  51. Well for Pyrrha, she liked Jaune because he didn't treat her like an idol, so really your character could be oblivious to it or just not make a big deal about it, so Pyrrha wouldn't be that hard to tear away fro Jaune for it i think

  53. Yeah JNPR would be a good support cast with little side bits to help you land a lady from team RWBY. Jaune would be comic relief with his "suave" ideas, Ren would show you the importance of Tidy appearances, Nora would...erm...show you how to express yourself, and Pyrrah would impart the wisdom she's learned from combat and hilariously trys to explain dating using battle terminology.

  55. As for Nora, she always says that she and Ren aren't 'together-together', so after hanging out with each other you could have an option of "[option a]" or "[would like to be...together-together. with me?]" or something like that

  61. Have Yang and Blake share a route then have their argument before the dance be the point where you choose which one you want the ending for. Side with Yang and end up with her at the dance or Side with Blake and end up with her at the dance.

  67. Your character in the VN will obvously be part of a 4 person team like everyone else. Should they just be faceless "there for the sake of being a team" type characters, or should they actually have faces and personallities that you learn about through the VN?
  68. Hrm, that's tough. That's another 3 characters to write, then again it would be nice to differentiate the level of backstory from regular RWBY by not relying on just "random black shadow # 23" for your background.

  70. For example, if you go down Ruby's path, maybe Yang and Weiss would be more prominent because sister and partner, and for Yang, Ruby and Blake would be more prominent for the same reason. That way we wouldn't have ALL the characters cluttering up all the routes. Just take a handful of the cast, focus on the main character of the route, pick one-two others to have a prominent roll in the story to flesh the route out, and just use really small bit roles for some of the other characters.

  111. RWBYJNPR, definitely. We could theoretically add SSSN, but I don't know how this general would feel about writing for Neptune, and we don't know all that much about Sage and Scarlet.

  113. Maybe squeak CMEN in there. There's a decent love for Bug, Merc, Ice Cream and Cinder-senpai in the thread.

  115. They are some of RWBYg's favourites, I would say.
  116. But putting them in a dating sim could be awkward, from a narrative standpoint.

  118. Nah. Just have their routes take place/start while they're infiltrating as students.

  120. Their routes could also be unlocked as an alternate scenario where you're part of the WF. You can only get them after achieving every bad end in the game.

  136. Not if the route authors collaborate with each other to keep it consistent, and their work is reviewed with that in mind. Just need good editors.

  139. Given the number of characters, it might be best to keep the routes short. The protagonist could be a student from another school. It might make it easier to avoid talking about their team and why none of the others have them before.

  141. One thing we might have to do is figure out how to structure ourselves. How did the team that made Katawa Shoujo or other western VNs structure itself. Gotta have a hierarchy and stuff.

  145. Might be better to organize teams like that before just having a free-for-all calling routes and stuff like that. Just an idea. Someone's gotta take point, and have people answering to them, etc.

  151. How much fanon are we going to incorporate into this VN, or better yet, how much are we willing to contradict the official canon? When will it take place in terms of the main series' storyline? I'm guessing the protag is going to be an OC we make for the game, but that begs the question as to who his/her teammates will be.

  153. If someone is willing to fork over the cash, we can always license some songs. My university's game development club actually licensed a bunch of music from a guy who produces music specifically for people behind small time productions to license for the members to use in their games.

  155. Set it during the early Vytal festival - we're visiting beacon from... somewhere. Make it schrodinger's academy we can change it to make more sense based on routes maybe.

  157. So the twins are guests, bump into the extended RWBYJNPRCMENPV around the school/town/festival. End before the tournament starts so there's not shaking up the plot.

  159. Not everyone played Katawa Shoujo for the purpose of finally fucking the girls. Some people enjoyed the romance, emotions, dialogue, the drama, etc. The sex was like a nice bonus, but not the main reason to play it.
  160. The same thing should be for a RWBY VN. I think RT would be fine with it. The sex scenes should be character and emotion driven, and be realistic. They should not turn into kink play, or where the girls transform into cock hungry sluts who ahegaos.

  162. It should probably be just a big mushy romantic scene at the end, fade to black to imply some things "Blah blah you spent a lot of time together" and fade up to something the next day.

  164. But as someone pointed out, Ruby is 15, which I'm pretty sure is below the AoC in most areas.

  170. To be honest, I'm not sure if we have a choice. Our protagonist is supposed to choose between being a boy or girl. Even if the routes are nearly identical, the sex scenes would have to be different.

  172. Don't forget, these scenes would need to be drawn to mean anything, any any artists will have their hands full with the sprites. They wouldn't have time to draw 28 sex scenes.

  176. If you want to choose between male or female, then the protagonist should have a androgynous name, that still follows the color rules.

  178. If anything make it PG13 awkward touching and stuff, or just make them older.
  179. Sex should be something that you end up only if you score perfect points for that path
