Ebola virus in Equestria (Tragedy) (Incomplete)

It has been a week since Zecora returned from the funeral of her cousin in her homeland. Apple Bloom is impatient to continue her potion studies.
She finds Zecora's hut door ajar. She enters. "Hello?"
A moan is the only response.
Zecora is lying next to her cooking pot, coughing blood. There is also blood behind her.
Apple Bloom musters her courage, pulls the zebra onto her back, and rushes to Ponyville Hospital.

Ebola has come to Equestria. What happens next?

>You are AppleBloom
>You pushed the door open to find Zecora in a small pool of her own blood, coughing up more of it
>What do you do? You thought to yourself
>As you stared at the miserable Zebra an idea went off in your head
>The hospital!
>She needs to be taken care of
>At least you think she does
>Well, obviously no pony is fine when they're coughing up blood
>But how will you get her to the hospital?
>You're gonna have to carry her
>With all of your filly strength you have in you, you lift Zecora from the floor and mount her on your back
>She sure is heavy, but you can manage
"It'll be alright Zecora, Imma take y'all to the hospital."
>She responds with a moan of agony
>She's trying to say something but she can barely utter a word
>You walk through the blood almost slipping, and head for the door
>You can barely even jog with Zecora on your back, all you can do is walk
>With about every three steps you take, Zecora let's out a moan
>Blood drips from her and falls to the ground with every step you take
"Just hang in there Zecora, you gonna be feeling better soon, I just need'ta get you to the hospital."
>Several minutes pass and you've made it half way through the forest
>You find your self going slower, and Zecora getting heavier
>You can't do this alone, you need somepony's help
>Looking around to see if anypony, just anypony is around
>Something catches your eye, a yellow pegusus with a pink mane
>It's Fluttershy
>She's realesing frogs into the swamp
>Fluttershy may not be the toughest pony around, but you're desperate
>You walk over to her
>"A-AppleBloom? What are yo- *gasp* What happened to Zecora?!"
"No time ta' explain! We need to gett'er to the hospital nao!"
>Fluttershy picks Zecora up off of your back
>Zecora let's out a wailing moan as she does so
>Fluttershy flies as she carries Zecora through the forest, with you running below her
>In a few minutes you finally reach the exit of the forest
>Zecora let's out another moan
>Blood is still dripping from her
>A trail can be seen behind
"Were almost there Zecora! Just hang in there!"
>You finally reach the hospital and burst through the doors
>Everypony looks towards you as you approach the front desk
>"What's the problem?" The mare at the desk asks
"I found 'er in 'er hut laying in blood and coughing up some of it!"
>Just at that moment, Zecora coughs up even more blood
>It drips off of her chin and spills to the floor
>Fluttershy is horrified and almost drops her
"Please! Can you help 'er?!"
>The mare immediately calls for the doctor
>The doctor rushes out from some double doors on the right side of the room
>He is a stallion unicorn with a brown mane, a caramel colored coat, and a doctor's suit on
>He comes out with a Hospital bed
>Fluttershy and the Mare lift Zecora up on to the bed
>As they roll down to some double doors with a sign above that reads 'EMERGENCY ROOM', you and Fluttershy follow
>Just as you are about to go through the doors, a white mare with a nurse's uniform steps in front of you
>"You'll have to wait here." She says "We'll get back to you as soon as possible."
>She then walks off through the double doors and catches up with the doctor and the nurse
>You and Fluttershy stare at the doors as they start the close
>The last thing you see before the doors close is Zecora opening her eyes to look at you
>She mouths to you 'Thank you'
>The doors shut
>You look down at the marble floor
>A single tear escapes your eye and lands on the floor
>Fluttershy picks you up and pulls you in for a hug
>You try to hold back the tears, but it's no use
>You cry onto Fluttershy's shoulder
>"It's okay, Zecora will be fine." She says, trying to comfort you
"Are... Are y'all s-sure?"
>"I'm positive, everything is going to be okay."
>She says these words in the softest way possible
>It was so soothing to you, you stopped crying for a moment
>Fluttershy may not be the toughest pony around, but she sure does know how to be comforting
>Sometimes you think Fluttershy would make a real nice mother
>She sure did do a good job of taking care of you, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo that one time
>When you were having a sleep over at her house
>Sure, she was a little strict and all, but she was a good filly sitter
>And she would make a good mother as well
>You both hold each other for what seems like hours
>Then Fluttershy lets go and puts you down
>"C'mon now, we need to get you cleaned up, and then we should probably tell the others what happened."
>You look down at your hooves to see Zecora's blood all over you
>Yeah, you probably do need to get cleaned up
>Fluttershy takes you to the rest room to clean you up
>She turns the faucet on and gets some paper towels
>You put your front hooves up on the sink
>Flutter then starts cleaning your hooves
"It's okay Fluttershy, I know how to clean my own hooves all by my self."
>"It's alright AppleBloom."
>She then takes the paper towls and rubs the blood off of your hooves
>Luckily the blood wasn't too dry, so it came off easily
>After she finished cleaning your front hooves she started cleaning you hind hooves
>She lifted your left leg and started cleaning it
>You didn't feel uncomfortable the slightest in this process
>Fluttershy is your friend after all, not just some stranger you just met
>Fluttershy was very gentle with your hooves as she cleaned them
>As she did so, those similar thoughts entered your mind
>Fluttershy would make a good mother
>She's so caring, kind, and helpful
>Just like how a good mother acts
>Fluttershy finally finishes cleaning you and starts to clean her self
>The wasn't as much blood on her as there was on you, so it didn't take that long
>She finished cleaning her self, so you both exited the rest room
>"Okay, we should go tell the others what happened."
"But shouldn't y'all wait for Zecora?"
>"We can come back later to check on her."
"But, I want ta' stay here, I don't want ta' leave Zecora."
>Fluttershy looks up and stares at nothing
>She must be thinking
>She looks back down to you and says
>"Well, somepony has to go tell what happened, and I don't want to leave you here all alone."
"Fluttershy, go tell them, and I'll stay here."
>"B-but, AppleBloom-"
"I'll be fine, trust me, just go tell everypony while I wait here."
>Fluttershy let's out a sigh, and then makes up her mind
>"Alright, you can stay here, but don't leave until I get back okay?"
"I promise Fluttershy, I'll stay here."
>"Okay, I'll see you here in about half an hour, alright?"
>You nod your head
>Fluttershy walks to the front doors and pushes one open
>She looks back at you
>You wave your hoof at her with a smile on your face
>Fluttershy turns to the exit and walks out
>Now all you have to do is wait

>You tried to read some of the magazines there, but these magazines just make you wish you went with Fluttershy
>But you had to stay with Zecora, you had to stay loyal to her
>You tried reading some of the magazines and books for fillies, although they were either coloring books or learning books
>None of that stuff interested you
>You were just so eager to see Zecora, to see if she's alright just like Fluttershy promised
>You wondered how the others would take the news
>You didn't like the thought of seeing you friends cry because another is in a devastating state
>And what about that monkey man? Anon is it? You have a hard time remembering his name

>Such a strange name
>You don't see him much
>Last time you remember seeing him was a few months ago when he came down by the farm to help out
>He was pretty friendly as you remember him being like that
>He helped carry baskets full of fresh apples to the carriages
>He was even kind enough to help you and the family sell them in town
>You've heard that he helps a lot around the town
>Everypony says he's a great man
>Of course, you haven't gotten to know him that much
>He's really good friends with your sister
>She doesn't talk much about him though
>You've only heard that he's from somewhere called "Earth" and there's much more beings like him living there
>Imagining a planet full of green monkey men is pretty weird
>Maybe they have green dogs and cats there
>And green food and green water
>Maybe even green poop
>Okay AppleBloom, you're getting a little overboard here now
>Let's just focus on what's going on right now
>Zecora is very ill, and we need to make sure she's gonna be alright
>As you sit and think to your self, you hear the front doors open
>Fluttershy and everypony else is there
>Twilight, Rarity, RainbowDash, Pinkie, and AppleJack
>Even Anon came along
>AppleJack rushes to you and pulls you in for a big hug
>"Aw Bloom, Ah'm so sorry this had to happen."
"It's okay." You say "You don't have to blame yourself."
>AppleJack looks at you
"No pony here is to blame."
>AppleJack hugs you tightly, and then lets you go
>"So, are y'all alright? Ya' hurt anywhere."
"I'm fine Sis."
>"Alright, if ya' say so."
>Just then, the same doctor you saw before walks out from the emergency room
>He looks at his clip board for a few seconds and then looks up at you and the others
>"Are you all here for Zecora?" He asks
>"Yes, doctor." AppleJack replies
>"Well I have good news and bad news."
>You swear you hear everpony in the room hold their breath
>"We have managed to keep Zecora in a stable state."
>Everypony exhales in relief
>"The bad news is, we can't find out what's wrong with her."
>The doctor says this with a frustrated tone
>"We have recognized all the symptoms she's been experiencing, but the disease she holds is unknown."
>The doctor levitates his glasses off of his face and looks at the clip board
>"We've never heard of anything like it."
>"We've had to deal with very serious and mysterious cases before, but this one is just... unexplainable."
>Silence fills the room for at least a ten seconds, then Twilight speaks up
>"What are the symptoms?" She asks
>The doctor looks back at his clip board
>"Well, she's suffered from a fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, to be specific vomiting of blood, stomach pain, lack of appetite and excessive bleeding."
>Twilight puts her hoof on her chin and thinks for a while
>"I may be able to find the disease some where in my library. Better yet, maybe even the cure as well."
"Can we see Zecora nao?" You ask the doctor
>The doctor looks down at you with a sad look
>"I'm sorry, but you can not. The disease she holds is highly contagious, and it's best that we keep her quarantined so it may not pass on to other ponies."
>You hang your head down in defeat
>It may be a while now before you ever see Zecora again
>She was a very close friend of yours
>You always liked hanging around in her hut
>"Well, what can you do now?" Rarity asks concerned
>"All we can do now is wait." The doctor replies "While we do so, we'll try to find out what this virus is, and a cure for it."
>Everypony looks at each other
>"You should all go home and get some rest, we'll update you on the situation tomorrow morning."
>The doctor walks off back to the doors
>Just before he enters them, he turns back and says
>"I can see that Zecora has some really caring friends."
>The doctor smiles
>"I'm sure she cares about you all as well."
>And with that, the doctor disappears behind the double doors
>You look back to the others, and then you look at Fluttershy
>You slowly approach her and say
"So, are ya' sure Zecora's gonna be alright."
>Fluttershy stares at you for a couple seconds, then she says
>"I'm sure. We just have to wait."
>You fall into Fluttershy's chest for a hug
>The rest watch as you hold each other for a couple of seconds, and then they join in
>You slowly open your eyes to see Anon standing there all alone
>A single tear drops from his eye
>Anon must have experienced this a lot
>He knows what it's like to lose a friend
>He knows what it's like to lose a loved one
>This is your first time ever experiencing something like this
>But Anon, he's had to go through it far too many times
>You know he has
>You can tell by that single tear
>So, you extend your hoof, and offer him to join
>Another tear falls from his face
>He slowly walks over and puts his hand on your hoof
>He kneels down and joins in for a hug
>Everypony here really needed a loving, warm hug
>But Anon, he needed it more than anypony here
>And at that very moment, a spark lit
>This wasn't a spark of magic, but a spark of hope
>That spark... was Anon

>You insisted you'd help her out with finding this disease that Zecora has
>So, you sluggishly slide out of bed and head for the shower
>You are a resident of Ponyville
>In fact you're the only human resident
>Hell, you're the only human on this planet
>Your house is fairly big
>Princess Celestia was kind and generous enough to let you have it for free, and give you monthly incomes for helping out around the village
>She was your first encounter here, and she was very kind
>You told her about where you came from, and about your society and such back on your home planet
>And in no time, you were accepted into Equestria as another citizen
>Everyone here was really kind towards you, especially the main six
>Spike, however, wasn't very fond of you at first
>Though in time, he accepted you as a friend
>He still keeps a close eye on you when you talk to Rarity though
>Over all, life was good here in Equestria
>Your house was much better than your shitty apartment you had back on Earth
>It was specially designed just for a human like you
>You had great friends, a fair amount of money, and the best part is, rape, violence, crime and such was extremely rare here
>Disease was still about though
>Speaking of which, Zecora was very ill
>Other than that, things were pretty okay
>You turned on the shower and washed your self
>After about half an hour you finally got out of the shower
>You got dressed, ate breakfast, and headed out
>The sun shined brightly in the sky
>It was a clear day out, no clouds
>You walked through town in the direction of Twilight's giant crystal castle
>You don't know why it had to be crystal, probably so the toys could sell better
>That didn't matter though
>Ponies smiled and waved as you walked past them
>You really wanted to break into song right there
>Though, you held back everything that would impel you to do so
>Now is not the time to be part of a Disney movie right now
>You had to get down to business
>Eventually you reached Twilight's castle
>You walked up the golden steps and knocked on the golden double doors
>A few seconds of waiting, a small purple dragon answered the door
>"Oh, hey Anon!"
"Hey Spike, uh, I'm here to help Twilight."
>"Alright, c'mon in."
Spike steps away from the door and starts heading down a long hall way just across from the door
>"Shut the door behind you." He says
>You walk inside of the castle and close the door
>You've only been here once for a few weeks when you first arrived here in Equestria
>It was pretty nice here, though the meals you weren't very fond of
>"Twilight's in the library. You know where it is, right?"
"Yeah, I know where it is." You answer him
>"Okay then."
>You walk up the stairs and head for the library
>You enter through the large entrance that leads to the library
>Damn, the library is a hell of a lot bigger than you remember
>At the end of the room a giant glass window is seen, with a door way leading to a balcony outside
>To the right are various, same as to the left
>Very few books litter the floor
>there are at least three floors to the library
>You start walking down through the middle towards the giant glass window at the end of the room
>Before you can reach half way down, you hear Twilight's voice from behind
>"Oh! Anon you're here!"
"Hey Twilight." You say
>"I haven't found out what the disease is yet, but I did found out that it's extremely uncommon, and not from Equestria."
>Well obviously it's not from here, other wise we all would have caught it
"Anything else?"
>"Not really. That's all I could figure out."
"Perhaps the doctor can give us some info on his update."
>"Oh right! We were supposed to go check with him this morning!"
"Well he didn't state which time, so it's safe to go anytime before noon I guess."
>"Do you suppose we could go now? I know you just got here and-"
"It's alright Twilight, we'll go now."
>"Great!" She says closing the book. "I'll tell the others."
"Alright, I'll start heading down to the hospital now, if that's fine with you."
>"Sure, go ahead."
"Okay, see you there."
>"See ya'."
>Twilight then flies off through her castle
>You go back down stairs and exit the castle and start heading for the hospital
>You hope the doctor and nurses there have got something for you
>You don't need questions
>What you need now is answers
>You approach the hospital and walk in
>At the front desk you see a mare with a blue curly mane, a yellow coat, and a nurse's hat on
>"Hi!" She says greeting you "Are you here to see Zecora?"
"Yes." You reply
>"Okay. Well, the doctor's got some good news for you then. Wait right here."
>She walks through a doorway behind the counter
>Good news
>That's great to hear
>It's a good thing they could find out something
>Better than just having a pile of questions lying around waiting to be answered
>You go to sit down
>A few moments later and the mare returns out from the door way she left through
>"The doctor will be with you in a moment, so just be... "patient" Ehehehehehe! *snort* Get it?! Patient!  Ehehehehe."
>You sit there and stare at her with the most serious look you can ever make
>"Ehehe... hehe... *sigh* never mind." She says as she walks back through the doorway
>You internally chuckled at the joke
>Moments later, Twilight and the rest arrived
>Everyone from yesterday was here
>They all gave you a greeting while you returned the favor
>After talking for a while, the mare you saw before came out of the doorway along with the doctor
>The doctor had a big smile across his face
>You could tell he was pleased to tell you the news
>"Good news everypony! We've discovered a cure!"
>You and everybody else jump up from their seats to hear what the doctor has to say
>They all gather around
>"We have not discovered the disease yet, but we do know the cure!"
>"Well? What is it?" Rainbow asks eagerly
>"The cure is... time!"
>"Come again?" AppleBloom asks in a confused tone
>"Time! We just have to wait. While we give her supportive care, her body will fight the virus, and eventually she'll get better."
"How long do we have to wait?" You ask
>"If we keep her in a stable state and treat her with good care, she should be feeling better in about a week."
>"Well that's a relief." Rarity states
>"When she's all better, we should throw a party!" Pinkie says
>"See AppleBloom, Fluttershy here was right." AppleJack says, looking at Fluttershy
>"Well, were all glad that Zecora is going to be alright." Twilight says
>"We will still have to keep her quarantined though, even after a couple of days when she's all better. The virus will still be extremely contagious."
>AppleBloom is disappointed by this and pouts
>"But I wanna see her."
>"You'll jus' have ta' be patient Bloom."
>You then hear a giggle from the mare at the desk
>You put your serious as fuck face back on and stare her down
>She stops giggling
