby since she had no friends to really hang out with. as she grew up, she continued to focus on school and never really had crushes and get with boys in general. she became more open and less shy than how she was when she was young. when she was in the first year of highschool, her music teacher had talked to her about what she wanted to be. they were pretty close, because she would go up during free periods to play instruments and such. she had thought that her teacher was very good at singing and wanted to be able to be like her. she started to really like singing, even though she didn't really know how to control her vocals. her teacher was able to help her throughout the school years and talk to her family about it. they didn't really like the idea of her singing at first, but her teacher was able to convince them. but of course, she still had to focus on school. her parents had seen something about an entertainment holding auditions and thought they should tell her, since they wanted her to be happy. she auditioned and had failed. but was able to get in another year when she had tried out again.
