UNION DIVINE THEATER DATE AUCTION/RAFFLE
to finish paying for repairs after kyurem, that jerk, damaged a priceless historic monument

Here’s how I’m imagining this working thus far:

— Two major sections to the mingle, Auction and Raffle. Participating Theater characters would have top-level comments under Auction and all other characters would be raffled off. Each character would have a “bidding” or “raffle” thread, where interested parties would either call out a price or just say they’ve put X number of raffle tickets in to try and win a date with that person. They would also each have a mingle thread where they can flirt with their customers. Or discover their name on a jar and freak out. Their call.

—So what this would look like in practice: Top-level comment that says AUCTION. Under that, Haruka posts with HARUKA TENOH in the subject line. Then, she comments to her own tag twice:  creating areas for AUCTION THREAD and MINGLING THREADS. The auction thread is one giiiiant thread (threadjacking encouraged) where people place bets on the cous—er, thespian in question, interacting with their fellow bettors and with the “wares” in question. The mingling threads are more the freeform/liquid-time style RP where each subthread is considered a different encounter throughout the day - your character has come up to speak to the person being auctioned off, who is on display all day.

—The raffles themselves are like event signups. No RP involved, necessarily, just saying “Haruka buys two tickets for a date with Yuuna because she thinks it’s funny.” Raffle-ees can also have mingle portions, though.

—With player permission, characters can be signed up by friends of theirs instead of volunteering themselves. But all parties involved have to be OOCly on board for this. We would do signups this weekend, probably, or early next week.

—This event would be held Labor Day weekend OOC (so in around two weeks) and would run for about a week, after which point raffle winners would be RNG’d and the current highest bidder in the bidding threads would win a date with that character.

—Everybody can plan and post their dates accordingly, either as logs or as just one section of larger posts by their character. Their call. Minors are…I’m leaning towards “not to be auctioned off” instead of “up to the player” just for realism. Thoughts?

— Maybe a bonus third section to the mingle, Pokemon Performances? We haven’t done PokéMingle type stuff in a while so this could be cute. I’m thinking base it off like Bakerstreet-style memes like the RP Scenario Generator meme, where people would post top-levels advertising what Pokémon they want to play and then other Pokémon tag in having RNG’d in a prompt generator for a scene to be ad-libbing. So, like, Gene the Wooper could have a top-level comment, and Orpheus the Foongus would tag in after using the generator with the prompt “Gene is a detective and Orpheus is his desperate client.” Gene would then don a fedora and begin skulking around, and Orpheus would barge in dramatically. Etc.

—Is this all too complicated? Any other ideas about events that can happen as part of the fundraiser?
