  2. [17:35] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Once again, the pendulum swings the other way, and we turn back time to the night before the current mission. Advance Team 1 drifts away to peaceful sleep under the stars, only to awaken a short time later, an invigorating sea breeze filling the air.
  3. [17:37] <GM||WavemasterRyx> You find yourselves below decks on a small sailing vessel. Its gentle list tells you that it's at sea, and there are barrels stacked about and secured. The hold doesn't seem very large though, only about 15ft.
  4. [17:40] * Swoop looks about at the situation and smiles, her mask covering her head and most of her face. only her muzzle and cheeks are visible.
  5. [17:40] <Swept_Wing> "Yarr!"
  6. [17:41] <Swoop> "Belay that! 'tis too early in the morn."
  7. [17:42] * Chameleon is snoring still
  8. [17:42] <Swoop> "Right, on deck all of you! Let's see where we're at."
  9. [17:43] * Swept_Wing has an eyepatch and bandoleers, with a pair of revolvers tucked into them. "You heard th' Captain! Wake up you lot!"
  10. [17:44] * Swoop goes up on deck to view the area.
  11. [17:44] * Swoop is now known as Dred_Pirate_Swoop
  12. [17:45] * Swept_Wing is now known as One-Eyed_Swept
  13. [17:47] * Chameleon follows along half asleep, dragging a belt with a sword and a dinky one shot pistol on it in her mouth
  14. [17:47] * One-Eyed_Swept follows the Captain up to the deck.
  15. [17:47] <GM||WavemasterRyx> Up on deck, there's a nice clear sky and a gentle wind. The ship appears to be about 25ft long, with 2 cannon emplacements at each side. The mainsail is currently down.
  16. [17:50] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "She's a fine looking ship. First mate! Get us underway while I plot a course."
  17. [17:50] * Clara wakes up from a dream about being on a ship that floats across /outer space/. Proceeds out on deck!

  19. [17:57] <One-Eyed_Swept> "Right away Captain!" He dons his Fancy Pirate Hat. "All hands on deck! Lower the mainsail!"
  20. [18:00] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Swoop doesn't find any charts at the wheel, but plots a course to adventure! The mainsail seems to be in perfectly good order, and Swept has no trouble getting it lowered. The large spread of cloth quickly fills with the wind.
  21. [18:02] <One-Eyed_Swept> "We're underway Captain!"
  22. [18:03] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Aye, that we are!" (tho where we're going is anypony's guess)
  23. [18:04] * Chameleon flies up to the crow's nest. And promptly falls asleep.
  24. [18:05] * Clara peers out over the water!
  25. [18:06] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Anypony see's land, give a call. We're out for adventure, lads!"
  26. [18:09] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Peering out eagerly over the water, Clara's special eyes eventually see a little tiny dot of white.
  27. [18:14] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Tiny dot of white ahead port.
  28. [18:17] * Clara keeps watch a moment to make sure, but soon she calls, "A sail! In the distance! Port side!"
  29. [18:18] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop gets out her spyglass and takes a look.
  30. [18:18] * Chameleon grumbles and perks up. she peeks over the edge of the crow's nest and calls down "Whuzzat?"
  31. [18:19] <One-Eyed_Swept> "Sail! Port Side!"
  32. [18:20] * Chameleon looks around, grumbling as she straps on her belt
  33. [18:23] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Looking through her awesome spyglass thingy, Swoop can make out the definite shape of a ship. A single square sail, and judging from the relative size, quite possibly a similar class to their own.
  34. [18:24] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Stand to, all hands! Looks like we've got company!"
  35. [18:24] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> [all hooves]
  36. [18:25] <One-Eyed_Swept> "Captain, shall I raise the Jolly Roger?"
  37. [18:25] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Not as yet. Let's see who she is first.
  38. [18:25] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "
  39. [18:25] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Besides, surprise is always a good strategy."
  40. [18:25] <One-Eyed_Swept> "Aye aye Captain."
  41. [18:27] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The other ship is quite a distance off, and appears to be heading at a perpendicular course heading port.
  42. [18:29] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop considers for a minute, then grins widely. "Alright, let's run her down. All hooves, make full sail! Mister Swept, the colors, if you please."
  43. [18:32] <One-Eyed_Swept> "Aye aye!" He trots over, and runs up the Jolly Roger, the black flag unfurling in the breeze.
  44. [18:38] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The other boat seems to have caught sight of you, because they're braced the mainsail and are currently booking it away. At this rate, you might not be able to catch up to them.
  45. [18:39] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop watches them pull away wthru the spyglass. "Heave to and take in the sails. We'll never catch that one."
  46. [18:46] <GM||CommodoreRyx> As Swoop is watching the other ship through the spyglass, something else catches her eye, a second ship, sitting low to the water, and moving much slower, with no sails.
  47. [18:48] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Belay that! Theres another ship just beyond, sitting like a duck on water!"
  48. [18:48] * Chameleon calls down "You sure belay things a lot."
  49. [18:48] * Clara peers out over the water. She doesn't see it.
  50. [18:49] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "I'm the captain. It's my job. Plus, it's fun!"
  51. [18:49] <Chameleon> "It's redundant."
  52. [18:50] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Anyway, battlestations! We're taking her apiece!" Leaps to the wheel and spins to give chase to the secong ship.
  53. [18:53] <One-Eyed_Swept> "General Quarters everypony!" He moves to man the cannons.
  54. [18:54] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Even at full sail, it still takes nearly half an hour to catch up to the ship. As you draw closer, you can see that it is something of a barrel shape, mostly underwater, with a railed-in stand on top. The rear of it glows with arcane energies as it tries to flee.
  55. [18:55] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "What the... OPEN FIRE!" Turns the ship to bring the guns to bear.
  56. [18:56] <One-Eyed_Swept> "AYE AYE!"
  57. [18:58] * One-Eyed_Swept loads all of the 2 cannons. "Fire in the hole!" He lights them off.
  58. [19:02] * Chameleon ([email protected]) Quit ( Connection closed )
  59. [19:03] * Sera ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
  60. [19:10] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The first cannon ball smashes into the rear of the vessel, blowing apart glowing pieces of the hull. The second smacks off the top, splintering wood and bouncing away. The ship drifts slowly to a stop.
  61. [19:11] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Fine shooting! Prepare to board!" Brings our ship alongside. "Tie on to her! Mister Clara, Mister Cammy, with me!"
  62. [19:12] * Clara draws her weapon and prepares to board!
  63. [19:12] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop leaps across, sword at the ready.
  64. [19:13] * Sera draws her sword and hops over the rail of the crow's nest, softly humming to herself, landing on the ship...submarine.
  65. [19:13] <Sera> (whoops)
  66. [19:13] * Sera is now known as Chameleon
  67. [19:13] * Chameleon does that
  68. [19:14] * One-Eyed_Swept draws one of his revolvers, tieing their ship onto the other.
  69. [19:25] * One-Eyed_Swept leaps onto the enemy ship with the others, looking around.
  70. [19:27] <GM||CommodoreRyx> There doesn't appear to be anypony on top of the ship, but there are two possible points of entry: the jagged hole you might be able to fit through, left by your cannon ball, and something of a hatch in the middle of the flat landing.
  71. [19:28] * One-Eyed_Swept tries to fit into the hole!
  72. [19:33] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The pegasus pony managed to squish himself into the jagged hole, nimbly avoiding tearing himself open on the jagged spars. Swept drops onto a pile of crates, it's kinda dark, but he can pick out three ponies at where the front of the ship would be.
  73. [19:34] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop facehoofs. "Right then, Cammy, Clara, take the hatch. I'll follow our over-zealous crewmate thru that hole. No quarter given." Flies over and follows more carefully.
  74. [19:34] <GM||CommodoreRyx> One of the ponies hears your hooves hit the crates and turns to face you.
  75. [19:36] * One-Eyed_Swept turns to face them, and fires off 3 shots at the one that turned towards him.
  76. [19:39] * Clara nods. "Yes captain!" She heads for the hatch and tries to see if she can open it, carefully.
  77. [19:39] <GM||CommodoreRyx> All three shots hit hard, staggering the pony and spattering blood over the wood behind him.
  78. [19:40] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The hatch opens easily enough. Looking down it, Clara has a fairly limited view of crates.
  79. [19:42] * Clara cautiously drops down inside.
  80. [19:44] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Once inside the ship, Clara has a clear view of Swept and the other three ponies.
  81. [19:45] * Clara fires on the ponies!
  82. [19:49] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Clara's blasts go wide, sparking off the wall behind the ponies. She sure showed that wall though.
  83. [19:51] * Clara showed that wall /good/!
  84. [19:58] * Chameleon moves to the hatch and begins climbing down singing "When I was just a filly looking for my true vocation, My father said "Now dear, this choice deserves deliberation" She hops off the ladder and see's the three ponies and charges them "Though you could be a doctor or perhaps a financier," she takes two slashes at the first pony she reaches, her song rising to a
  85. [19:58] * Chameleon shout "My dear why not consider a more challenging career!"
  86. [20:06] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Chameleon's enthusiastic slashes tear the sailor pony into thirds, cascading blood over the floor.
  87. [20:07] * Chameleon giggles "Cleanup on isle..." She stops and looks around "submarine? That's a terrible isle."
  88. [20:10] * Clara eyes Cammy a little confusedly.
  89. [20:11] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The other sailor pony grabs a knife from a hoof-sheath and bounds over the protectapony at Chameleon, slashing wildly.
  90. [20:16] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The sailor's knife manages to connect three times, leaving decent sized gouges in Chameleon's hide.
  91. [20:16] * Chameleon stops her song as she gets slashed by the knife "Ooooow! That really hurt you know! I didn't let your friend suffer! What if this gets infected? You'd feel sad then wouldn't you! Made a cute little changeling get gangrene and die."
  92. [20:17] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop enters via the hole (carefully) and sees the carnage. "Good lord. You ponies take 'No Quarter Given' very seriously." Takes aim with her pistol and fires off several shots in quick succession.
  93. [20:18] <Chameleon> "That's a third, not a quarter, silly!"
  94. [20:18] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "My point proven!"
  95. [20:22] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Most of Swoop's shots miss, but two sink into the sailor pony with meaty thuds.
  96. [20:24] * TicTac|2 ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
  97. [20:24] * One-Eyed_Swept ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
  98. [20:24] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The third pony turns, and in a loud, mechanical voice bellows through the ship, "FILTHY PIRATE HOSTILES DETECTED, ENGAGING!" Before firing two lasers at Swept.

  100. [20:26] <Chameleon> "I'm not filthy! I bathe! Occasionally! Sea water isn't exactly the best thing to bathe in, you know!
  101. [20:27] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "This stereotype about us honest pirates being perpetually dirty is vexing."

  107. [20:33] * One-Eyed_Swept yelps, and the growls, letting 3 more shots fly at the pony that had just shot him and dropping the spent revolver, yanking out his other one.

  111. [20:45] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Swept's bullets slam into the protectapony with a grating screech, it's still standing firm though, "YOU'LL NEED MORE THAN THAT, PIRATE SCUM!"

  113. [20:47] * Clara turns on the robot and fires! She'll give it more, and then some!

  116. [20:52] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The protectapony lurches a little, glowing from the laser strike.
  117. [20:54] * Chameleon finally gets her stance back and retaliates against the pony that attacked her
  118. [20:58] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Chameleon's strikes tear the sailor apart, spattering more blood over the interior of the sub. The protectapony cries out, "PONY DOWN!"
  119. [21:01] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
  120. [21:02] * Dred_Pirate_Swoop lines up some more rapid fire pistol popping.
  121. [21:07] <GM||CommodoreRyx> Two more of Swoop's shots hit home, kicking loose large sections of armor on the protectapony. It sputters, "Damage... critical... shouting subroutine... non-functional..."
  122. [21:07] <Dred_Pirate_Swoop> "Blasted metal bastard, die already!"
  123. [21:08] <One-Eyed_Swept> "What do ye think about us 'filthy pirates' now eh?"
  124. [21:08] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The robot fires once back at Swoop then turns to fire at Cammy.
  125. [21:11] <GM||CommodoreRyx> The shot at Swoop goes wide, splintering a crate, but the other sinks deep into the Changeling.
  126. [21:20] <GM||CommodoreRyx> With the guard robot on its last leg, The Dread Pirate Swoop and her crew swiftly finish it off and go about looting the ship, finding several crates of spice and other goods to plunder. Leaving their first success behind, they sail off into the wild blue.
