  1. That I am an undergraduate student researcher at IIIT-Hyderabad, I am no amateur to the methods and meaning behind research. An opportunity to create R&D connections across the globe and a chance to engage in group think with the bright minds selected in the S N Bose program is an experience that I seek. I am a co-author in the research paper on “Personality Mining from Social Media” and if selected will be presented in ACM conference on SIGCHI 2015.
  2. I am always on the look for new and interesting research ideas to further my curiosity and interest in Computer Science. I am a trans-disciplinary student pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and MS by Research in Digital Humanities and hence am ably placed to not only undertake study in Core computing but also expand the traditional barrier of Computer Sciences and integrate them with applied arts like psychology, culture and perception.
  3. I am driven to undertake research and projects in Social Media Monitoring.
  4. Social media monitoring allows users to find insights into a brand's overall visibility on social media, measure the impact of campaigns, identify opportunities for engagement, assess competitor activity and share of voice, and be alerted to impending crises. It can also provide valuable information about emerging trends and what consumers and clients think about specific topics, brands or products.
  5. The Human Computer interaction department at University of Wisconsin Madison is one of the best in the world. Given opportunity to spend time in research under the eminent faculty and other co-researchers, I am confident that I’ll be suitably directed to continue my research back in IIIT-Hyderabad which is itself a research university focused on Computer Sciences.
  6. My belief is that any education without adequate scope for research is intellectually impoverished. My inherent desire to continue to take up challenging research that pushes man’s imagination is viably honed.
  7. I believe my time in S N Bose Scholars program will be turnpoint in my academic life. With hope and optimism in my work and skills, I can promise that if given admittance in the S N Bose Scholars Program, I shall strive to be an asset to the program and make best use of my time allowed.
